I love the pond videos. Pond fishing is all I do (never fishing from a boat before) so these all apply to me. Labor day weekend I landed my PB 8-pound bass in one of the ponds behind my house-2nd cast with a white fluke! What a rush! Thanks guys, can’t get enough of your channel!
I rarely get invited onto a boat, so pond from the shore is the majority of my fishing. I always get excited when I see a pond video in the lineup. Thanks and keep them coming.
He's fishing a private pond that's not pressured. You can throw a cracker on a hook and catch bass. As a pond fisherman. I would like to see him fish a pressured pond. Just like all his viewers.
Matt it's good to see u out in Tennessee being successful coming from a home where u had great success and familiarity. U will find we on the east coast will welcome yall all day, every day.
Greetings from Central Florida-South Orlando area. Loving the pond fishing video!!! I only fish off of a boat when i rent one therefore i fish ponds all the time, its great to see this type of video from you guys!! Thank you, your content is always appreciated.
Hell yes thanks for bushwhacking it. Still saving up for my bass boat / mid-life crisis so this speaks to me more at this point. It'd be cool to see you (and Matt) fish a reservoir or lake from the shore as well.
This is the type of pond I am forced to fish, except the banks are steeper and uneven. I am maybe twice your age so I have to be more careful going through the grass. During the summer I can fish nothing with a treble hook so, like you, I am very limited. One other thing, mine is public water so it is well fished. But, you keep fishing what you have a keep looking for something else. Thanks for doing this video. It lets me know what to try.
Definitely right side. My thinking is that you said you've been getting cooler nights so the fish would start transitioning away from pads/slop and more into open water.
Great video Tim, since I'm a pond/bank fisherman. I'm used to crawling through brush, weeds, etc. to get to those sweet spots. For me, my first pick would have been a texas-rigged creature bait or worm, then a spinner, then a topwater.
Awesome it'd be amazing to see u and Matt do a bank fishing challenge the 2 best bass fisherman going out of their element and STILL producing. U guys rock.
One tip I find very helpful when frog fishing on a good bite, is keep a pair of pliers handy to get hooks out cause they will take it deep sometimes and just makes it quicker to get that hook out
I enjoy and learn from your bank/pond fishing videos, and I always pick up tips and strategies that are very useful to me. Always makes me want to head to the banks after watching!
This fall weather is nice. All summer I caught them on soft plastics Texas rigged weightless but that hasn't worked the past 2 weeks. I've been cycling through my baits to see what they want and I had success today. I caught a 4 and a 3 pounder on a pb&j finesse jig and I caught another 3 pounder on a dark sleeper. I caught 2 of them under a layer of floating dead grass right against the shore by punching through the grass layer.
If you and Matt are ever in Georgia, you both are welcome to fish my 47 acre pond in Baxley. The two biggest to come out it so far are a 13.8 and a 12.3.
Love the pond fishing vids! 75% it's all I have the time or equipment to do (outside of the occasional yak fishing). Keep it up fellas. ***Side note: those topwater ploppers and frogs aren't gonna fly in the coastal southeast ponds due to gators in nearly every single one. 😅
Funny you mention gators. Im new to the south but I was aware of a gator in the pond I was fishing. Lets just say I had a close call night fishing with a buzzbait and a gator coming full steam ahead about three feet from me. At first I thought it was a fast big turtle because its turnaround after seeing me was pretty silent and the mouth didnt look gator like but it was 4:00 a.m. Anyway yeah, no night fishing when gators are around. Lesson learned.
Thanks for making a pond video. Just moved from CA to AL in Aug and been getting ready to hit some pond fishing near the Birmingham Area. I have had the same experience, my family and I have experience a very welcoming experience here in the South. Different than Southern CA, but with the beautiful nature themes here, the people as well makes our move here feel like a great choice.
I'm about 2 hrs. west of you on the Al state line- welcome to Alabama man. If you love bass fishing then you've come to the right place, our state is full of world renown lakes like Pickwick, Wilson, Guntersville, Lewis Smith, etc., etc. I fish the BCDA lakes a lot- there are 4 I think, maybe 5- not sure. Upper Bear, Big Bear, Little Bear, and Cedar Creek- oh yeah, and Elliot Branch- so that's 5. Some of the best fishing we have in the state though is not in the lakes, it's in the spillways running out of the lakes. Every lake I go to I always check out the spillway- and often it's where I catch my best fish. They wash through the dam and then they're trapped in the spillway- makes it much easier to find them and there are far fewer ppl fishing for them so they're not as pressured.
Thank you for the tips and help for working a pond over! I'm just heading pond fishing up here in Wisconsin this afternoon and I'll be putting these tips to work.
Thank you for pond fishing!! It is my bread and butter. Kudos for wearing pants and boots! So many have on shorts and Crocs👎👎 Keep these videos coming!!!
Take out your spool and check if your pin is off centered on your curado dc. (Take out spool: left side brake pins right side is the pin) I had the same noise on my reel and I solved that noise by getting the pin centered.
I was fishing at night for catfish on a road with a culvert under it that separated 2 body’s of water and I was catching cats good. Later in the night I had a hit and set the hook into what I thought was a big flathead cat. It was pitch dark and I couldn’t see and the catfish swam up on the road about 10 yards away and I thought what the heck is going on. I walked and reeled up to it and my big catfish turned out to be a beaver I snagged in the front foot. They were using that culvert to swim back and forth.
I like how Tim said he doesn't usually take high-end combo's when he goes pond hopping and yet his 3 combo's were worth more than the 5 or 6 combo's that I have with me when I go out on my Kayak. Even if you leave the Bass-X/SLX combo out it's more $$$ than my 5 combo's (it might be close at this point) 😅
Love the pond videos. Ive fished my whole life but a lot more lately since I move to S Carolina and neighborhood ponds. I recently finally switched from mono to braid and I cant tell you how much better it is. I went from losing a lot of fish to losing none just by switching to braid. If you havent tried it and used mono your whole life, your game will be changed. A few of the benefits are: No stretch, so hook sets are much better. You can feel much more when a fish hits resulting in less gut hooking and what a nightmare that is. More lure selection too. Setting the hook w a frog on mono doesnt really work. Too much stretch in the line. Hook sets once again deeper which means less fish lost due to throwing the hook if it jumps. I went for ten lb braid for local small ponds. Another plus is less lures lost that get caught in a branch or something movable. A lot of the times you can muscle a branch out of the water if caught up. Another one might be no fish lost when the fish does something like take off violently which would usually break mono. ...My point is maybe you Tim and Matt maybe recommend braid more if people are frustrated with their fishing skills. Braid will get you out of amateur hour and LANDING more fish. Just a suggestion.
You would think with the 23,569 frogs I have, I wouldnt need anymore...NOPE...those new spro frogs look awesome...once I hit 24,000 frogs, I should be good👍
Need to brush hog a lot of spots! Vegistation will take over whole pond! Happened on our small pond at sportsmans club, took 2500 in chemicals, brush hog and excavator... Total 15k and 3yrs closing pond....
I just inherited a 125 acre farm with a 1.5 acre pond and I’m trying to get a gauge for what fish are in there. Already caught 2.8 lbs bass, 1 pound black crappie, and smaller bluegill. Any tips? Located in Kentucky.
Do you guys take the split ring off the line tie of vision 110 jerkbaits every time I tied my 10lb seaguar abrazx floracarbon line on with a uni knot and gave it a tug the line would snap thanks
The bass masters dabbling in common folk bank fishing-good stuff👍noticed u had 2 top waters rigged up. Is it due in part to snag factors from bank fishing?
Gratitude from a life-long shore/bank angler.
Our pleasure!
I needed a pond fishing video. I fish creeks and ponds mostly.
No lakes, rivers, creeks, canals, nothing? Just ponds?
@@timothytrotter1865 that’s right, just ponds. Only been fishing for about 3 years.
"Let's see how I'm gonna get this thing back in the water". *Does his best Payton Manning impression*
I rarely get invited onto a boat, so pond from the shore is the majority of my fishing. I always get excited when I see a pond video in the lineup. Thanks and keep them coming.
The odds of a pond video being posted when I’m about to go to a pond right now lol
Same tho!
I would like to see more pond video like this, this is awesome video
More ponds. Roots fishing🎣👍🏼
He's fishing a private pond that's not pressured. You can throw a cracker on a hook and catch bass. As a pond fisherman. I would like to see him fish a pressured pond. Just like all his viewers.
We need more videos like this and with the kayaks

