Good morning from OZ😎🤗🇦🇺 It's 5 30am & I am having my first coffee of the day & re-watching your textile collage vids ...... so relaxing to watch & lovely work 😍 have a great day 😊
Hello! Wow! Thanks so much for your wonderful comment! It really made my day! It's great to hear where you are in the world, and what you're doing, and it's so good to hear that my videos are being enjoyed as part of your 'very early' morning routine! 😄 I love it! 🤣Thank you so much and you have a great day too! 🥰
Beautiful Colours and Patterns. You truly are my inspiration for simplicity in Slow Stitching, just simple humble stitches are the most beautiful in my eyes. Huge Hugs 🥰
Thank you so much for showing how you collage the scraps together. I love the muted palette you used - so so pretty. I usually work with so much colour and try to make my work look like things, so I really appreciate you showing this style, to which I am so attracted. 😍
Your work is beautiful. What paint did you use for the fabric? Your colours are my favourite colour spectrum, and I would like to try for this colour scheme, thanks.
Thank you so much! I use watercolour paints for the fabric. I just mix the colours until I'm happy, dampen the fabric first and add a touch of water to the paints and apply! Easy! Nothing special 🙂 I usually iron the fabrics when they are dry, just to set them, but the finished piece is not intended to be washed so should be fine. I was really pleased the those lovely fresh greens too! 🥰
Beautiful piece! I am also trying to make a wall hanging but I'm finding the fibres from the wadding are coming up to the front of my quilt when I stitch. I've read online it's called bearding and they say turn the batting over or change needles. Tried both but nothing works. I'm in UK and have problems with Sew Easy brand of quilt batting so not cheap! What batting/wadding do you use? I'm at my wits end! Thank you x
Hello Alison, thank you. I use something called "bump". If you're in the UK and have a Boyes store near to where you live, they sell it there. That's where I get mine, but I'm not sure where else you could get it, I'm afraid. I have found that the odd fibre still comes through, but personally, I haven't found it to be too much of a problem. I do hope that helps! Let me know how you get on ☺
@@OhSewMindful I'm in Devon uk and no Boyes near us but as you were kind enough to tell me the name of the wadding I can start to find some! It's very kind of you to help me! Thank you so much!
@@alisonbunce159 You're very welcome. Although I'd say that it's more of a woven interlining more than a wadding as it's a lot thinner, but I like it and it gives me the quilted look I need. I've also had a look online and it's available there if you'd like to take a look for more info☺
@@AlisonBunce Hi Alison, the only one I use is from Boyes; so I can only recommend that one. I have however managed to find what looks to me to be the same kind, online; here is the link: www.williamgee.co.uk/shop/bump-curtain-interfacing/?cgkit_search_word=bump However, I have never used this company myself, so I am not able to recommend them (just a little disclaimer there ☺). Take a look and let me know what you think.

Lovely to see your process. The colours you have used are so nice. What did you use to dye the fabric?
Hi Christine, thank you. I used watercolour paint to dye the fabrics. Purely experimental, but I liked the way they turned out.
@@OhSewMindful thanks for the info. I will have an experiment
I really enjoyed watching you create this piece. I’m looking forward to part 2. 🙂🧵🪡
I'm so glad you enjoyed watching Part 1. I'm in the process of editing Part 2, so hopefully will get it up on my channel very soon! x
