It will take time to teach the children, they came from an abusive, neglected environment and are disabled.
Seems to me most nomads let their kids be, they arent harping on them to use manners, etc. they dont use much discipline..their approach to child rearing is different, and probably their culture. It doesn't mean they wont be taught to respect their elders (also in Islam). Not much different to my country's aboriginal peoples approach to child rearing!
A reknown Canadian child psychologist Gordon Nuefeld teaches to not enforce certain manners on a child under 6, very similar to Nomads. I've seen kids raised under his methods and they turned out to be good, mannerful, responsible teenagers and young adults! And a hell of a lot less stressed out!
