It's not a vacation...it's life and it may not be, and doesn't have to be, a picture perfect existence. I've been known to be in a bad mood sitting on the bow of the boat not enjoying the beautiful sunset! It happens.
Nice video, enjoyed sharing your video. Glad the Gulf crossing was not bad. Looking forward to your experiences in the Abaco's -- been there many times and the islands are marvelous although still a bit battered from hurricanes.
It was about 9 hours. For 3/4 of it Chris set the speed at 7 knots. We went a bit faster due to the Gulf Stream and some tidal currents working in our favour. We usually burn slightly less than 4nm per gallon. It was 60 nautical miles from our anchorage near the west end of grand bahama Island to the marina in North Palm Beach. So 15 gallons? We paid $6 a gallon in the Bahamas but it's about $4 a gallon in the US. We hold 300 gallons total and topped up over there with 100 gallons. So somewhere North of $60 to cross if you assume a blended price between $4 and $6 a gallon.
This is the 1st chance we've had to watch. We applaud you for making the crossing 🛥👏 We had a squal last night in Virginia and a new leak got onb1 of our laptops (of course the one we do youtube on...ugh). Never a dull moment eh?!😅 Keep up the great job and safe travels from Mark and Mel🛥
@@gothatawaychrisandsandra I just uploaded late just now, because of having to re-do the video that got corrupted by the rain. Glad we have two laptops and i can use Marks now. We just tagged your page in the description because we were talking fuel costs, which goes along with your great breakdown last video. Great job!
So happy the weather worked out so that Andrew and Chris could make the trip!
They should do more boating together. They both seem to enjoy being on the water!
Mel LOVES your ending comments and can relate 😂👍

@@gothatawaychrisandsandra good to know! It is NOT a vacation lol for sure!
the audio mixing is much more consistent in this video! Great drone footage at about 19:00 ... loved the cheeky wave!
Thanks to your input on audio, I'm learning so much! Miss you!

Very battered. I've recently seen photos pre Dorian and the difference is stunningly sad.
Safe travels!
Thanks!
how many hours total to cross? how much fuel did you burn and speed?

Oh no!!! Forced respite from editing, Mel. Maybe a silver lining?
