As Derrick stated below four years ago... this is an excellent assembly video. Your explanation of the different size bolts with the whizz nuts for attaching the tongue to the tray was exactly what I needed to be confident I was not about to make a mistake. Thank you.
I have to agree with the others that have thanked you! Just finished putting mine together, and there’s no way I could have done it as quickly as I did without your video. Thanks so much!
Thanks for the video - have been wanting to buy one of these for a while but all the reviews stated it was tough to assemble this video will help greatly - I am going to attempt to assemble it tonight!
Thank you so much for this video, you were way better than the instructions!! I sat stumped for 20 minutes trying to figure out what I was missing because of the 2 whiz nuts that attach to nothing! Apparently I wasn’t the only one! Thanks again!
Your video was helpful along with the instructions for the assembly this weekend. I used it the next day and it performed like a champ. I too was puzzled about the extra nuts around the slot but I realized they are there to try to keep the weights away from the handle. Thanks again for sharing.
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!! This video was so very helpful. I wish I would have started watching sooner. It would have saved me a lot of frustration and curse words.
You're awesome! Thanks for posting. I'm about done but wanted to check some stuff. Couldn't find the video on agrifabs page. The only thing that's different for me is the 1" and 1and1/4" bolts are switched on the top middle of the tray. I couldn't figure out why the 2 not attached to the tongue were even there until I saw your video of the device in action. My guess is it's supposed to keep the weights off the lift handle. Thanks again amigo. Blessings!
I wondered the same thing when I put it together. It seems that I did come up with some rational as to why they did it at the time, but I can't remember now.
Thanks so much for the video...Very nicely done. I came on here because I could not figure out what the Whizz nuts were for, or how they were installed, but apparently, no one else does either. I am thinking they are just to keep blocks or whatever weights you are using from sliding into the wheel control handle? I also was not sure what the purpose of the shoulder washer was or how it was oriented. I put it on with the flat facing the bar but again, does not seem to really serve a purpose. Thanks again guys!
Yes your weights beat anything I had. I sold my aerator when I retired. 2 new knees and your video and I'm ready to buy in. Just had a 22 horse garden tractor yesterday. Do you have a video on your weight boxes? Love those handles and tight fit padding!
Nice work. Thanks for the detailed gotchas! I'm not sure what I can use for weight ... I've heard some use 5 gallon plastic water jugs strapped down with bungie cords, others are using cement blocks... The instructions say 120LB rating but it looks a little flimsy for that much weight.
@scott s I just assembled mine also. I had 2 large washers and 4 of the quarter imch spacers left. I think agri-fab made some adjustments between when this video was made a year ago and now.
@@superf8433 I have not used mine yet. Got my concrete boxes built last Sunday. Total weight of the boxes with concrete came out to roughly 150#. So about 10# over weight which I'm fine with that. I plan on aerating in about 2 weeks. Hope the thing does good.
As I remember between the washers and the spacers and the tines there was not a whole lot of slack in there. Of course it's been a while since I did it.
@@cleangreenlawnservicellc2630 yeah I lose track too. You were putting together your plug aerator in dark carport but you moved inside well lit shop and went on to do a great how to putting it together. Sorry I jumped the gun and you were doing the video at midnight. Thanks for great video and please excuse smart ass remark!
I did mine in 1-1/2 hour. They shorted me one 5/16" x 3/4" Hex Bolt (E) and I had to improvise. I question the durability of those two wheels. If they fail me, I will replace them with something better in quality if it fits... You have two of the 3/8" Whizloc Nuts (N) wrong. [13:02] I made the same mistake but caught it right away, look at the Figure 8 again. As best as I can figure out about those Wizloc Nuts is that they must be there as a "stop" device just to keep your concrete ballast blocks from sliding into the control lever. I'd change that if I were you.
Clean & Green Lawn Service LLC, a couple or few cinder blocks work great. The weight capacity is 145 lbs so it’ll hold a lot. Just make sure you strap ‘em down nice and tight.
That is a good idea. I'm actually building wood boxes that fit perfectly on the tray and pouring concrete in them. I'll make sure not to get too much weight. They will be removable as well. Thanks

By far the best assembly video on this product I have seen. Thank you!!!
Thanks & thanks for watching!

