Premier Doug Ford announces beer and wine coming to corner stores in Ontario - May 24, 2024

Ontario Premier Doug Ford announces the province is allowing sales of beer, wine and ready-made cocktails in corner stores beginning this September. The change is part of the Ford government’s long-promised plan to expand the province’s alcohol beverage marketplace and includes a $225 million payment to The Beer Store to help support the transition.
The premier is joined at the news conference in Etobicoke by provincial Finance Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy.
