I love it and will never go back. Being able to have CarPlay and use Waze makes it’s worth it. Expensive but looks so much nicer than the myfordtouch it had. And I did not have a nav version before.
This is great info, I have a 2013 Raptor that i’m about to upgrade to Sync 3, is there a mod on the website that will also allow the front camera to be turned on on-demand?
I honestly am not sure. I only have an FX4 so no front cameras. But from looking around on the internet, it looks like there is a way to do it. But it's complicated. It looks like you can get an after market camera and a switcher to do it. Reason is the front camera is controlled by the IPBM, not through SYNC. The other option is after jailbreak, you will need to go through the same process that you do for the front camera originally, being in 4WD, Diff Locked, all that stuff, then it will allow the camera to activate at any speed. Not sure if you need to do it EVERY time you start the truck, of its a one time thing and it stays. This is what I found on a FordRaptor Forum "Found about about fmods.net a Sync 3 modding community. I jailbroke my Sync 3 APIM, installed the Rear Camera On Demand and Enhanced Status Bar mods. After turning on the camera in the cluster & 4H+RELD+ORM or 4L, I can now click a button in the top left of the Sync 3 screen to turn on the front camera at any speed. This is even an improvement over Sync 2 which cuts you off over 15mph. The camera now works very closely to how Sync 4 does where you can jump in and out of the camera view. You can also toggle between front camera and back camera by using the cluster camera enable/disable." It looks like you would need to go into the settings in the camera and enable the front camera and disable the back camera depending on what one you want to view on demand. As the button will only enable one. Hopefully this helps a little.
