Just in case you're still interested, Tudor actually does make their rubber straps in a smaller size (it costs around $200 CAD,). It helps keep the watch case and clasp in the middle of your wrist. The piece at 6 o'clock is shorter, which kinda nudges the case to sit more in the center. Hope this helps someone!
I acquired about this at the AD when purchasing my BB54 and they actually swapped out the band to the smaller size for free. Had to wait about a month for it but very happy now! Love mine. It is perfect on bracelet and for my 18 cm (7.1') wrist. You are right: the BB54 is not too small for bigger wrists because of the lug to lug effect.
it's funny how people talk about how small a 37mm watch is, I was still rocking my 35mm IWC back in the 90s. It was the standard back then, Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt all wore something in that size.. did people grow bigger in the last 30 years or what?

Rubber strap is an awesome look! I have it on bracelet, ordering in the rubber strap, its been 2 months can’t wait!! Dont even wear my bb 58 anymore 😂 By the way honest review and beautiful watch.
Very interesting. I tried 54 on both bracelet and rubber and much prefer the rubber strap. Because it felt much more comfortable. Agreed with overly lug to lug, The strap needs to be tight on the wrist to get the best look.
It's amazing how big the BB54 looks on your wrist, when it looks like a toy on mine. The Pelagos 39 sizing is better on my wrist. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the SJE093.
Hey Sanjay, nice vid - Not sure if it's your thing but a jubilee bracelet (Aftermarket) would have made it sit great on your wrist. Perhaps on day you'll buy another one - That's the madness of collecting I guess!

So I’m guessing the rubber strap is a one size fits all affair? It can’t but trimmed to size? How does it possibly fit a wrist at 7.5 inches all the way down to 6 inches?
i think you may have gotten along better with the bracelet, bro. uncle (seiko) straps makes a half link that i think i need to get because the t-fit is nice but kind of moot
I bought the watch on bracelet, and want to order the OEM rubber strap for it. Unfortunately none of my ADs have a rubber version in stock for me to try on, and for them to order it I have to pay in full. I have no issue with this, but I am worried about the fitment of the rubber and at the price point they quoted me (£550) I just want to make sure before ordering it. Since I have a similar size wrist to yourself, I was wondering if you could help me with a few questions regarding the strap, if you don’t mind. Firstly, after you cut the rubber to size, did this leave any additional rubber that could be cut in the future? Secondly, were you still able to make full use of the T-fit? ie. could you adjust it to make it tighter or looser. This is my main concern, since on the bracelet, I’m in between sizes. So after initially sizing it, the T-fit had to be on the maximum notch which meant I could not adjust it to make it looser for when my wrist swelled. If I added a link, then the T-fit had to be on the minimum notch, which meant I was unable to make it tighter for when my wrist shrunk. The only solution to this, is the Uncle Seiko half link which fixed the problem. Unfortunately there would be no solution with the rubber if this were the case for me. Finally, on the wrist, did you find the watch sliding toward the 12 o Clock side? I have the P39 and when I wear it on rubber it doesn’t sit on the middle of my wrist properly. It has a tendency to slide toward the 12 o Clock side, which is annoying and I have to keep readjusting it.
I think you made the right choice. The 54 looks too big on your wrist, and it just looks awkward. Strangely, even the the PO is bigger, it doesn't look as awkward on your wrist. I think the Longines diver was actually the best fitting diver you had... and that color! 😍 Oh well, to each their own.
Loving the channel, down-to-earth reviews. I have the 54 on bracelet and enjoy it. I wish I got the seiko reissue, but was unsure about the movement. If BEAMS Japan comes out with a version with black date wheel, I'll grab that. You may have already said, but what kind of engineer are you? Keep up the videos 👍
@@engineer_wannabe awesome, did you transfer to finance or software like many of my engineering buddy's? Also, like the message you say at the start of your videos, something different and good to keep in mind when discussing watches. Cheers
The 62MAS is better in what? The latest Seiko 62MAS SJE is a total rip-off. It's got 6L37 movement instead of 8L35 movement. It is all a personal choice. Tudor Black Bay 54 is a re-creation of the first diver Rolex or Tudor watches of the 1950s and Seiko is a re-creation of diver watches of the 1960s.
