I'm pretty happy to bring you guys this comprehensive video about the Playdia, because it's just so darn weird. Not to mention it's actually a pretty cool looking system.
(Also, you have no idea how little history/people care about this console. The amount of digging I did for this research borderlines on actual insanity. ...It was not worth it.)
Hope you enjoy! :)

I'm always amazed at how many obscure consoles there are that are new to me
holnrew Ha! I thought I was the only one that was thinking that.
The ouya is another obscure console
holnrew same 😌
super weird to see this thing
Educational, Home, Console. Three words that should never be combined. Just hearing those out loud i felt a chill through my soul.
Great video, your production value has come on strides and your screen presence is very natural. Nice job!
Thank you! Still have a long way to go but I'm learning
TheGohthecrow ???
Make more videos they're so great:)
Another obscure piece of hardware I haven't seen yet, awesome! The company history on BanDai was also something I've never heard before so this whole video is great. Keep up the awesome work Kelsey, just put out videos more often!
Thanks so much! Was a little worried I overdid it with the Bandai history but I think it sorta leads to the "why" they would even think about jumping into a crowded console market.
Kelsey Lewin I completely agree, it was a very informative setup for the rest of the story. It's always good to have context to go with obscure items rather than just, "Here's this weird thing." I already can't wait for your next video lol.
I quite enjoyed the history side of it, lot of information I didn't know. I kinda hope you do more videos that give more history of companies as well that was very well done!
The Bandai history was my favorite part, maybe the history of these kinds of companies could be a new series.
This is one of my favorite UA-cam channels. Thanks for all of this info about a system that I didn't know was even a thing. I love to learn about Japanese things so I hope to see more videos like this in the future.
"hot garbage" lol you just made my day.
and she wasn't kidding.. oof, no wonder that bombed .. $230 USD for that? wow
Considering a CD-ROM drive for a PC could cost you $200US at the time it was not a bad price all things considering.
I love your videos so much! Not enough people tap in to the weird/obscure history stuff. I could totally see you doing a video on the Casio Loopy 😄
I've gotten like 4 comments from girls about the Casio Loopy which makes me extremely happy! I've always wanted one so it's definitely on the list of consoles to cover :)
Kelsey Lewin you should do a video on the Segarra Master System Girl from Tectoy. I'm sure you have heard of it.
Kelsey Lewin haha that's awesome. Can't wait!
I will need to get you a spot on the history/documentary channel. Your structure and delivery is second to none!
Can't find this good of content on these systems except from Kelsey! Keep making videos your good at it.
Thanks for this very informative video, Kelsey. I always feel like having watched a documentary at the end of your videos due to the high amount of research that goes into them from your side. That's why it's even interesting to see something about an obscure console from decades ago - you know your stuff. Always worth watching!
A new video from you is always a time to rejoice. You've really come a long way in your presentation. Your videos are now up there with the best.
I'd never heard of this, thanks for the introduction. Besides this, you've also helped me learn more about Namco, the Mark III, and Pokemon obscurities. I really appreciate the effort and research you put into your work.
It's cool they repurposed those for arcade. Nicely done! I love the obscure. My kids would love this system.
Only if they can read, write, and speak Japanese, since all the games are in Japanese. lol! Although if you can find the right MPEG1 container it might be possible to use one as a VCD player.
Great video! Very informative, good laughs and overall a very enjoyable history of the console and Bandai to boot. Looking forward to more, as you're only getting better with each you create.
Now that's one that I've truly never heard of until now. Very interesting Kelsey. I like your videos and the way you present things in them. Keep up the good work!
Never heard of the Playdia. Thanks for the video Kelsey. People like you keep the retro gaming alive and I love it!
yoooo... your videos are good, Kelsey. you talk with so much confidence into the camera and your videos are so full of knowledge.
You are the real deal....I wish you taught my history of games class! I think when you get older developers and publishers will start reaching out to you for consultation so keep it up!
