Saw where I went wrong. I soaked like 2-3 days. Boil it like 15 min. Didn’t even brush cleaned. A week later, white fungus was growing on the wood. I threw it out. Gave up on the idea. Lol Maybe now, I will try again.
I have some driftwood that release some oil, I've never had that happen before. I was boiling multiple pieces at a time so I'm not sure which piece it came from. So now I'm trying to find a way to remove the sticky oily like film it left on other pieces. Do you think this method would work? Also have you ever experience driftwood releasing oil while boiling?
Hello sir/ma'am. Yes. You need to dry first your driftwood. You need to expose your driftwood in the sunlight. The oil is just like a tannis on your driftwood. Maybe months to remove. Or if know some falls or river you can soak for a month.
This was a great video. I’m preparing driftwood now and they are big pieces. Had been soaking them in a big tote but then it got green mold on it. I have a 4ft driftwood. I make the same process. I have a big metal drum then let them boil. If you do not have a big metal drum. You can use a Plastic one. But don't boil. Put the driftwood then slowly pour hot water.

You need rock salt, vinegar... Garlic, black pepper ,laurel leaf, some sugar and pork meat. Cook it in a pot and voila! Pork Adobo. Joke 😆✌. A good elaborate video though 👌

From my experience yes. I got wood from lfs and my tank became infested with snails so I would recommend at least boiling the water and letting it sit for a few days, maybe a week or two

Small can be done easily but what about the big 4 feet drift woods? How can we boil that? All won't have huge vessels
