Go earlier on week days when you can! I mean sit on the water and wait for sun to come up, it’s almost always good glassy hr right when sun comes up. But wait 3-4 hrs it’s almost is always choppy, just my personal experience
Hey i lived in St Peters for 6 months and remember attending a pretty awesome water ski show at Lake St Louis in summer of 1988. Love Lake St Louis and spent lots of time there with good friends. Now in Utah and really love wake surfing and going to Lake Powell often as I can. Enjoy all your videos. Thanks for sharing.
Hey Shaun ! Nice video ! I'm 57 this month and have been watching you since I started wakeboardin when I was 49 and love every minute of my time on the water! I took my son and grandaughter to the championships at OWC in 2017 and we met you for a second while you were riding your 1 wheeler . I've always wanted to ride with you and been missing the whole sport and haven't got to ride since 2019 at OWC ! I love being behind the boat riding and really have always wanted to ride beging a nautique but never had the chance ! If ya ever feel like givin an ol-man a chance to learn from one of the best that would be a dream come true for this guy ! Have a great day and hopefully see ya at O dub this year ! Peace✌️🤙
Love your videos easy explanations very inspirational. Found ourselves watching vids on our boats trying to learn your skills and tricks. Looking forward to following you this season and hopefully learning more from you online maybe someday if things open again and we can fly then maybe coming for a lesson or 10.
Shaun love the channel. Just watched a WHOF posted vid of you at the '99 X-Games battling it out in some heinous water conditions. Made me think you should do a vid on sending it in some rough chop and seeing what you can get done! Not everyday is perfect for riding and us weekend warriors can't be as picky on water conditions haha.
Your boat sitting alone out of reach from the dock made me wonder why some of the boat manufacturers haven’t offered remote control like you can get with the new trolling motors,it also makes a one man launch much easier
Great video! Can’t wait to get out on the water myself. But even with the wetsuit 42 degree water in Wisconsin is a bit chilly. Would love to see maybe a video off some off season training/workout ideas that have kept you being able to ride for as long as you have at such a high level.
Justin- Thanks for commenting & sending warm weather vibes your way! Workout videos are on the list to film for UA-cam for sure, really want to get those done and here for everyone... stay tuned. -✌️
A video on hs rolls 2 revert would be awesome. I imagine low impact/short rope would also work with this strategy, but based on my experience & teaching riding - everyone seems to always over rotate skipping out. Whether from a mexiroll or a proper roll, insights would be awesome on that staple trick too!
This video hits close to home. I live on a neighborhood ski lake that is too narrow to take a full cut on a longer rope. I haven’t dared to try a raley here as I am afraid I’ll land in someone’s backyard or on their dock. I’d like to see how short of a rope and how easy of a cut you could take and still still manage to land it.
Wow that shot of the paragon and its reflection is killer! Your slow speed is my norm..haha. Is there an ideal target speed to work up to? I get nervous above 21mph at 65ft, and left wondering if I'd enjoy my ride even more if I learned to go 23mph and 75'. Should we all be aiming for that or is that mostly a pro setup?
First off, practice. Keep your knees bent so you can make adjustments. Use your hands to kind of swim to stay on top of it. Wear a CGA vest so your upper body is more buoyant
Hey Shaun! My wakeboard just broke the other day trying to learn my first flip (heelside backroll) and I don’t know much about wakeboards so I was wondering, what kind of board do you recommend for somebody who can go wake to wake but is just learning to do inverted flips?
Pass the handle is whenever you teach someone new to get up behind the boat on anything. It's about sharing the love of the sport. Pass Murray's Handle is my rope and handle that was traveling around, got stuck down in Australia for a while, made it back to the states and I believe is in south Carolina now.
Is your driver adjusting tabs based on which side of the boat you're on to clean up the wake? If so, any chance you could put out a vid on how to drive slower and deliver a beautiful wake for your rider?
My Nautique does the same. The slight pull of the boat that the boarder has with the rope against the tower, cleans up the wake on that side, but will make it slightly foamy on the other side. I think because of the slower speeds of this video it shows up more than his usual 23MPH. I ride about 19-20 and see the same thing he had in the video.
I run about the same and we have a smaller boat so it depends on size and stuff. It’s always good to try higher speeds with a longer line though. I prefer like 17 or 18 for air but if I’m trying newer tricks I go for 16 or 15 and then ramp it up
I know you do lessons at the OWC but have you ever thought about being hired for a birthday party? Going to be throwing my son a birthday party middle of July and I'm trying to come up with something really cool to do for him. Never hurts to ask. P.S. definitely wouldn't have to wear a clown suit but I do have to say the shark suit was pretty cool. Lol
I am SO jealous of how calm the water is in your intro, Literally insane. Everytime I go out its super choppy
I hear ya. But I never take it for granted!