For all the "obscure system" videos I end up watching on UA-cam I've never heard of this one. Nice work, always awesome to see a video with you in it :)
amazing thanks i never knew about this gen5 console. your videos are cool and informative the only downside is that they're only few.... really looking forward for more! many thanks that you put time and effort to bring us this cool content!
Wow, so cool to see another console I never knew existed. As usual very well made and researched video! Keep up the awesome work.
great job/vid Kelsey. Never knew Playdia even existed. Now, thanx to you, I know all I ever care to know about it. Amazing you can make something like this interesting.
of your dbz fan then the playida viosn of plan to erdcate the saiyans wood be ebst vison you want to watch
Best video yet, didn't seems as roboticly scripted / she seams more comfortable and it was really entertaining. good job
Great video Kelsey, I love your video game history type videos :)
Informative! Keep up the good work, Kelsey.
Top notch content right here! What a great video. You're really getting the hang of this. Thanks for the entertainment!
Thank you for this entertaining, thoughtful, and refreshing video. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
awesome Kelsey. Really like how your videos are put together. Also doesn't hurt to have a pretty laddy to look at while I'm nerding out😜
Most negative reviews of retro consoles: "Should you get it? Well... I can only recommend it if you're a hardcore collector."
Kelsey: "This is hot garbage. Avoid."
Not beating around the bush AT ALL. Love it!
Great episode Kelsey! Keep 'em coming!
THAT'S THE CONSOLE! That's the console with the Dragonball Z: Plan to Destroy the Saiyans game on it! I've been wondering what console it was from. I haven't seen anyone talk about the Bandai Playdia until now. They re-released Dragonball Z: Plan to Destroy the Saiyans movie on Dragon Ball Z Raging Blast 2, but it was re-animated and lost all it's 90's anime grit. Thanks for bringing this to my attention Kelsey!
Thanks for teaching me about something I probably didnt need to know, but still had a fun time learning about.
I love hearing video game history, even if it's about a flop of a console 😄. Great video BTW,you kept it short and sweet. Very informative, without boring us with unimportant facts. Keep up the great work.
Very interesting. I had never heard of this game console. Great vid Kelsey!
Very comprehensive and informative. Thanks for the vid!
This is a beautiful video! I am really glad to have been recommended this. Great channeld
First video in months.. But well worth the wait! Great job on the vid!
awesome video as always! had no idea how many weird and obscure consoles existed
I really enjoy your videos. I hope you do more on a regular basis.
you are definitely improving on the video recording and becoming gold grade . always love ya work
Awesome video, you always seem to pack a lot of information into them :)
Thanks for sharing! Love the history
Kelsey, I just saw this “console” sitting on a collector’s shelf and has never heard of it before. (I have a Wonderswan, but this… I had no clue about.) You presented it well and thank you for saving me the trouble of ordering one just so I could ultimately roast it into oblivion on my channel. It doesn’t need to be a waste of my money and time. Haha.
This was a fascinating and very educational video. Sounds like a cd-based Sega Pico. Thank you for your efforts!
Kelsey your vids are awesome. I learn a lot about obscure consoles and gaming related stuff. Your voice is also nice to listen. I'm so glad that I found Metaljesus and saw you in one of his vids.
P.s you look cute too 😅
Hiiiiii, I've seen you on a dozen or so metaljeez videos, and I've finally made it over to your channel. I have to say, this was a great video! Keep the content coming! I'd love to learn about your store and business experiences as they relate to the swings of the retro video game market.
really nice and informative video. keep up the great work!
Thanks Kelsey. I love your content and hope to see more.
Just heard about the Playdia. Found your video, watched it and now I'm a Playdia expert! Thank you!
Love your videos, always interesting. Keep up the great work! :D
I love your reviews. Hope you have time to make more content!
This was so much better than yours previous videos, I loved it!
Great video, Kelsey! I almost thought I was watching the Gaming Historian!