For which 62mas are referring ? Sbdc101 aka spb 14xx ? If yes, great case (wear small) slightly taller than it should, dlc coated bezel which is not the best and a bad bracelet with pins and collars with a horrible buckle. A driver's extension made out of cheap metal which is located at the most awkward place making the fitting of the watch bad. Not to mention you need to go through hell to remove it. The 6r35 may have 70h pr(according to Seiko - I can't verify cos I haven't tested) and with an accuracy -10/+25 sec !!! Mine gave me +20 from day one. They never take the time to regulate them . The sbdc053 with 50h pr had issues with the mainspring, had to replace and regulate and yes now it's at -2 sec @ 24h but after going through all that, a letdown. If any of these two apply to the comparison with the Tudor, they ain't half as good.
I have this on steel braclet and i have 6inch wrists this watch will never leave my box collet ever, and i dont know how could you sale this watch it looks so good on your wrist, the omega looks huge on your wrist, i wear this always at night its just reflect the tungsten lights so well at my house 😍
Thanks for the vid! It’s never comfortable with a watch that is so big it overhangs the wrist or close to it, not to mention the weight… proportionality is a nice guide. If I were you I’d go for smaller watches like a Rolex OP34, 36, Exp 36 or similar or go vintage… daily wear comfort is important man
Thanks for this honest review, I don’t think it looks bad but agree 100% that the strap would be good as an extra and wouldn’t go for it as an alternative to the bracelet. I’d be tempted to try this on a nato, maybe even a leather strap but would want the bracelet I think.
My wrist varies between 16.5 to 16.8 and I wish I had 17.5cm wrist, so many cool 40/41 mm watches that just don’t feel right on my wrist, and I hate that
Yeah the clasp does actually fit long on the bracelet with the swing arm and the non articulating link it takes up the whole underside of my wrist and is just short enough to still work. Would have been more balanced with the small watch head if it was shorter though. It can make the bracelet look slightly awkward
Agree that the bracelet looks better than the rubber strap by a fair margin. Beautiful watch though. Trying to decide between this one or Seiko SPB383.
Hmm both are beautiful watches...but the SPB383 might be a bit outclassed in that comparison...That said, it'll save you a bunch of money if it gives you the same amount of joy!
Thanks for your honest review. Try the CW pro 300. It has the dimensions and specs you're looking for and a finish on par with the Tudor. It has quick release for easy strap/bracelet changes, lugs that curve down and hug the wrist, beautiful and thin case shape, has different OEM strap options, allows engraving, has micro adjust on the bracelet and has its own unique design language that is not a Rolex derivative or heritage design. While everyone is debating BB54 vs. BB58 I'm super happy with my CW. Also nice is that the CW costs 1/4 of the price of the Tudor.
I’ve had one of these on my radar for a while, I particularly like their blue and orange colourways. Owned a few CWs and always been happy/impressed but grabbed a Seiko sumo 3rd gen for a steal so the CW is on hold until I get bored of this. Glad to hear it gets the thumbs up from an owner
I have the exact same wrist size as you. On paper I thought this might work for me even though I try to limit lug to lug to a maximum of 44 mm. But the lugs don't curve downwards and create a gap that looks awkward and ill-fitting. The other thing I don't like is the domed underside. It makes the whole case unable to sit flush on the wrist. Very disappointing. Pass.
@@engineer_wannabe I really wanted to like this watch and still plan to try it on. You're saying you'd choose the bracelet over the rubber strap. Is this because it looks better or because you can adjust the bracelet to center the clasp on the back of your wrist?
I have a flat 6 1/4 inch or maximum 6 1/2 inch wrist and my Seiko SPB053 (with a diameter of 42.6 mm and lag to lug of 49.8 mm) doesn't look too big on my wrist.
This is my one watch but I’ve been thinking about trying to upgrade to the new planet ocean 39.5 75th anniversary. I’ve see how well your planet ocean works and that new anniversary edition fixes a lot of the gripes I’ve had with the current model, but the 54 does work well on my flat wrist so it’s a hard choice
I’ve got the bb54 on the metal bracelet and love it. And you made the right choice. The watch doesn’t look good on your wrist. Way too big for your wrist. And I also did try it on the rubber but doesn’t like it as well.