Yeah I still haven't figured that one out 🤣. Thanks
It's 4 "whiz nuts" by the way.
😳😂
The real term is "serrated nuts". I put this together, with grease, in 65 minutes.
Wow, that sounds quick. No idea how long it took me...... recording always add time to the project.

I bought one a few years ago and I really like it. Works great. Good video
John, thanks for watching. I have enjoyed mine so far too.
I have one too! Great investment!
Yes!
Probably the best instructional assembly video I've ever seen. Very good job explaining every step!
Thanks Steve. I appreciate your encouraging words.
Thanks for the video. Very helpful and well done. I appreciated the tips to avoid problems with assembly.
Thanks for stopping by Wayne.
Great job with very good, detailed instructions and tips 👍
Thanks Mark!

Really like the dog!
🐕🐕
Thank you. Helped me put it together. I would suggest your long sleeve shirt or old sweat shirt. Blades cut arms twice.
Those tines are definitely sharp. Good idea Thomas!
What's the purpose of the two addition whiz nuts? They go through the top tray, but attach to nothing.
I wondered the same thing when I put it together. It seems that I did come up with some rational as to why they did it at the time, but I can't remember now.
Could be to help prevent a cement block or something similar from hitting the lift bar.

Those were certainly not the best instructions as far as explanation. That's for stopping by.
Great video. Have you had any problem with the tongue cracking or spindle welds failing under weight? Have heard a lot of them failing.
I have not but I have not used mine a lot either.
I had one. They are a swell tool. I broughtback many a yard with one. Put a few concrete blocks in tray and goooo.
As you know, I did make some weights. It works better when I sit on it 🤣

Excellent video now I can fix a couple things I assembled wrong
Wait what if you have it right and I have it wrong 😳😂. Thanks
Your video was a huge help. Thank you!
Glad to hear it!
Took my about 2 hours to assemble. I had 2 large washers left. It said 2 for shims. Where were they suppose to be used? Did you use yours?
Honestly, that was so long ago, I can’t remember 🤔

I had two 3/4 flat washers left over it says for shims. What are they for?
I am not sure, this was so long ago, I can't remember. Sorry!
Great job Sir
Thanks!
The extra nuts/bolts on the top carriage are to keep whatever you use as a weight from smashing into the lever.
Well I can see how that would help!
1.25 with spacer are the 4 outside bolts, the two 1” bolts are in middle next to lift arm
Interesting.......I've still never been able to figure out the point of adding these extra nuts.......
Thx so much. Great video
You're welcome! 💪
Great instructions. Appreciate it very much.
You're welcome. Thanks for watching.
I have a leftover part, its a large washer with a lip on the center. Only one in the box, no idea where it goes.
I definitely don’t remember now 😂
I am putting a 40" together. How snug are all the blade and spacers between the secure points? Great video.

Great video, I will say at 13:51 you installed the bolts wrong.
That was so long ago, I can't remember........perhaps I looked at the diagram wrong. Thanks!
Yes, the whizloc nuts on the side of the lever opening with two rows of nuts should be furthest away from the lever opening
Thanks James!
Great content thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Great video nice job !!!
Thanks 👊
Was that a bug at 6:40?
Not sure, I'll have to go back and see 😂
wish i woulda saw this yesterday...i am too the part of connecting the long tounge part to the metal tray that holds the weight
Well you're getting close 😁
Great video
Thanks man.

Yeah, those wheels are definitely questionable. Those wizloc nuts definitely had me confused. I made weights for mine that lock into place.
@@cleangreenlawnservicellc2630 Figure 8 shows that the Wizlock nuts go in the holes with the regular bolts in between.
👌🏻
When I pull it back out, I’ll have to take a look at it.
Wiznuts were supposed to be on the outsides. Acts as a barrier against your weights. Short bolts should have been the two in the middle (of the six).
Ah.....well with the weight kit I built, I'll be fine. Thanks!
excellent...thanks much
You're welcome Doug. Thanks for stopping by.
I need to get one
It'll get the job done, but I need to figure out what I'm going to use for weight. Bags of fertilizer stacked on it didn't work that well.
