Hey Mike, Callejo de los Negroes is not too far away from OLVERA STREET and is between the current China town now. Oct 24 is just before Nov 2 Day Of the Dead, where remember our dead. It would be cool to have a major procession joining with OLVERA street.
The law suit by Wing Chung, mentioned at 36:00, failed due to the fact that Sam Yuen supposedly hire men to kill Yo Hing, leading to the killing of Robert Thompson. Thompson was shot in the doorway of Wing Chung's (Sam Yuen's) store. The Los Angeles Daily News pushing the following on June 6, 1872: Yesterday, the case of Wing Chung Co. vs. the city, an action brought in the District Court to recover $5,000 from the city, for damages done the property of the plaintiffs during the riot, terminated in a verdict being rendered in favor of the defendants. It transpired during the examination that one of the plaintiffs -- Sam Yuen -- was one of the most prominent actors in the broil which brought on the riot that resulted in the destruction of property for which damages were claimed. This will probably be an end to the suits of damages arising from the riot and brought against the city.
Mike Woo!! You are awesome. I remember your work in Los Angeles 😀
Students should be urged to watch these videos during summer sessions
Ha. I was just thinking of Mike Wu. Nice to see him doing well. He was almost our mayor.

It's Los Angeles Street now, they renamed it shortly after the massacre.
@@veggiedisease123 yes, but so many people do not know these histories and I have always thought we should be recognizing each other’s history.
