It's been almost a week since the official launch of Wuthering Waves and there has been SO MUCH information being discovered about the game in such a short amount of time. In a previous video, I made the statement that Wuthering Waves felt like there was no reason to build teams, but since release all of that has changed. In this video, Iyo breaks down what all players should look out for when it comes to maximizing your damage output and synergy when building teams in Wuthering Waves.

Just a heads up! This vid was recorded BEFORE WuWa officially launched. Had some fixups the Editor and I needed to take care of before releasing, but don't worry! I've done a lot of the testing that I said I was going to do and still plan on releasing an updated/intermediate (or advanced) guide about team building for everyone in the coming weeks. I saw a couple comments saying you guys wanted to know how to build a character though? Can y'all elaborate on that for me so I can prep it.
Encore Guide please. I have been using her at S1 and she is very fun to play as. Going into her ult feels like a completely different character which is cool.

Anything greater than solo is a team effort. Synergy between two characters is still synergy and thus a team. Respectfully 🙏🙏

I think most of player right now has problem to leveling gold echo to +25 for 3 characters that they won't even start to care about team building. resources are so scarce at this point as game doesn't let you feed unwanted +0 echo as exp. average player that aren't good on fighting game/souls game they can only depend on gear power to overcome hard fight.

id be more interested in content focused around investment to get us started atm
my tip rn is to hyper invest (+25 all) on 2 main dps, supports only need the set effect. I cleared floor 4 tower with calcharo and rover as my dps and the supports all have unlvled energy and healing set, coupled with bell turtle
@@vinhinh6810 This is what I did, I focused on 2 dps then just used set bonuses for other characters with little or literally no investment whatsoever
I will do the same as some here said. I will focus just on two dps, Danjin and MC. Both use swords so i have free 4* wep selector and i will only farm Havoc dmg echoes. For Verina i will just get the set without caring too much about stats for now. Same with Mortefi. Im barely union level 20 so im just starting to farm bosses and then echoes. I would advice against using the merge function for like databank lvl 15+
@@sagansagan5395 MC and Danjin are currently a wombo combo team, not to stop you from going that route. Because of the double Dreamless echo.
Some teams literally just need 2 units, for the only reason being that switching between 3 characters is more a hindrance than a buff. Like Calcharo and Yinlin they switch so we'll with each other that switching to anyone (other than verina since her outro and buffs take 1 sec to use) just makes the whole rotation feel weird. I think going forward it could be a cool perspective on skill based team building where you COULD slot in some type of heal/support OR you run a 2 man team with characters that switch well with each other for more DPS and better rotations overall. Great video!
How do you gay verina’s outro and ult so fast? It takes me ages to get her outro up and longer for her ult even with variation s2
@JJ-mn3nd So you wanna build full Energy Regen on her. Have 2 "energy regen" echoes for your 2, three cost slots.
So it'll look like
4 cost = healing bonus
3 cost = energy regen
3 cost = energy regen
1 cost = attack%
1 cost = attack%.
On the healing set.
Max all the echoes to lvl 25 (if they're 5 star echos) or just max the energy regen echoes and you should be fine. Remember you can also roll energy regen on substats, so once you have enough energy regen when you swap into her you attack like once, cast skill, cast echo and boom ult is up.

@dr.strange1300 ok I see, the only problem is I have horrible luck with energy regen and what do you do about her outro? I find it takes a long time to get her outro as well, or does er effect outri regen as well?

I think people saying that team building is pointless doesn't know how the game and characters work.
We truly understand what constitutes team-building in WuWa. It's just that I think you rxpect htme to go for the traditional Hoyo-style team building or or the MMO trinity of DPS, Tank and Healer.
Team building in WuWa is ironically more flexible because they opted for the team-building to be based on each of the character's kit, elements, and the echoes.

After watching gatcha smack he made me pull her. No regrets.
She is amazingly smooth character to play, you won't regret having her on you're team
My first two teams will be JianXin, YangYang, and Jiyan (When I get him) and Calcharo and Yinlin (When I get her). If I'm unlucky and can't get Yinlin then I'm going to have Taoqi & Mortefi be my support.
After those 2 then my third will have Baizhi, Sanhua, and Jinhsi. (Even with all teams accounted I'll still be miscellaneously working on Rover)

Should be the theme for Suoh City in Scarlet Nexus. I always loved hearing it
I think there's some room for player expression. Like how player styles may not always be meta sort of like how right now there's people who run Calcharo with Sanhua, Mortefi, or Jianxin, they all buff but they kinda are different flavors in a sense.
I also think that characters not being to solo is also a level thing. Seeing as no one is max yet

