I'm a fan of low-range for this kinda of riding. Question for you all: How many of you use low range for low-moderate speed trail riding?

I don’t use low range on my 500 because I sometimes need to hold it in place or put it in to park then push into low

How you doing bro, my brother and I ran into a dam like that years ago when I like the bring a lot of sprites out riding with me. Hell we all did. Anyway it was just getting to be sun down. And I mashed the throttle and it was over my head. Lol. We didn't get home till late that night. Great video man. Thank you.

I like your videos! It helps while I’m waiting to afford my own zForce 1000 😊
I would suggest that if you can, somehow, include the voice of your trail partners, it would be great to hear them, not just you talking back to them.
    Keep up the good work!

Thank you! I agree - I wish I could figure out a way. I could put a recorder or GoPro on their helmet and mix it later, but I don't think they would appreciate that! haha.
I thought about trying to splice my communicator's speaker wire into my line in for recording but I'm just concerned it will be another failure point/one more thing to go wrong on the trail. I'd rather have consistent mediocre audio recording then no audio at all! I will give it some more thought and see if I can figure something out. Good luck with the saving, it will be worth the effort/wait!

AdvOffroad I was wondering, do you guys have any trouble with the trail access and the pandemic? In Quebec, I think trails are accessible, but most trail cabins are closed.

@@Hedrakk1 Most trail systems that I know of are open here in Ontario. I don't know anything about those trail cabins you speak of though! Sounds like a snowmobile thing?

AdvOffroad Well, they are for both ATVs and Snowmobiles. They are usually open all year long. In warmer seasons, they are nice places to eat your lunches and of course in winter, nice places to get a little heat from fireplaces.
But as I said, they are closed now because of covid.

@@Hedrakk1 it's too bad they're closed but that sounds pretty cool!

if you run your audio though a compressor limiter your volumes will normalize

What app do you use for your trial rides ?

    • @GuardianGrove

These trails as well as a lot of your home trails (I read you are in Renfrew) are on the QuadON app. It's pretty great. It shows you the trails/your GPS location and gives you info on each leg of the trail, whether the trail is open or closed, etc.

Why would you be riding the beginning in Low? I ride Johnstown, and would not ride the trail in low until I get to mud or a hill climb.

Whatever works! I use low when my average speed is under 25-30 km/h, and I am not keeping the speed consistent. It's recommended by some manufacturers to reduce belt wear in those situations. My Polaris machines were the same. Realistically, it probably doesn't make too much of a difference if you are mindful of what is likely to cause belt slip or excessive heat on your drive belt. At very least, there is nothing wrong with running in low, at low speeds, so as a convenience thing, I don't need to keep shifting back and forth when I get to mud or hills.
It was our first time on those trails but we would love to back. Is there any specific trail you recommend? Have you been through the area with the dam?
