Excellent, I admire your Innovation the company definitely opens doors for people who want to get into Aviation on a reasonable level. My observation, does the fuel line need to be shielded or you could use the steel braided hoses, you may have other engineering restrictions for why you didn't do that but just my Layman's suggestion. Thank you for sharing very inspirational work.
What is the expected cruise speed with this engine? I know VNE is allegedly 125 mph with a generous safety margin built in, I am sure. Can you exceed that with this engine. TIA
Hey Jan, I've been looking at your engines for a bit. Looking at building a 801. My understanding based upon you numbers you're using the 1.5L Turbo Accord engine. Are you looking into expanding to the 2.0L Turbo engine? I don't know the numbers on the weight difference between the two, but I wouldn't figure it would be much. I'd personally like the extra power as this is going to be a bit of a workhorse for me, so being able to take advantage of a potential 305hp is of significant interest. Also, I've looked and I'm rather new to the whole build a plane game, but can you push the engine readings over to Dynon or Garmin systems as opposed to your Viking View?
@@eggenfellner COOL! I may start on it as I have access to some low mileage engines (less than 3K) and the turbo ordered new from Honda. Finding a 2.0L with Turbo is pretty difficult. Depending upon the route I take I'll contact you and get a price either everything or just the modification I need from you.
@@eggenfellner Jan a little more reading a research on my part. According to the below article you're already using the 1.5L and the 2.0T but it seems it isn't tuned to the 252 or 305 outputs available. Can you expand upon that. My assumption is your doing the tuning based upon the airframe tolerances?
Hey Jim, standard TBO 2000 hours if not more along with more affordable maintenance because you can get everything yourself locally without issue. We have combined thousands and thousands of hours with over 500 customers worldwide. The highest hourly wise outside of our own is between 700-800 hours, without issue which as you know in an experimental slower aircraft is a lot of flying.

As always Great Job...Thanks Jon
Jan, engine 130hp. What price? Anything in the shipping package? Including the propeller / engine only. Please explain in detail. Thank you jan
Is there a way to do redundant ECU's? How about variable speed props, is that possible?

Yes, you can do any engine monitor you would like. We can build a 2 liter for you

The article I mentioned. www.experimentalaircraft.info/homebuilt-aircraft/viking-aircraft-engines.php
What is the full up weight of the engine install as shown here?
Same as an O-200 continental. 220ready to fly.
Viking Aircraft Engines Not bad at all. Thank you.
Would love to see an install of one of your turbos on a sling 4.. Is it posable???
Just bring one by and we will take care of it
@@eggenfellner I'm living in the Philippines now can't see it happening.. But you never know lol
Does that engine use a timing belt or timing chain?
Jeffery Somerville
Timing chain
my question is are your auto conversion engines new ???? other then that they are NICE !!!
You choose. New or with a few miles. In any case, all from 2020 model year.
did you change the ECU of handa engine?
Yes, we don't need that ECU, it has far more programming than necessary. We program it with our own Tefcell wire harness as well.
Does the throttle fail full if cable breaks??
We don't use Rotax bicycle cables. All cables are certified Teflon lined aircraft style push pull cables. No springs, etc.
I would love to know what the recommended TBO is. What kind of life are people getting out of these?
