- In this clip, Big Chief talks about the history of OKC street racing and how he got to be the organizer of every race for a spot on the Top 10 list. Street Outlaws premieres Dec. 2 at 10/9c on Discovery Channel.
You guys can hate on this show all you want.. fact of the matter is .. we have nothing else like it and as a drag racer I love it.. I love the personalities of all the guys and I love the racing. Are they street cars? Fck no they aren't street cars.. Are they fast azz cars ON the street.... Yes they are... hoping for season 3. I love Big Chief's car!

I usually do not comment on this videos, but this time I just had to. Chief, your a cool dude and alot like me. My first two cars were 69' Gran Prix's, a 400 auto first, then an SJ 428 4 speed. Yes a very rare Pontiac. After getting beat by a Big Block Chevy one night, I pulled the 428 and went to a 427 Chevy, 4:88 gears, brass clutch, super T10 3 ring input shaft(Corvette trans. 3:08 first gear) Verti-gate shifter, aluminum fuel cell, ladder bars, 1/2 fuel line, electric pump, etc. all the goodies for back in the late 80's. Back then there was no nitrous on cars, at least on the street. We had Woodman Drive in Dayton Ohio. It was a drag strip 7 days a week back then. My best friend (like Sean to you) also had a 70 Nova, 38 inch Dana 60 6:17 gears, 36x17x16 Goodyear Top Fuel slicks off of a drag car from the US Nationals in Columbus. 355 small block 12:1 comp. 650 lift roller big tub headers, Phase III Bowtie heads 2.05 intakes. All bad ass stuff for back then. Also a Super T10 , brass clutch car, Strange axles, 14 point cage, all fiberglass hood, doors, deck lid bumpers, Lexan windows through out. Aluminum firewall, tubs, and floors. Drove it all over town on 76 race fuel that was just $2.25 a gal. back then. Then went to VP fuels when they came out. I could definitely get into hanging out with you guys anytime. Fake show or not, it is about the racing, just like you said. There will always be haters, and let them be the miserable people that they are. I also lost a good friend, but in a drag racing accident on Woodman Drive, using nitrous in a T/A with a BBC 4 speed. The first race he used NOS, killed him. Lost traction when he shifted into second and hit the juice. Caught the curb, took out a tree, a light pole and hit a house. Killed him and his girlfriend at just 19 and 18 years of age. After that, we all started racing out on the highway late at night, like you all do.
I can't race because I don't have a car but I love going to the dragstrip the sound of the car's and that sweat race fuel smell it gets me happy
I drive a MB c300 every day, and when it is nice I take out me 2011 911 GTS. I don't have any american cars, but I love Street Outlaws. Fucking up every one and having a great time. This is what life is all about. Great job!!!

After i moved from Oklahoma (I'm a native) i always wondered what happened to those boys. Airport blvd. was fun, in midwest city it was a place for the kids to cruise. In okc we would meet up and race. Fun times.

You would waste your time watching 12 second quarter mile cars racing? That sounds boring as fuck. Not to mention "daily driven" means driving in a foot of snow through the winters where I live. I doubt many people drive 12 second cars in the snow.

I street raced in the San Fernando Valley back in the '70's. Back then, anyone with a car could race. Every car drove to races and could be driven daily. Regular guys with regular cars. Now, the cars you see are mega bucks. Engines costing what a house would cost. I dove a '68 Vette with a 454 and 4 speed. I also took it on dates. These are not street cars, street racing, so the only time I watch is when nothing else is on. It would be interesting to know how much they get paid for the show and what each one does for a living. Then again, it is Oklahoma, where the cost of living is a lot cheaper than Southern California.

What is the BIG DEAL with trailering your car to the spot?
A gal of race fuel is expensive, there are only so many runs you can put on a set of slicks they don't corner well and are magnets to road hazards and did I mention "Expensive"
And when your race tune is set, if you drive it around you are going to have to change it.
So if you wanna race then race!!!

Chief, as a car guy and a fan I have two easy questions for you. #1 how hard is it to set up your car so the injectors and turbos are working at the most efficient way possible and completely together? I still feel like you're playing with the set up to see what setup puts the most power down without blazing them off around the 60,90' ? And 2nd question, please dig deep....let us fans know/ (out of respect we don't need details) what happened to your best bud Flip? I hate reading the bs on the internet that might not be factual. Her seemed like a great guy, friend and car guy like most of us. Set it straight Chief....just once.

okie here... one thing I really don't get about the show. u got murder nova in the top and a guy in the bottom position.. that guy in the bottom had NO chance in hell to bear M-nova.. so why in the hell have positions..? also I was at the 11-9-13 no prep.. and them cars do go pretty fast.. too bad supra broke at line up for the true street =(
39th Street back in the day...that was real street racing all way the out into the country. I don't know any of these clowns who claim they're OGs running things, save for Chuck who used to work on my freaking nitrous Honda 20 years ago when he was a tech at the Honda dealer.

Yeah the show might be fake it if you think these guys don't go out and race illegally or haven't been for years then you don't know what the fuck you're talking about. Just because the show is fake for tv don't mean the guys racing are fake. I swear people are dumb, it gives me a migraine headache thinking down to their level. These cars get 3 miles to the gallon. How you gonna drive to the race? Of course they trailer it
And most of there cars especially the top guys have full blown 2500 HP race cars, if a cop sees them they are very likely to get pulled over not to mention most of those cars are not street legal. Big Chief if im not mistaken has drag radials which are not street legal and he also has a wheelie bar.

This is perfect bait. If you want to bait a racer to take his money-you wouldn't normally let them know you are faster than they are. You would make it seem like you are slower-and then get them to bet a lot of money and kick their ass. By saying that 'OKC has the fastest street race cars in America' whether they are or not doesn't really matter- now everybody wants to race 'em because they say they are the fastest. The OKC boys have fresh blood to race against, obviously stout race cars and a killer TV show. Hat's off to the 405. Very cool setup.

Street raced cars. All oklahoma cars ARE street legal minus the slicks. All these comments about fake this and fake that. UA-cam search all the info. It will show, BY DATE of UPLOAD..... Any and all of these cars on the track AND driving on the street. If u want it, here it is. Come and get it, and bring cash. We LOVE cash!

I like this show. But saying this is street racing is borderline untrue. These cars can't even drive on the street. Street racing should be street legal cars racing on the street. And when that guy got beat in a 1500HP GTR... haha yeah fuggin right.
The cars in this show leave harder than 99% of the 1000+ hp GT-Rs in existence. The Alpha Omega GT-R has 2000hp and it runs high 7s. Most of the cars on these shows would go mid 7s in the 1/4 if not faster. It's not hard to believe that a GT-R with that kind of power on the tires it was on, got walked by a car that was dialed in and weighs considerably less.