For the life of me, I can't figure out why Tudor put such a long swing arm with non articulating link on the Black Bay 58. It makes it unwearable on smaller wrists.
I'm not a fan of this watch myself Sanjay i like the BB58 better & think it's overpriced. have you considered the Rolex Datejust 36 i think you'd really like it & it would fit you well.
Not a fan of this Rolex directive that all Black Bay must have snow flake hands and can't use Mercedes hands nor use the Submariner name two things that are very much part of Tudor heritage. I mean if you're going to homage the original 54 then keep original hand set aesthetic. Otherwise it seems like a heavy handed forced hierarchy to upsell Rolex 3 handers ...which they wont sell you.
That is the exact piece that I have been wanting since it debuted. My AD says that they have not seen one yet. I have a 18.5 cm wrist and don't anticipate a problem with fit. I wish I knew you were selling it. I'd have been eager to buy it...
Yeah the rubber strap is done well but it’s the wrong style for the period it’s a 70s inspired integrated rubber on a 50s inspired diver and those two styles clash. When they first released it I thought that they should have made a special tropic rubber with it so it would all be period correct. That’s one of the reasons I got mine on the bracelet
The BB54 looks so good on the bracelet! But I do prefer the look on sailcloth or tropic style...so I figured I didn't have to wait for a bracelet equipped model 😅
I cant understand why a watch manufacturer in this day and age cant just make a watch in various sizes , to suit all wrist sizes . The bb 41mm was a bit too thick, the 58 was better , but not for big wrists, and the 54 doesnt wear much different lug to lug than the 58 ? Just design the watch decide on the thickness , and offer it in 3 sizes ? Then everyone is happy ? They could easily do a bracelet and a rubber strap as a standard offering too.
I’ve owned quite a few Tudors and am currently selling my Pro. I’ve picked up a Seiko SLA043 for a good price, bought unseen but aware of the reputation, for me it’s nicer to have the top of the Seiko tree (with all the Grand Seiko manufacturing involved) than a ubiquitous Tudor for the masses.
I was thinking about a BB58 fpr a long time, when 54 arrived i tried both on my skinny wrist, BB58 is a perfect size and design. BB54 while looking preferct on screen it looks small on the wrist. When they will realese a BB58 with jubilee i might get another one. Love the BB58, it is a beach, meeting, weeding, dog walking ready watch

Pass.
I'm sorry to hear that, my friend! Plenty of other fish in the sea 😁
@@engineer_wannabe I really wanted to like this watch and still plan to try it on. You're saying you'd choose the bracelet over the rubber strap. Is this because it looks better or because you can adjust the bracelet to center the clasp on the back of your wrist?
I have a flat 6.25 inch wrist and the flat case just works on mine luckily
I have a flat 6 1/4 inch or maximum 6 1/2 inch wrist and my Seiko SPB053 (with a diameter of 42.6 mm and lag to lug of 49.8 mm) doesn't look too big on my wrist.
How small is your wrist? It looks massive on you. You may have mentioned in the video and I missed it.
My wrist is 16cm in circumference. However, my wrist shape is quite round so it appears even smaller!
That's a tough choice. The PO is a more bulky watch...you might not enjoy that aspect of it. Try before you buy!
If you didn't like how it looked on you, why did you buy it?
I’ve got the bb54 on the metal bracelet and love it. And you made the right choice. The watch doesn’t look good on your wrist. Way too big for your wrist. And I also did try it on the rubber but doesn’t like it as well.
Excellent choice, my friend. I believe this thing deserves to be on the metal bracelet 👌
Appreciate the honesty, a cool watch but the 58 does it for me also.
Yhanks for watching, my friend!
love the message.. I am a believer..
Glad to meet another fellow believer 🙂
The 2013 speedmaster racing 40mm would have a good fitment as well.
what brand was the sailcloth strap shown?
That was an Artem Sailcloth 👌
The 54 on bracelet would have been better for your wrist size. The Seamaster looks too big, IMO.
Although nicely proportioned, I think the 54 is a bit dull. It looks like all the interesting characteristics of the 58 have been washed away.
