FYI: do not read the questions aloud, you will be dismissed without warning... when your dismissed, it looks like a technical error, the program becomes unresponsive. I gave the 800 # a call and waited 23 mins for a representative to answer and that's when I found out my test was forfeited for reading aloud. To me, this is the easiest way to create profits, majority of people read aloud or talk there way through a situation when reading. This is ludicrous and I will no longer use your exam services
Every bit of this sounds like it is best to go to a facility that provides PearsonVUE testing. I think there are many people like me who is paying out of their own pocket for the test so they can get better jobs. No sense in making $200 bets on the opinions of people who designed it to be done from home.
Agreed, this is crazy. I have a learning disability and I need to be able to read out loud for information processing. I wonder if they honor ADA attestations for the home exam as they do for the in-person ones.
NOTE: I have had a few viewers advise they have been able to have a bottle of water with them while they take the exam, seems I may be wrong on this point. Thanks everyone for the feedback on that!

I had a terrible experience taking the MB800 exam online last Sunday. I had to uninstall Teams and Dropbox, take pictures of my room, unplug my extended monitor, and scan my ID. I also had to wait 20 minutes for someone to start my exam. I wish I had watched a video about the exam before taking it. The instructions were unclear, and I had to figure out many things on my own. I also think the wait time to start the exam was too long. There is no phone number and chat can assist you to contact them.

Here are some tips as experienced in last day when appearing MB800 exam online: wish watched this video before. Make sure you have all of the required software uninstalled (Teams, dropbox etc.) and your ID scanned before your exam starts. Give your family members a heads-up that you will be taking an exam and that they should not come into your room during the exam. Be patient and wait for someone to start your exam. If you don't hear keep waiting, I was waiting almost 25mins...with showing recording screen and my camera was on.

They stopped me twice and threatened to stop the exam because of two things. 1). The chair I had was uncomfortable so I was moving too much in the chair. 2) Comical but annoying - I was reading the questions to myself and my lips were moving although I wasn't talking. Overall it made it very stressful and distracting to take my test. Go to a testing center if you can! If not, do what Lisa says here and it will help a lot.
Thanks for sharing your not so good experience, I have heard the same from others who have been called out for reading the questions to themselves. For some the testing center is a better option, you're right (although when I do the test from home nobody asks me to take off my boots to check inside!)

Cool you are almost convince to not try and then not lose my money ;-) If you can't set the room properly the exam will be charged ? What about the language, if the examen is in french, the viewer will be french speaker too ? no glass of water seriously ? Is it the same process for all certifications like UML or Prince2 ?
Great video - I done the full system check prior to the exam and was good to go and could see myself in the webcam, however the proctor said they could not see me? Any ideas, I allowed the OnVue application access to both my microphone and camera and passed the system test, however the proctor could not see my camera as being enabled?

Hi Lisa I am kind of new here and trying to understand the process, I am trying to pass my real estate license for Florida while I am living in Indiana. I just discovered the pearsonvue possibility which will be awesome so I don’t have to fly to go to Florida to pass the exam. So by using this test online will it prevent me to have to go to Florida ? Or is it just a test that I have to take before passing the actual test ?
The photos you take on your phone happen before you connect with the proctor. They text you a link to a website where you upload them. Once you are online with the proctor then it is your webcam they use to check your room for more detail if needed.

Microsoft has a very thorough recruitment process that depends on the role. Certification alone won't get you a job, but it is certainly a good thing to have on your resume in this area.

The sheets are a very good idea which I hadn't thought of as an option. My desk is an L shape and I wonder if they would allow me to just cover a portion of my desk so I don't have to put everything in/on it somewhere else. But that additional monitors are not allowed to even be plugged in is just.... *sigh* If the software locks down what you do, why does it matter how many monitors are connected? When I see all these rules, especially that you can't even access your own reference material that you absolutely can use at any job where you would use the systems this cert is for, I just can't help but remember my elementary school teacher saying "you need to know how to do this math in your head because you won't always have a calculator in your pocket." How quickly that sentence became out of date! Anyway. Enough complaining on a very helpful video. Thank you!
I probably do more than is needed (especially with the sheets) but I find that’s the easier path (and preferable to me than having to show a proctor online through my room). It’s kind of a pain but once you’ve done it once it does usually work out. Since I published this you can now access Microsoft Learn for role based exams so that’s a big improvement. Agree with you there is really very little value in having to memorise things you always have access to.

No, they send you a text message and you click through and do that part on your phone and then when it's finished you put your phone away and continue on your computer.

It is hard the first time, which is why I put this video together to help. Once you've done it once, it's not hard. Where I live, in person centers have been closed for most of the last 18 months so we haven't had any other choice.

