It took only one very inteligent creative man with one computer to create an experience that people who played it back in the day will remember forever. Eternal classic.
this making of is so great. It answers many questions about the background of the game, its fantastic. I loved it as a child and do so now.
I promise, if THIS game had a prequel nowadays, and the game is longer and again filled with great riddles and atmosphere, i would buy it. Many would do so. Id prefer it to 3D games or the likes by far
I loved this game as a kid. I love it no less today. :)
Same here... Absolutely loved that stuff. And the ending song 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Huge THX for the game from Hungary!
Back in the days I played this masterpiece on Amiga 500...awesome.
Theres a whole concept in this game, about the character personality, melancholic feelings, dream and nightmare atmosphere, inovative visual (even for today) that we dont see anymore in game industry these days! Just boring 3D endless and meaningless action fullfilled with visual concept cliches...
And a guy made it all by himself just with another sound professional! Outstanding!
My favorite game of all time. An amazing piece of video game history and art.
when i saw this as a kid i was stunned! still very epic to this day! classic!
You are awesome Eric
I used to play it over and over and then go on with time myself how fast I could clear it - it took me around 20-25 minutes if you kept from dying too much at all.
What lovely memories guys! :'(
Thank you.
Use to play the hell out of this game on my SNES. Don't remember ever beating it, but still enjoyed the hell out of it
They may call the line Matsuba, but the internet will probably forever remember it as Mycaruba now.
Thanks Eric for "Out of This World" from USA.
Now I know that it isn't Mike Aruba/Mycaruba bur rather Matsuba!
Why would you think it's "Mike Aruba"?? It doesn't even sound like that... I always thought it sounds like "mytsuba". I guess I was close.
@@symphony137 don't know why you're replying to a 3 yr old comment but.. ua-cam.com/video/pfN_bnb3Rz0/v-deo.html
This guy started it all, that game inspired me alot
One of the best Video Games, a truly classic.
@elsewhereify that comment was actually a private joke with the uploader of this video, it actually has nothing to do with Another World which is a classic game. :3
I remember surviving and making to the tower...and being able to look out into the landscape after running around in the tunnels....it was like a glimpse into the actual world my mind had created....seems silly now with xbox blah blah 3d blah blah...but back then it was really inspiring. Seriously addicting stuff...
I almost thought i was dreaming when i found it for the iPhone/iPad!!
He says that they wanted an ending with electric guitar samples, and "as that was never done before"!
Amiga user's all over the world know the game over scene from Shadow Of The Beast II.
Excellent atmosphere, the graphics, colours, the music, the storyline... We all had to sit together and work out how to beat the puzzles, at the back the mind wondering is there gonna be a war with the alien people lol, you got to lose lives many times before much of the game even makes sense, Maybe the best computer game I ever played... I would recommend it for gamers today!
this game is pure art. love it! its like a dream!
Abe's Oddysee, Abe's Exoddus, Flashback, Heart of Darkness and Another world, my favorite platformgames.
they should totally make a movie out of this game.
Eric is the man
Merci beaucoup :)
the birth of Miniclip and Addicting Games
Thanks for this. ;) love this game.
His last game was called 'From Dust.'
He reminds me alot of me when I'm in my productive phases.
Genius !
@elsewhereify Yeah, didn't think about that at the time, figuring it was an absurd enough claim to post here without causing any real offense. Oh well, youtube comments are soon forgotten.
Great Great Great!
I want to see movie based on this
Back from when videogames were the offspring of people's souls. Awesome.
This game was done in 1991...
Amigaaaaaaaa!
one of the best games ever
Why isn't this on xbox live or psn????, really miss this game :(
The Game was FAR AHEAD of the time. My Favorite game for years.
After that, it's okay to rethink how you feel about sci-fi fans and computer nerds.
@blade004 It's Chahi's latest project, a sort of sandbox thing. v=r8nABQLSfmU

`matsuba` means "Look! A three-headed money!"
@beavus1000 Let's not even make that comparison.
Best Game Ever... Matsuba!
Yes, I was joking.

Eric Chahi:
"In fact, for me the game doesn't exist
It doenst exist on the screen
but it exists in the players mind"
Unfortunately we never will see it again: a game developer say clever things like that, or even transfer these ideais fully into the game concept!
Mike Arumba
Limbo is a bit reminiscent of this game...
I didn't know that. I played it it was ok I enjoyed the art style but the game play was just ok sadly.
Mycaruba
@beavus1000 Even the most mediocre footnotes in gaming are better than Black Ops.
Mycruba. B^)
