    Yes, I fell into the water on my first try this morning. Then did better. Then I watched your video. So many great tips. Thanks. I know I’ll get better each time.

    Excellent instruction. I managed a step back turn on my first go after watching this. Did a few more and only fell in once. Thank you!!

    Indeed! Although I do have a good notion of how to turn the board. This - undoubtedly - will be the trickiest manueovre to master. And I could end up in the drink - several times - because of it. I shall continue to review. Accordingly.

      Definitely end up in the drink. I did last week on a big, wide inflatable! 😂 keep concentrating and you will nail it. Beau

      And also - look at it. This way ! At least I will get a lot more practice of getting back onto the paddle board! 😉🤭 That, at the least is singularly useful! 😆

    Thanks for the video brother. I hope trying to learn this will make me feel more comfrortable with my footwork. Thus far I feel like moving my feet even a little bit can throw me off balance.

      Glad to hear you like the video. Keep practicing and you'll be able to move your feet easier! Thanks, Beau

    Really nice explanation. Had my first stab at it today - I think you were being a bit optimistic by saying I might get wet “a few times” 😂

      LOL, Ok maybe but thats part of the fun.

      Charlie Pinker - I'm under NO doubt or illusion that the step back turn is likely to be the most problematic for me. I'm expecting to be in the drink, several times and getting a very good practice of getting back onto the paddle board, by the outcome of this.
      I am - wisely - pursuing practicing reboarding the paddle board for the coming Monday and expect that once I am sopping wet - I will actually stand up on the paddle board. This double objective is likely to be met on the 15th of this month.

    Nice video, thanks. I was wondering though, when turning the other way, do you put the other foot behind or do you just switch you paddle to the other side?

    • @SUPboardermag
      @SUPboardermag  5 років тому +2

      You could do that Daeron but the most common way is to keep your feet the same and switch your paddle over to the other side. That would be call a backside turn. Tip, Your paddle strokes will be much shorter when doing this. Thanks Reuben

    The noise I get is the end of the strap flapping as I place my buckle on top of the board. Easy fix is to wrap the strap around both tighten straps so the very end is only loose at the most of about an inch for no flapping sound.

    • @SUPboardermag
      @SUPboardermag  4 роки тому

      That will work. Another great tip. Thanks

    Is it possible to doc this turn when you have passengers? Ie a 20kg kid in front? I imagine not

    • @SUPboardermag
      @SUPboardermag  Рік тому

      It is possible, but you won't get the nose very high off the water. Just make sure the kid hangs on!