When you go through the process you put in your phone number and they text you a link which you open on your phone and submit the photos through there. You don’t need an app. Good luck with the exam.

Pearson VUE is the company / system that delivers Microsoft technical and other exams. I’ve only ever used them for sitting Microsoft exams. I have no idea what psi is, sorry, not in my field.

You need to do it in your head, or using the onscreen calculator. I found this hard to adjust to, I like writing things down to help me figure it out, which you can do in a test center but not via online proctored exam unfortunately.

based on my experience: 1) When you book your exam you choose from the languages available for that exam. I've only ever done mine in English so I'm sorry I'm not the most qualified to answer this one! 2) They are looking for things in the room that might be things where you've hidden cheats - there would be no problem with a sofa or closed wardrobe. I toss the sheet over things because I have shelves full of lots of things and I'm just making it easier on myself 3) Yes, I've always had my results instantly when I finish the exam, same as in the test center 4) I think if that happened you'd be cut off from the exam and would need to reach out to Pearson Vue support to reschedule
How do I take the photos in the check-in phase if I take the exam on my laptop? I understood that I can take them through my mobile. But how do I transfer the photos to the laptop?
You don't need to transfer them, they send a link to your mobile, you take the photos, and they go directly from the mobile back to Pearson Vue through that mobile link. Then you put your phone away and continue on the laptop.

They are very small and clearly jewelry. Is it ok to have them in? I saw something on the site that they check ears for Bluetooth
I don’t have any first hand experience with that but I think it would be fine, you might need to show them close up so be prepared for that just in case.
There is a little calculator built in to the exam experience on screen. I’ve never done a math heavy exam, it may be worth asking them specifically what is available for those.

You start on your computer and that gives you the option to send a link to your phone, you use your phone to take the photos and submit them, then put your phone away and go back to your computer for the exam.

you will need to have audio directly from your computer or hook speakers up to your computer - try reaching out to Pearson Vue help for what they will allow.

Depends on the setup, I think you'd be fine (as long as you don't reach down to get anything out of the storage during the exam!). You need to not have any papers or books visible to you during the exam.
When I go for review, what happens if I change a question and the time is over, it will submit with the updated answers? Do I need to save the reviews or as soon I change it and exit the review it is already updated to the new values? Thank you in advance!
There is a timer on the exam that counts down to show you how much time is allowed. you can change your answers in review within that time but once the time expires you will be locked out of the exam and can't make any further changes.

It isn't a very transparent process. My last assumption is that the purchase must be verified and then I will subsequently be sent login details. Also, I purchased this product because it is what Microsoft recommends for preparation for ITS Development test (prerequisite for MSSA program for veterans).

Yes you get a text message with a link and that takes you to a website where you take your photos. You do them as prompted by that website using your device camera, you don’t take them before and then upload.
Can my internet connection be swapped during exam, suppose one internet connection has some techinal issue during exam , can it be switched to another network connection ?
If that happens you should log a ticket with Pearson Vue support and request a reschedule of the exam. I had a tech fail the first time and they rescheduled for me without charge. I had to wait a few days for a response. Also best to use hard wired internet if possible to avoid this.

When you take the images on before the exam starts, it sends a URL to your phone, and you open that from your phone and take the images through that, so you don't need to do any uploading

I have recently joined a company as a functional consultant and I have knowledge of all the modules (sales, service, marketing and field service) and now recently I have got a link for CRM Fundamentals training. After I have attended the training I have got a link saying that I am eligible for a free test for MB 910. So my question here is Should I take the exam MB 910 directly without taking PL 900 or PL 200 or MB 210, will that be fine and beneficial ? Please help me out
As a Functional Consultant the PL200 and MB210 (and other 200 series) are the ones that will be the most relevant/valuable certs for your role. However, I think it's worth doing 910 as well (especially if you have it for free). It's a much lower technical level, but focuses in on business value which isn't covered in the same way in the 200 level exams. And I think it's worth functional consultants also having a good understanding of business value.

None of the exams I've taken have allowed a break, although I believe some of them have scheduled breaks - the exam page will tell you if that's the case.

Don’t use an All-In-One pc with integrated web-can. It becomes difficult to move it to show your workspace.
I've always used a laptop which I can pick up and turn around the room, but I can understand if it's a full PC that would be difficult!

You can use the built in webcam on your laptop (that’s what I do)

No, they send you a text message and you click through and do that part on your phone and then when it's finished you put your phone away and continue on your computer.

No, I've always done these exams with just the camera and mic built in to my laptop.

It is hard the first time, which is why I put this video together to help. Once you've done it once, it's not hard. Where I live, in person centers have been closed for most of the last 18 months so we haven't had any other choice.

