The US Air Force is ramping up work on NGAD

Electronic warfare is another critical focus, with the NGAD expected to employ advanced systems for both offensive and defensive operations. This includes the ability to detect, identify, and counter enemy radar and communication systems, potentially using directed energy weapons for both defense against incoming threats and to disrupt enemy systems.
