I think your reviews are good. However the only reason I often switch off is cos you always rush through things. It’s a review to inform your subscribers. Speaking so fast and rushing through stuff does not afford them enough time to truly grasp what you’re explaining as it is often so much at a time.

I plugged my phone in to my civic on the way to work and it asked me about installing the new android auto app. I ignored the notification, but I might have to try this new interface, I like it a lot better.
Home screen is a massive step back, just copied useless apple home screen... having a quick heads up on destination, weather, recent call, etc is very useful vs just having bunch of useless app icons.... great job
This... it's becoming a bit frustrating, especially in the Netherlands where bureaucracy is preventing the people from getting AA the legal way. Meanwhile, everybody is using it and police is not preventing it... so tiresome..
Thanks, this worked for me I am running a Pixel 3a and I received the update while I was on vacation in FL. One thing I noticed is that the icons on my head unit look a little pixelated but the background looks sharp. Not a big deal to me as long as the map looks good and it did.

This morning I plugged my phone into my 2016 Chevy Spark and saw this notification pop up on my display screen to unplug and re-plug in my phone for the new update, I did and it was nice and smooth the first time. Then when I used it again when driving and trying to use Maps nothing would show up when I plugged my phone in, no asking to switch to Android Auto or anything. Repeatedly trying to figure out what was wrong I'm still at a loss. How can I get it back and working again so I can enjoy the new features and enjiy using Android Auto on my car display screen?? I called Google, extensively browsed the AA help forums and cannot for the life of me find why the previously simple commands no longer work. I say "ok Google, text XYZ," and the system responds "I don't know how to help with 'text XYZ." I used to say "ok Google, what's on my calendar today," or "ok Google, call XYZ" but now Google can't help. The list goes on. I'm perplexed that something that always worked brilliantly now cannot do the simplest of things. How did this break? I didn't make any changes.
That's all good but WHERE IS THE TRACK SKIP FORWARD option??? It's so annoying not being able to skip back or forward on a particular track, how can something like this be released without simple functions like this being included that come standard on just about every player out there...!!
Old version has my calendar appointments come up and I just click on it for maps to automatically give directions to the address. It’s the feature I use most, so I switched back as it’s not on the new version.
Or you can push your car mic (or Google assistant mic on screen) and ask Google assistant, "how does my day look?" That gives you weather, calendar of the day, and goes into news bullets.
Cannot get my receiver to accept android Auto from my phone, keeps saying my cable is incompatible, tried 6 different cables, downloaded the firmware update and still cannot get it to work. Any ideas whats wrong?

Galaxy S9+. My GF (S9) was plugged in and got the msg for the update, looked hella clean, i plug my phone in, no update. My version IS 4.5.592854, even uninstalled the app and reinstalled to be sure, and the option juste wont show up in the settings menu... anybody knows what to do?
You should be able to play any media from your phone into your radio. Mine works that way. But if you try and close the phone with UA-cam open itll cut off the audio. However if you open UA-cam on your web browser and open videos that way then it will play the audio with the phone locked.
@@EpilepsyWarning if you have an Android download UA-cam vanced. No ads and the music/video plays with your screen locked. Also, if you by any chance use a VPN on your phone, turn it on and change it to America which will also allow you to play music/videos with the screen locked.
It's a shame Android Auto updated without a warning, because in the Netherlands you are not able to install or update it via the PlaySTore. Its simply not available. The onbly way is to update by downloading an APK file and install it via the back door of your phone. Shame is: I needed maps in my car and without a warning it was simply unavailable without an update which I couldn't install through my phone. So I had to navigate with my head,and the small screen of my smarphone which was near me at the passenger chair. VERRY TRAFFIC SAFE GOOGLE!!!!!!! Pleas make it available in the Netherlands too, it is much more safe then the car navigation (which is verry outdated) unlike you give us as reason to forbid it in the netherlands (you tell us it would be unsafe because it is on a phone). SHAME you GOOGLE ANDROID!
1 thing. We only want 1 thing: Builtin mirror with capability to switch off the phone's screen. Nothing more google we do not need nothing more. Literally who the fuck cares to reach the aggregated notifications while driving? Who the fuck cares if I can initiate my settings (not see it) just start the menu on my phone?

@@TKBay i had to go out and have a look again now. And it seems by tapping the looking glas it enters up a searchfield that can either be filled in directly on the cars screen or on the phone. The reason i didnt get it to work (i believe) was because i tapped the text to the right of the looking glas and that didnt open up the said field 👍👍
Android auto is pointless. People know their own phones as they have them in their hand all the time. Creating a different layout in the car is just distracting. I have reverted to just using a mounted phone on the dash. Far better than any in car system running Android auto.

It's depending on your location. Some of the country's still not allowed Android Auto like Malaysia.

Tried it for 5 days, I've gone back to the original. The interface is too busy and it's buggy too, frequent sounds drop outs on google podcasts