Awesome video Kelsey! I've never heard of this console before. Thanks for sharing :-)
That thing must be obscure and rare, since I've never heard of it until watching this video. Cool vid Kelsey.
I first heard about this thing when I was about 14ish so around 99 or so. It was a mysterious system no one knew anything about, then I forgot all about, and now Kelsey has it explained. Nice, thanks for that bud.
Awesome video! I had never heard of this console before!
Hey Kelsey! Wow! I've never even HEARD of the Playdia! Cool video!...also how was your E3? I was hoping we'd get Animal Crossing for the Switch but other than that it was great. I saw you at the Nintendo booth, thanks for taking the time to say hi. It was my first time at E3. Really crowded!
Thanks for saying hi :) I hope everyone get animal crossing news soon too
I have never heard of this console! Thank you for another great video!
Awesome videos! Keep them coming :)
after the new algorithm it appears the standard became 10-ish minute videos, but kelsey just prefers to leave us wanting more :(
I did expect to see more game footage and more details on the acessories. Great video nonetheless :)
40k subs with just 7 videos. You're nailing it, great job!
Keep the videos coming! Keep up the good work!
Yay!!! New video!!! :D It is very interesting, I have never heard of this gaming system before!!
Just want to say, be proud of yourself Kelsey. You've made alot of progress
Awesome video as always and wow! What an obscure console!
Thank-you for the great content. I've learnt alot from your channel.
Good to see you back. I missed you.
Very interesting video! I love all those obscure consoles Japan came out with we never got stateside.
Great surprise, great video as always.
You're great Kelsey! Many thumbs up!
Short, sweet, and informative. You're a star.
Kelsey! I love you! :P
Btw, That playdia thing kinda reminds me of the sega CD and its full motion video games.
I enjoyed the video. It is always nice to learn about obscure consoles. I have been replaying the original .hack// series and I noticed that the characters in the game are eagerly awaiting the release of a new Bandai console called the WonderHawk. It seems they were very optimistic about the WonderSwan's future at that point.
Awesome video keep them coming!
Great Video as always!!
Great job on the video Kelsey
Excellent video Kelsey 👍
enjoying your vids dude keep em coming. good shit.
very informative! also, love your shirt
I enjoy these obscure videos. Thx :D
Great video!
Keep this great content coming :)
We need more Kelsey! Love from London 🇬🇧
This was really good, had no idea of that console even existing. You seemed to like it.
I always look forward to your videos on obscure Japanese products, keep it up!
Great video, Kelsey! It'd be so cool to see you cover the Casio Loopy sometime, too - that console is so cute and has a lot of interesting stuff on it. ^_^
That's definitely a console I plan to cover! Mostly because I've always wanted one :p
Great video. Keep them coming.
Very well researched!
Good to see some Sentai stuff tied in. I always see people talk Bandai in Japan and focus on just Sailor Moon, DBZ, and Gundam, but gloss over Toku. (You should talk more toku games, like that SNES Carranger game with the exclusive FX Chip)
I feel like I'd want this for the novelty more than genuine function. Good find
Interesting! Love the obscure histories. Good case studies if you're a business person. I like the one you did on the console that was repurposed for finance and gambling.
Me: Damn I Hate When Someone Posts at 4 in the morning
Kelsey: OH BOY 4 AM
Love Ya Kelsey
Haha! Not planning on promoting it til a reasonable hour but I figured I might as well release it as soon as it's done ;)
Haha right on!
Plenty of people watch that it's well into the morning already...
You love this girl who you never met? That's a little creepy.
This channel is underrated this woman knows her stuff, I thought she was only a guest at metaljesus' channel, new sub from me.
Nice to see a person not praising a console on which they made a video on...
Great video Kelsey
Great video Kelsey.
Another console I've never heard of. Thanks for sharing!
Learned something new today. Nice job on the video. Subbed
Finally, yay a new video!! Keep it going haha
Never heard of this... Now I know why... Thanks Kelsey!
