That guy was actually looking for inequalities between women and men in Sikhism, like in many other religions his probably a muslim looked very upset and surprised with the reply from Jagraj Singh.

No brother "Sikh" literary means student or disciple of Guru . A Sikh have no meaning without a Guru and By God he was made Guru . For us he is like Guruparmeshar and also a sikh of another sikh ( us to be Sikhs of Guru) doesn't make any sense to me.

sorry if my comment offended you. From my daily experience, watching all of the basics of sikhi videos..... anybody that goes that out of there way in an attempt to embarrass Bhai Jagraj and the religion of sikhi to understand a basic concept that could be explained in one sentence is a muslim. The accent only affirmed it for me. I didn't need an accent to tell me that was a muslim.
Don't get me wrong... the majority of muslim brothers and sisters are very nice, kind and smart people... but there is a faction of them that reject any new concept, take literal meaning to the Quran and use certain verses in the Quran to justify them selves and offend others.

i never said all of them r to blame for a few bad apples. What i said is those type of questions/ style is inline with people of islamic backgrounds. At the time that islamic countries gave us knowledge it was called the golden age of islam. at that time the leaders and most followers of this religion understood that verses are not to be taken literal and that science and math plays a big role in innovation and life. It wasn't there religion that gave us these things that you mention but it was science and math. Now, many islamic communities/ leaders don't give science and logic much meaning. Thats the reason that in the last 200 years we haven't seen anything major from this religion. For the argument you make how this is the fastest growing religion.... the islamic leaders/ kings of the past forcefully converted people of other religions under the threat of death. That is what happen in much of India, Africa and Europe. Now the growth is attributed not to people converting willingly.... but the insanely high fertility rate of muslim families. The average in other religions is 1.5-2 children per woman but in islam it is 3-4 children per woman. And just because more people are adopting a view of a religion doesn't mean all the views that they adopt are necessarily correct.
The history of this religion is riddled with more bad times than good. I think you should go back and read the history of islamic leaders/kings. Sufism i respect, wahaabis have gotten the wrong meaning out of islam.
Prince70065 All of India was not converted because of the retaliation from Sikhs and Hindu Kings. And FYI all of Pakistan and parts of Afghanistan belonged to India in the past. Those parts have been switched to islam due to forced conversions from oppressors. And the spread of islam to the JAVA/ island countries was through sufi traditions not wahhabism or any other faction of islam. To clarify you on the islamic rule in the European countries....The ottoman empire was very forward thinking. Like i said before they gave way to science and logic rather than the literal and forceful following of islam. the majority of innovations that islam ever had, was through this forward thinking ottoman empire.
The reason the "pockets" (i emphasize pockets) of christians is first impart to the forward thinking ottoman empire of the late centuries and missionaries from around the world. Also if you did not know, Christianity and judaism were from the middle east, so naturally pockets of these religions were, are and always will stay there, no matter how strong the oppressor.
The ottomans in Europe as you explain were not as good as you think or my comment makes you believe. Any body that practised any other religion besides islam had restrictions on them that were not imposed on islam followers. in other words.... THEY WERE TREATED AS SECOND CLASS CITIZENS. Though the ottomans were forward thinking they still oppressed the non muslim people in there own way. The reason christianity is still in Spain is because these restrictions were applied opposed to full out murder which was committed in much parts of asia and middle east.

Sikhi also does not discriminate between genders, and whatever applies to men also applies to so must women. We also have many historical examples of Sikhs women being leaders such as such as Mai bhago, Mata gujri kaur, Mata Sundri, and many many more. In Sikhi women can be leaders just like men, they just have to step up to the challenge.
A lot of people will say Sikhi is "sexist" becuase all the Gurus were men but thats not necessarily true. The Gurus were One with God, and God is beyond gender becuase he's a mysterious omnipresent and omnipotent energy. The human Gurus might have been biologically male but the energy they are made of has no gender. Furthermore our current Guru, Guru Granth Sahib Ji also has no gender, gender is a lie, becuase the soul itself has no gender. The reason the Gurus were not born as women was becuase if they were no one would have listened to them. The climate in asia at the time and still to this day is sexist. If there were women Gurus society would not accept them. It usually takes someone of a higher authority to change society, becuase the oppressed who fight for freedom have no voice and are not valued as much. The reason the Gurus were male was becuase people values the opinion of men more and at that time it took men to get things done. We as Sikhs dont need female Gurus to show that we have gender equality.
I know Sikhs as a religion is not sexist.but there is serious problem of sexism in Sikh community in India. I have lived in punjab. Women are criticize for there independence, dress, working, makeup etc.
Don't get me wrong almost every community here in India is sexiest not only Sikh community I m just saying that Sikh as a religion failed to deliver that equality.

@@ankushakash5328 yea but that's not the religion, that's the cultural upbringing of a region. Sikhi has many great examples of women being strong and out in the battlefield, but it's the culture of an area which suppresses that.

Some believe in one Supreme formless energy and other do believes in Energy and it forms..what matters is that nobody have seen God in true form all have just realized it through peace and mediation.. what matters is that which guidelines is better for jagat kalyan and harmony among so many species of humans animals and sprites... .I love Sikhi as it has Guru Shishya sabhyata still alive unlike common Hindus who don't follow any books or manuals like bhagwat gita and keep on doing of their mind and then something wrong happens or they fail then they go to temples thinking their work should be get done by Any devi devta or form of supreme... as they forget the Law of Karma taught by Krishna and follow their minds no matter driven from Ill intentions or karma, rather then following their pure soul which is nothing but the ansh of paramatma.... I feel that without a guidance of Spiritual Guru In life one keeps on living in duality of Mind and Brains... I think the straight and honest answer was, No. We had a leader, bibi jagir kaur 😂😂😂😂. I think the guy is asking about a Women as Akal Takhat Jathedaar which we clearly don't allow. No lady can do keertan in Harmandir Sahib. No lady can be part of 5-piara's and we are talking about women equality. Jugraj, has generally been great and did a good job in many videos but sometimes he did not justify the simple points. The question was whether a woman can be a leader of the sikh kaum. Jugraj struggled to answer. He should have clearly said, No.

it's a shame that sgpc doesnt allow women to perform kirtan seva in darbar sahib. is it our jatehdars' coming with these false rules? in Punjab women are generally denied being part of panj pyare. why no one speaks against this?
The SGPC is corrupt and controlled by Badal, they dont represent Sikhi. I and any others speak against Woman not being allowed to do Kirtan in darbar sahib.

At best, all he is saying only exists on paper or in sikh history or perhaps in foreign progressive countries. Not in Punjab!!!i have never seen a woman priest doing ardaas or reading from sggs during main ceremonies. Never seen them performing marriage ceremonies. He is sugarcoating sikhism and sikh culture. You can't find it in Punjab because despite what Sikhi says, Punjabi culture can be quite sexist. Although for example in the UK, there are a lot of women who sing Kirtan at Gurudwaras

There are few lines here and there that praises women and people like you interpret them as equality for women. Every religion has such lines in their scriptures including Islam and Hindusim. There has never been equality in Sikhism or Punjab. The change you see in foreign countries is not because of Sikhi, its because of the progressive cultures of those countries. And if former was the case then it should have happened in Punjab as well.