When you go through the process you put in your phone number and they text you a link which you open on your phone and submit the photos through there. You don’t need an app. Good luck with the exam.

The exams I've taken don't have a math section. I think there is a little built in calculator in the exam platform that you can use though.

Pearson VUE is the company / system that delivers Microsoft technical and other exams. I’ve only ever used them for sitting Microsoft exams. I have no idea what psi is, sorry, not in my field.

You need to do it in your head, or using the onscreen calculator. I found this hard to adjust to, I like writing things down to help me figure it out, which you can do in a test center but not via online proctored exam unfortunately.
i took a test in person and we are allowed a blank board to write anything we want once we get in, can we have a blank sheet at home?

based on my experience:
1) When you book your exam you choose from the languages available for that exam. I've only ever done mine in English so I'm sorry I'm not the most qualified to answer this one!
2) They are looking for things in the room that might be things where you've hidden cheats - there would be no problem with a sofa or closed wardrobe. I toss the sheet over things because I have shelves full of lots of things and I'm just making it easier on myself
3) Yes, I've always had my results instantly when I finish the exam, same as in the test center
4) I think if that happened you'd be cut off from the exam and would need to reach out to Pearson Vue support to reschedule

How do I take the photos in the check-in phase if I take the exam on my laptop?
I understood that I can take them through my mobile. But how do I transfer the photos to the laptop?
You don't need to transfer them, they send a link to your mobile, you take the photos, and they go directly from the mobile back to Pearson Vue through that mobile link. Then you put your phone away and continue on the laptop.
Thank you for this video! I am taking my exam this Saturday at home. I have 10 ear piercings that are screwed into my ears and can only get them in/out by going to a professional. They are very small and clearly jewelry. Is it ok to have them in? I saw something on the site that they check ears for Bluetooth
I don’t have any first hand experience with that but I think it would be fine, you might need to show them close up so be prepared for that just in case.
What happens if I hit the mute button on my microphone so that the random noise around me is not heard, would it be a problem?
I don't think you're allowed to do that but I haven't tried it myself.

What if the exam you’re taking is heavy on math? Are you not allowed paper and calculator?
There is a little calculator built in to the exam experience on screen. I’ve never done a math heavy exam, it may be worth asking them specifically what is available for those.

you will need to have audio directly from your computer or hook speakers up to your computer - try reaching out to Pearson Vue help for what they will allow.
How do you remove the software settings for OnVue? I still can't use a second monitor since I installed it for my exam (which had to be delayed).
You should just be able to uninstall it like any other program

my passport is outdated can I get and use an ID card for this or do you have to have two valid photo ids?

Depends on the setup, I think you'd be fine (as long as you don't reach down to get anything out of the storage during the exam!). You need to not have any papers or books visible to you during the exam.

Yes, I used bedsheets to cover over things in my room, I think using curtains to create a private space is a good idea

After you've signed in they tell you in the process when to switch it off. You switch it off before the exam is launched.

When I go for review, what happens if I change a question and the time is over, it will submit with the updated answers? Do I need to save the reviews or as soon I change it and exit the review it is already updated to the new values? Thank you in advance!
There is a timer on the exam that counts down to show you how much time is allowed. you can change your answers in review within that time but once the time expires you will be locked out of the exam and can't make any further changes.

It isn't a very transparent process. My last assumption is that the purchase must be verified and then I will subsequently be sent login details. Also, I purchased this product because it is what Microsoft recommends for preparation for ITS Development test (prerequisite for MSSA program for veterans).

Yes you get a text message with a link and that takes you to a website where you take your photos. You do them as prompted by that website using your device camera, you don’t take them before and then upload.

I think if your internet connection dropped out you would be out of the exam session and I don’t know if you could get back in

If that happens you should log a ticket with Pearson Vue support and request a reschedule of the exam. I had a tech fail the first time and they rescheduled for me without charge. I had to wait a few days for a response. Also best to use hard wired internet if possible to avoid this.

When you take the images on before the exam starts, it sends a URL to your phone, and you open that from your phone and take the images through that, so you don't need to do any uploading

So my question here is Should I take the exam MB 910 directly without taking PL 900 or PL 200 or MB 210, will that be fine and beneficial ? Please help me out
As a Functional Consultant the PL200 and MB210 (and other 200 series) are the ones that will be the most relevant/valuable certs for your role. However, I think it's worth doing 910 as well (especially if you have it for free). It's a much lower technical level, but focuses in on business value which isn't covered in the same way in the 200 level exams. And I think it's worth functional consultants also having a good understanding of business value.

None of the exams I've taken have allowed a break, although I believe some of them have scheduled breaks - the exam page will tell you if that's the case.