This was a insta click lol need these right now 😂
Thanks for watching Jeremy!
Lmao same, dude. Same.
Love the "I Am Second" wrist band!
This could not have come at a better time. Thank you guys so much for the info!
I love when you guys switch it up and throw in a pond video here and there. Great content as always guys ✌🏽
Matt it's good to see u out in Tennessee being successful coming from a home where u had great success and familiarity. U will find we on the east coast will welcome yall all day, every day.
Yo! I took a double take at this thumbnail. I wasn’t expecting this style of video. What a good change of pace!
Those O.S.P soft plastics are a winner at any ponds.
Greetings from Central Florida-South Orlando area.
Loving the pond fishing video!!!
I only fish off of a boat when i rent one therefore i fish ponds all the time, its great to see this type of video from you guys!!
Thank you,
your content is always appreciated.
You should get your kayak in there next time if they would allow it. Another awesome video!
That would be cool!
God damn you took that one smaller guy for a hell of a ride lmao that bass now knows what it’s like to walk on water
Love the I am second bracelet I had one for awhile and it finally broke! That spro frog is epic looking tho !
Hell yes thanks for bushwhacking it. Still saving up for my bass boat / mid-life crisis so this speaks to me more at this point. It'd be cool to see you (and Matt) fish a reservoir or lake from the shore as well.
Back to your childhood type of fishing Tim. Very enjoyable, thanks.
It's really cool that you guys do pond videos also, not just lakes and reservoirs. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I can’t tell you how much us pond guys appreciate these videos, thank you!! Subscribed and I instantly “like” all your videos!🤝👍😬
Left side! Damnit nothing! 😆 the suspense on that 2nd to last cast was killing me! 😂

