Can you please tell me the name of this stitch? I know I've worked it in a blanket before, (rectangle)but can't recall the name of the stitch, and this time I'd like to join it at the neck and keep going in the round to make a bandana cowl. I'm sick (and lazy) and don't look forward to all the frogging I'd have to do to work it out myself. If you'd rather not, no biggie. :)

This is a stitch I made up that I call the modified blanket stitch as it's similar to the blanket stitch but in reverse.

I am still a newbie to crochet what other weight yarn can i use beside a 2 and what size hook? I can not work with a 2 weight as of yet. Thanks

Thanks for your interest in this pattern! This pattern was designed and tested using size 2 yarn and an H hook. You are welcome to try it using a different size yarn and hook, but the overall look, size and amount of yarn required may be different.
I’m guessing as I haven’t made the bandana using size 3 yarn yet but I think using size 3 yarn and a J hook would work. Would love to know how you make out!

I made one with worsted weight (size 4) yarn with an H hook and it turned out beautifully. It's a tighter weave, (so it's warmer) but if you'd like a looser weave, try a J or K hook with worsted. Just work up a small triangle to see how you like it, then change hooks accordingly. :)