Absolutely! It’ll take a bit tho since that’s a lot of research per team, but I’ll do my best.
The Scarlet Nexus music is making me nostalgic. Had so much fun with that game.
I’m just building calcharro, sanhua and verina as my main team now on my main account
I have rc1 calcharo with verdant summit and I’m not sure if I should get jiyan since I have his weapon or just save for yinlin
unless u love calcharo alot then id say if u have jiyans sword u should pull for jiyan. hes one of the best dps if not the best. him paired with hos sword will make him better than calcharo
My first team consists of Jianxin, Jianxin and Jianxin
My second team is of Danjin, Danjin and Danjin

Jianxin is hella underrated, great damage, survivability, crowd control and AOE plus her and Mordefi just nukes

Could you please make a weapon guide video? I haven't used my free 4* box and I know it'll be the same when I get the free 5* one at lvl 45. I'm hesitant of wasting resources especially as a f2p atm
6:53 Chixia and Yuanwu is my balanced team. The former got that DPS in her outro skill while the other has better break in his intro. Plus he has an impressive voice line when chosen that gives me chills.
Is there anyway to make use of the unwanted enchos that i leveled to 25 but with shit substats rolls. The only thing i see is the delete button
you use them to level up a new echo, at 80% efficiency.
Got Jiyan in 30 pulls, so I'm happy. Now I'm saving for Yinlin❤

I think Calcharo is about to get nerfed when Yinlin is released because the duo is too broken.. however Yinlin might be getting a buff..

I personally don’t like the plant loli. I’m currently building Yuanwu into my team, but because of his defence, he doesn’t take as much damage as other characters. Verina does so much healing that it seems like a waste…
I’m currently trying to build the healing Spectre Rover to balance my team more towards DPS. Spamming ultimates is a lot better than what Verina is currently doing for me.
I’m currently relying on Chixia’s bomber outro skill while balancing it with Yuanwu’s vibration strength weakening intro skill. It’s to the point I’m mostly relying on them to while occasionally switching to Verina.
Rover/Yuanwu/Chixia is gonna be my endgame team until I have enough materials to build the others. I only summoned the female 5 Star standards so there won’t be any stagnation in progress for a while.

I am trying to team build but I am bad at this game so it doesnt matter who I use I am still terrible at this game
I dont get what iyo is saying here, is he saying that soloing bosses isnt good for the game? i feel like its so cool that we could do that in the game. tower of adversity is only one part of the endgame, and saying that its the end all be all is kinda dangerous. not doing it/not completing it every 2 weeks at most only makes you miss 700 asterite. i counted. thats FOUR pulls. Personally, I feel like the ability to solo bosses in the open world is so cool it makes casual players not as obligated to learn team building/play characters that they actually want instead of trying to conform to a set meta.
Overpowered team: Encore and any other two characters
just because a char has an outro skill that buffs damage doesnt mean they are a support. think of it more like marvel vs capcom

Wow I hope a lot of these extraneous terms don't catch on. We don't need 5 different classifications for supports just because they have slightly different timing on their effects. Sub-dps is NOT a buffer, it's a character that deals their damage from off-field (and characters can fill multiple roles, like mortefi for example). Idk why we have to throw genshin terms in the garbage can just because this game's better, wuwa borrows sooooooo much other stuff from it ffs (as it should).
Genshin didn’t make any of these terms tho. 😭

My jiyan currently has 49 CR and 218 CD with 1284 attack i still havent 25d all his echoes though.
Just so you know that’s basically 49 CR and 118 CD in most other games. They start at 150 instead of 50 CD. Definitely not bad. But it *will* be more of a grind to get endgame-tier stuff

I'm running everything on high with a GTX 1070 from 7 year's ago and an i3 2100 with 16gb of ram, a day or two after a few hotfixes made it feel alot smoother, but there are random hiccups in performance that still exists

Because that’s what works at the beginning of gacha games.
first time playing gacha game? content is always like this with every release of new games, lol.
Basically, the whole idea of team building is just combination of outro skills and lingering effects (if they are present in the character's kit). That's it. The only challenging part is to execute the activation sequence. Unfortunately its not nearly as deep as genshin's system (yet). But the overall emphasis on mechanical skills in combat implies that WuWa is more about training rather than learning.
This is the furthest thing from the truth right now and it’s crazy that most of the community is just going to accept this.