Love to hear that straight braid!!
Great video Tim, since I'm a pond/bank fisherman. I'm used to crawling through brush, weeds, etc. to get to those sweet spots. For me, my first pick would have been a texas-rigged creature bait or worm, then a spinner, then a topwater.
Always start with the thicker with a frog (left) but will absolutely try more on the right. So much fun. Thanks for the video
Awesome it'd be amazing to see u and Matt do a bank fishing challenge the 2 best bass fisherman going out of their element and STILL producing. U guys rock.
One tip I find very helpful when frog fishing on a good bite, is keep a pair of pliers handy to get hooks out cause they will take it deep sometimes and just makes it quicker to get that hook out
...midwest, not near any big lakes, mostly small lakes and ponds. this vid confirms what I have tied on for next time out
Thanks Tim, learning alot
This is what I'm talking about!!! Thank you for this video!
I enjoy and learn from your bank/pond fishing videos, and I always pick up tips and strategies that are very useful to me. Always makes me want to head to the banks after watching!
I picked the right side, It just looked darker to your right, great fishing regardless, you rock!!!
Great video Tim! We all love pond fishing! 👊🏼
“Should get bit one way or another…either on topwater or in my leg” 😹😹😹
Sounds about right
Heck yeah. I do bank fishing all the time. Mostly because I'm too lazy to launch. Love the vid. Right side
Love the frog bite

Why are you second? Great video. Loves these and can’t wait for more JET BOAT videos!!! Haha
right side for me, thanks again for another great video Tim
Glad you enjoyed it
If you and Matt are ever in Georgia, you both are welcome to fish my 47 acre pond in Baxley. The two biggest to come out it so far are a 13.8 and a 12.3.
Coordinates? Lol
Love the video. Your frog hookset is awesome!

Honestly one of my favorite frogs to is the Blitz buzz phrog, its just simple a effective.
Thank you for the tips and help for working a pond over! I'm just heading pond fishing up here in Wisconsin this afternoon and I'll be putting these tips to work.
Howd it work?
Love the pond content!
Do you more pond videos,we loved it
My go-tos for ponds like that are baby brush hogs, 1/4 -3/8 ounce spinnerbait and a frog
Nice ditch pickles!
Need more videos like that 👍👍👍
Enjoyed this video.
Nice vid. Struggling with my current pond. Its a tricky place to fish.
Thanks for showing what it's really like. I guessed "Wrong".
Beautiful pond nothing a brush hog and a chainsaw couldn’t clean up quickly or maybe wait till the time is right and burn it off great video as always
Well done tim,send water
Most definitely right... id give that texas a sgot there too.
Glad you like Tennessee Tim you and Matt can come to Lawrence county Tennessee and fish the creeks or lakes with me anytime!!!!
Wp's work on still ponds also.. i always have my success on a rough water windy days... good going!!
Using braid I hear. Great video 📹 Thanks 😊 👍
I want to see fishing pressured pond places
Thank you for pond fishing!! It is my bread and butter. Kudos for wearing pants and boots! So many have on shorts and Crocs👎👎 Keep these videos coming!!!
That was🔥 bring the yak at the next pond.
Jon boat baby!!😁
Left, it looks really promising for the frog.
You guys need to come and do some pond videos near chicago, its ridiculously hard to catch bass in cook county
Left and awesome video

Hospitality is great in the south... bring them an apple pie one day day next week around 5ish to repay the favor
That water is as smooth as glass on the top and you're getting top water bites!

I like to play them out rather then drag them in like it’s a tournament.
Me too I don't know why you would want to bring them flying in that fast lol.

Great video today!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Dang it 🤣 left was crap.
Hope you brought your tick spray for this trip!!!
I picked left. Was wrong. I have 2 little boys and we have been hitting these small Fla ponds lately. Always looking for tips.
Quick question when does fall start if you're in central Florida and it's still 85゚
I dont think florida or georgia have a fall😂 it stays 85° through january lol
Lol as a PA boy born and bred I agree with you. But what do my fish think lol?
Late September overnight temperatures are a little cooler (relatively speaking). They seem to start moving early morning and close to sunset.
Same with AZ it's still 100
It doesn’t.
I'd probably go right, and slow drag that Texas rig along the bank line.
Good call! I tried but could only get bit on the topwater.
Gotta give them what they want. Nice work!
Lol haven't caught many crazy things but i have caught a seagul lol
I got my spro frog 2 days ago, I like it but, haven’t caught a bass on it yet.
My golf course ponds are turning up I've caught some toads the past couple weeks on a buzzbait and a wacky rig
That’s why my spool messes up from the hook set I could never understand stand why after I catch some fish my next cast gets hung up in the spool
Need to brush hog a lot of spots! Vegistation will take over whole pond! Happened on our small pond at sportsmans club, took 2500 in chemicals, brush hog and excavator... Total 15k and 3yrs closing pond....
