There are a few comedians who do really great crowd work, but Mark has the quickest wit. It's amazing how quickly he fires back with a one-liner that sounds like a written joke.
They are written. He literally writes these for all these scenarios and especially has at least a couple ready to go for each topical thing. If you see his tweets, that's him testing stuff out. Then he tries it on stage

Jesus Christ, this makes me appreciate the staff at Wiseguys even more than I already did.
Some back-and-forth banter is always fun, but the drunken blathering is so annoying. Mark is such a pro, he just keeps it all rolling. What a champ. I would panic and clam up immediately. I have so much respect for people who can command an audience so deftly.
I always thought Jimmy Carr was the king of dealing with hecklers but Mark is on another level. Genius 🙏

@@Nayo68 been to see him, that didn't seem to be the case. He was dealing with trouble making hecklers brilliantly. He's got the gift of the gab, he doesn't need plants.
@@Nayo68 I was going to say, plant or not, it seems to me like Carr's replies are pre-made. He's got a holster of zingers and picks one. It's not really relevant to what the heckler said. Normand cooks it up on the spot. It's relevant and the examples I've seen were way better.

Thanks for posting this, Mark! You are a master of your craft. It's amazing to see that you have to fight people to get out that great material you write. I thought coming up with the good jokes would be the hardest part, but clearly it's the drunk fans hazing you. What's really weird is that the worst hecklers are the people that are your biggest fans. Never woulda thought.

When i very first heard mark, i thought he was using some type of fake radio voice and i didnt like it.... which is just one of many examples that i'm an idiot.. he is such a beast.. he is in my top 10 for sure. One of the funniest and quick witted man on the planet!! If anyone is familiar with the JRE "save the parks" episodes with joe, mark, ari and gillis... marks kills the whole time

My favorite thing about Mark is when he's on a podcast with multiple people and he just keeps blurting out single words that he heard a few minutes prior. Like on the latest Protect our Parks they were all talking about visiting the necropolis in Spain and like forty minutes later Mark just jumps in and says NECROPOLIS EYYY. Or they were talking about having girls come over to your pad and he just blurts out PAD THAI EYYYY. 😂😂
