Sucks that you never hit us with the big time Neo Geo prices, I don’t think numbers go high enough for that. I’d love to see the price of the first Metal Slug on AES.
The spine card is known in Japan as the Obi or j card. All non artwork information is on the jcard or Obi freeing up the main case to display just what the artists want you to see. Its a system that gives creative freedom and it should be used worldwide but isn't. Who wants to see ratings/warnings and all that other crap on the artwork?
Some even add pretty poetic stuff, have you seen what the Ikaruga one tells? It's damn gorgeous... Also aside from that, they even cover the edge of the box, so they look kinda better.
11:23 WOW my favorite game "Captain Lang" costs that much?, it puts a tear on my eye. i would actually cry and take a picture of it and keep it as a background on my phone if i saw that in person. WOWEEE look at the price of Panorama Cotton 0.0 , someday i'll save up and go to Japan. i've been always wanting to go there ever since i was 9 (im 20 now). My dream will come true someday ^•^ .
If I ever go to Japan, I'm probably gonna take a look in here just for the sights and spend the rest of my time at either the more reasonably priced game stores in Akiba (assuming there are any) or just try to find things at HardOff (which'll require me to learn the language enough to be okay).
If you are in Akihabara, you might find lower prices at Friends, Surugaya, BEEP, or the 2 Traders stores. But still not cheap as the Hard Offs or other thrift stores in the outer Tokyo area.
Hmm. Sounds like I'll be doing the Hard Off runs, then. I'm probably gonna need to learn the language somewhat well before I go so I don't look stupid.
Google Translate and Map are your best friend in Japan. From my username, I am not Japanese. Still I was able travel around both Tokyo and Osaka by myself going just to the Hard Offs that are close to the train stations. Couple of times, I had to ask the sale person for a game inside a glass display case, I just have Google translate my request into Japanese and have it show in full screen mode. While not require, buy a travel SIM card or rent a cellular WiFi router as Internet connection makes the 2 apps work better.
Huh. I didn't think about that. I wasn't sure if the locals would frown upon stuff like that. I guess if they sell travel SIM cards at airports that would be used for that stuff, I guess they probably wouldn't frown upon that stuff. That would certainly make things easier on me since I can't learn stuff like a new language and have it actually stick reasonably well.
T-Mobile gives me free roaming in Japan, but I find the speed very slow. I find lot of place in Japan offer free WIFI, but convenient stores like 7-11 require you to sign up 1st and also some trains and train station has free WIFI. But again I find travel SIM is the best in term of speed and reliable connection, but then it somewhat expensive. I ended using 2 phones, 1 with my T-Mobile SIM card and 2nd with the Japan Travel SIM. Oh yea, speaking of 7-11, I only used their ATMs in their stores. They don't charge transaction fee on their end when I used my bank's debit card. This is important as Japan is cash only., most stores like Hard Off does not take credit card.
Sol Divide is actually a shooter... Man, those prices are harsh. Some are pretty average but most are really high. Looking at Virtual On, that's a game that litters the junk bins in my area for ¥108 - almost ¥800 there. Crazy to see some of that but I would have totally bought that Golden Axe III for ¥9000. I guess everyone is looking for something that they can't find elsewhere and that's how they can get away with those prices.
$1400 (£1000GBP ) for Shinrei Jusatsushi Taromaru is insane (unless it's a sealed copy ).Estimated copies of a few thousand released, it's a pretty good game but not worth that. You could find one with spine for about $650 ( £500) possibly cheaper if you look around. Nice video though!
(1) PCE version of Zero Wing.... heck no. European MD or nothing. (2) Ikaruga is the one game I'd consider playing "collector" prices for (3) The PSP is the best version of Rondo of Blood, and it has the original version, and it has SOTN, and you can buy it and a PSP to play it on for less than the cost of the PCE version.
great video a lot to choose from super potato 😎
