Rick mentions Trevor playing differently than before and almost speaking. I can say I've heard it. He is just out front and driving with so much confidence. love it.
I was noticing the same thing! In "The Chateau Sessions" he's fucking killing it!! Much more pronounced in the mix. My little conspiracy theory is that he was possibly having issues Ben maybe either personally or over how high Trev was in the mix before Ben left and now that he's gone, he's up in the mix and is really ridin' the groove with those brilliant basslines!
@@doglog5748 hmmmmm..... Goose pretty much never has fill-ins but I've found it interesting to hear how other bands sound different with different bass players.
GREAT stuff !!! Trevino playing has been swell....and the vibes at the shows are Reaching new heights of musical 🎼 👌 innovation 💡 especially babba booey babba booey babba booey whopping goldilocks and babba booey bowling balls booeys.... excellent show!!!! 😮...
great pod! Definitely checking this out bc of Goose. Solid questions, really cool to see them open up about their concert experiences. Funny that Peter didn't seem to know that Rick's first concert memory was also beach boys. Great stuff! Keep it up
The Fat Freddy’s Drop story is hilarious. Like how you guys talked about just making the art that you’re compelled to make - no matter what the world says! And books 📚 are sick!
It has been an ABSOLUTE PLEASURE watching this band ascend and adapt, and grow, since the Peach Festival set that got recommended to me almost 5 years ago. Hands down, best Bird band.
The date was 8/11/98🔥 almost coming up on that now actually. Anyways. Phish . Starlake 98. My 1st show on my own. Lied to my parents . Told them i was going to kennywood with my cousin. No kids with phones back then. No way to reach me. Just trust me. 😂😂 show changed my life and been trying to pick my jaw off the floor since . 😂❤ i was 14 at time of show. There with kids older than me
26:01 hahahah. I definitely remember growing up in the late 90’s into the early 2000’s about people having sex on the lawn at shows and then going to my first few shows at SPAC: Phish, Alman Bro’s, Dave, Dead side projects etc. then I went to my first festival around 2006-2007. It was Camp Bisco… I indeed did witness some people having sex under their blankets right at the main stage during Umphrey’s or something and my mind was blown, didn’t help i was tripping bawls lol
Can you please ask Rick if he’s found out who the bass players last name is? I think he might be talking about my jazz ensemble teacher! It would be super awesome if you could ask him
You guys were like young Henry Hill in "Goodfellas" getting busted selling cigarettes " what are you talking about? It's ok, it's alright, guys, come on, it's not a problem" Cop: "what? You got permission from your mother?? Get 'em outta here!!"
Shit I got arrested at a widespread panic concert for a blunt roach that was about a 3/4 of an inch long. 2 years on probation and $3,500 in fees and fines. #fuckalabama

I caught that too, also not sure what to do with it.

I just wish we had more groove from Trev.

S/o to Rick still rocking the 930 Club Tee
Pet sounds and gin blossoms are literally astonishingly beautiful songwriting

Kirk fox was my old tennis coach. Hilarious guy
Great show. Had Peter not seen the Chicago redbird bit? Rick loves that shit, as do I. Keep the mustache bit. LOve.

Top 5 shows... Phish 11.15.98. Simon and Garfunkel. Outkast. Justice. Paul Mccartney
It says this was recorded on 2/13/23, is that an error? It should be 2024 I would think .
It was an error. Nice catch.
Is it me or is he mispronouncing both of their names at the beginning? Great stuff though!
Everyone plays better now, in the pocket. I know there were a bunch of pissed off fans, but I'm not mad at all they swapped for Cotter.
