That was a great episode. I liked how you told the story about how both Donald and Douglas managed to leave their old railway together. And having Boco in it was a great idea and a reason for Donald and Douglas to tell the story too :).
That was a nice way of focusing on Donald and Douglas' history and the way they decided to help Douglas/57647 escape from the scrapheap really reminded me of "The Missing Coach" and something that Bill and Ben would do. ;)
Promising concept but erm yeah regrettably too short. This could really have done with being a two parter. It was quite intriguing but it ended just too soon.
I'm sad to agree that this felt too short, aure WildNorWester did his own take on Douglas's escape, but the story could've continued on. Atleast you had an A4 present, as they were normally seen taking expresses towards there from Crewe.
Awesome one NWR1991! I like how you handled the backstory of the Caledonian twins, and what they went through during the formation of British Railways! I'm curious though, that Green A4 at the sheds, was that by some chance one of the originals, or just random engine? I'm just curious really!
***** Well he didn't bother to number it so it doesn't really carry any identity, so probably a random engine. Though if you're interested there was real A4s called "Golden Eagle" and "Sea Eagle" that were painted apple green (Not sure about any others). Though to be honest Apple Green seems like a very short lived livery for A4's. Golden Eagle and Sea Eagle do indeed carry Garter Blue too; they must've gotten that later in their careers.
I had some qualms about this episode. For one thing, it was too short. All I saw was Donald leaving with the brake van and that was the end. That shouldn't have been the end. We should've seen him meet up with Douglas later or something to let us know he was coming along, but we never got that. The only other flaw is that your narration wasn't loud enough. It was constantly being overshadowed by the background noise, which should only ever be just that - background noise. Your narration should be the foremost sound we hear. Maybe up the volume on your narration while lowering that of the background noise next time? Not trying to hate on your series and I apologize for only ever coming up with annoying nitpicks. Thank you for your time sir.
I can barely hear the narration in this due to the background noise in this. I think I got the story, but I'm going to need to rewatch it to get the story.
I thought the breakvan bit was confusing. Did Donald meet up with Douglas on the way and they both head off to Barrow together? Did Douglas take a train to Barrow then ask one of his friends to take it back in the opposite direction? What happened?
TobyandMavisforever There numbers were taken off very early in the morning and 57647 (Douglas) was to be scrapped, he's not under ownership anymore. So he pretended to be his twin 57646 (Donald) heading off for Sodor as the real one left earlier pretending to be Douglas, So the real Douglas escaped from scrap. As for Donald pretending to be Douglas, he told the Diesel, who was at the sheds with them earlier in the episode to take him to Barrow-In-Furness instead of the scrap yard.
Tank Engine 75 From what I remember when writing this, the A4’s were in Scotland due to poor dieselisation there as they pulled express trains to Aberdeen etc. www.eastbank.org.uk/a4.htm

Wonderful story. It's great to see how the twins will do anything to help each other. That's how siblings should be.
All I've got to say about this episode is, for D199: Once a steam hating jerk-wad, always a steam hating jerk-wad.
"Like a pair of wings." Nice analogy.
828 is a great locomotive and I have seen her up in steam and been in her cab while she is moving
Awesome video! Such a well written and directed story. I can't wait for your next video :)
3:50 And unfortntally he's still around. :P
I quite like this, though in future, make your sound effects and music slightly more quiet.
great story loved it all and great to see D199 back
another great episode you are a great story teller

This is an awesome video!I really like it!

Yes at least wilbert awdry written about what happened during the twins s timer on sodor
At around 4:28, is it 57646 or 647 to leave? What happened to the other then?

Oh! I see now! Thanks for telling me, I understand now!
The fact is I know more about British railways than American ones.

Clever move, both of them. And of course they named themselves somewhere along the way, I assume.
Hey i don't know is this is confirmed but do you know anything about Thomas being cancelled after 2017? Heard they were going to end it???
No it was a lie
What I can't understand is. How did Donald and Douglas manage to get their old numbers off? Unless if any of you had any ideas
+nicholas peberdy - Since they're not owned by British Rail anymore, they don't need them anymore, they're scraped off.
Why Is There An A4 In Here The A4s Are Never Located In The Scottish Region Of British Railways