Thanks for the recommendation, JJ! I'm not a huge fan of date manifiers. I will eventually consider the OP36 when prices are not so high haha
@@michaelriera6277 👍
It should work very well on your wrist! 👍🙂
Hey future Sanjay, don’t change.
Haha you're too kind, my friend. Hope you're keeping well!
@@engineer_wannabe doing great buddy! I laughed so much watching the review. I thought I was the only one that talked to themself. Thanks!
Your wrist is too small for this watch I think. Did you sell this in the end?
Yeah the rubber strap is done well but it’s the wrong style for the period it’s a 70s inspired integrated rubber on a 50s inspired diver and those two styles clash. When they first released it I thought that they should have made a special tropic rubber with it so it would all be period correct. That’s one of the reasons I got mine on the bracelet
Exactly. I was going to mention that tropic-style rubber would be a perfect match for this watch.
Yea the strap looks completely wrong with that watch
The BB54 looks so good on the bracelet!
But I do prefer the look on sailcloth or tropic style...so I figured I didn't have to wait for a bracelet equipped model 😅
It's a desk diver for small people
BB54 in the trunk?😎
BB54 has already left the trunk 😛
I cant understand why a watch manufacturer in this day and age cant just make a watch in various sizes , to suit all wrist sizes . The bb 41mm was a bit too thick, the 58 was better , but not for big wrists, and the 54 doesnt wear much different lug to lug than the 58 ? Just design the watch decide on the thickness , and offer it in 3 sizes ? Then everyone is happy ? They could easily do a bracelet and a rubber strap as a standard offering too.
They can but they want you to buy more models.
I'm thankful that Omega does this...albeit in an imperfect way haha (movement downgrade on smaller watches)
and your wrist for a omega is to small as well for de tudor.. try it in childrens collection
Thanks for sharing
Looks like your wrist is 14cm… the watch still looks big in your slender wrist
Lol the Aqua Terra 38 is even smaller lug to lug
Dang didn’t last until you released the review
It's a new record haha 😅
Future Sanjay, be sure to watch this video if you get the etch to rebuy BB54🤣
Future Sanjay has been warned! 🤣
Sanjay I feel that your wrist size is ruining the hobby for you. It's frustrating when you can't wear some of the watches you love.
I hear you! I'm learning how to appreciate watches on other peoples' wrsits. The watches I currently have all fit me well (in my opinion)
@@engineer_wannabe
I agree especially the po. I also have a smaller wrist and it does limit what you can wear.
I have Tudor mate you make the worst decision to buy 54 is not good effort bad decision
That omega Looks like 45mm on youre wrist tudor looked to big too sorry...
Airgap is completely unacceptable
I was thinking about a BB58 fpr a long time, when 54 arrived i tried both on my skinny wrist, BB58 is a perfect size and design. BB54 while looking preferct on screen it looks small on the wrist. When they will realese a BB58 with jubilee i might get another one. Love the BB58, it is a beach, meeting, weeding, dog walking ready watch
Yea I don’t like the snowflake hands. It’s a giant eyesore
I think PO 39.5 looks best on your wrist 🎉
good you sold it.. because its a too big for your wrist sorry
Dumb review - your PO looks terrible on your wrist as it's too large. BB54 looks better balanced on your wrist.
you sound like a by-polar review=cant make up your mind weather you like the warch or dislike the watch, maybe you are trying too hard to belive you want to like the watch ? !
sorry you got no idea of watches sorry omg just a shame on you!!
😭
Haha I bet the BB54 would look fantastic on your wrist!
@@engineer_wannabe I saw it in person at my AD. I was surprised how much I really liked it. I had to give it back before I got too tempted lol. I was hoping you would keep this one long term (ie. more than a month 😜)
The Seiko is much nicer
You were wearing this today in your video. Dunno what to think of you. Why are the rich ones always cuckoo?
Haha the video I released recently was recorded a couple of months ago. It had fallen in the backlog of videos that needed to be edited. I'm not rich per se but I definitely am cuckoo 😛
The Omega PO on your wrist looks like an onion, very awkward. You have a very tiny wrist, try some 36/37mm watches instead.