Bro same here. Even if the wind is below 10mph there are white caps
Ye that’s the smoothest water I’ve ever seen
Go in the morning if you can, nights work too but there can be a lot of boat traffic. If you’re on a bigger lake I’d imagine it’d be much harder

LSL! For sure had some good times there and had tons of hours on that lake. Even rode my skurfer in the ski show!

Right on! And thanks for watching!
Great video... The low risk pointers are great. I will use that this summer. See you Monday at OWC!
Nice vid Shawn! 🏄 Nice day out on the water 💧
It was a blast, thanks for commenting!

You're da man, MurDog! Congrats on the switch back 5!
That switch back five was sooo sick!!!
Snow is just starting to melt in Pennsylvania, so hopefully I can stats slaloming soon. Sweet video.
Hope you can hit the water soon!
congrats! thats awesome!! With my outboard boat I always go short rope to get the maximum peak of the wake!
That is a beautiful boat. On the glass i would do that every morning too
cool dock trick..
Dock hack = brilliant!

Looking good out there man was exited to see the new video making me wanna get out on the water soon I always have a soft spot for the glass
Ryan- Wassup, you know me, I'm partial to that glass myself!

Did I just receieve a shortline, slow speed Raley challenge? Accepted
Try the double tantrum or double back, how about that Shaun?
Last double back I made, broke my foot. But I made it. But I broke my foot. Did I mention I made it. Yeah, broke my foot though.
Come to Australia for a carve!!
Wow that shot of the paragon and its reflection is killer!

Love the vids. Can you make one on a wakeskate board?
Appreciate the ask but I don’t wake skate anymore after having one of my worst water sports injuries on one.
Insane!
What is that dry suit you're wearing?
Ola Shaun, é possivel realizar manobras assim sendo puxado por um jet-ski?
Why is your launch wake (regardless of what side) always smooth and the transition wake (regardless of side) white wash?
I try to go as slow as possible with whatever rope length and weight setup I run, which usually means the landing wake will be washy
Aaa I’m first love the vids
Hutton Stringfellow with the win!!! FIRST COMMENT, we have a new contender here folks. HUTTON STRINGFELLOW!!!!

I have to ask how do you always keep the board in the water after you fall and wait for the boat to pick you up 😂
First off, practice. Keep your knees bent so you can make adjustments. Use your hands to kind of swim to stay on top of it. Wear a CGA vest so your upper body is more buoyant
Hi Shaun! 2nd upload attempt is the winner. :)
Jerr-
We do it nice, cause we do it twice!
(sometimes anyway)

Was that jake pelot driving the boat ?
Yessur ✌🏽

Random question: does your wakeboard have fins in the bottom
Good question Law. It has 2 fins at each end. .8"
And here's a better look at it if you're interested... ua-cam.com/video/oEi1h4UT7bs/v-deo.html
@@Shaun.Murray Thanks 👍
How did you get back into the grove after your ankle injury? I tore my acl while wakeboarding and am getting back but it's been a struggle.
Can you give a update on “pass the handle”? I think is what it was called...
Pass the handle is whenever you teach someone new to get up behind the boat on anything. It's about sharing the love of the sport. Pass Murray's Handle is my rope and handle that was traveling around, got stuck down in Australia for a while, made it back to the states and I believe is in south Carolina now.
@@Shaun.Murray ok, pass Murray’s handle is what I was thinking of. That’s cool to know when it’s been. Thanks.

I was wondering the same thing 😉
What speed is the boat at?
He said 19 and then I think he said they would raise it up slightly.
6:08 we can feel your pain
🤘🔥
Am I weird? My wakeboarding speed is 16 mph. Cool vid btw, I live in Utah and no boating yet way to cold and this gets me pumped for the summer!
I think it’s fine, I usually wakeboard at 18 or 19
Ski at whatever speed you’re comfortable

Have done things like that but my July is all booked up. And if I was at a bday party, I'd pretty much have to wear a clown suit, my choice.
Need a come to me feature like on a Tesla, lol
look at that glass
