@@johnm1720yes it would, these cars had no shocks, and mechanical brakes. You might not know what mechanical brakes are, they were man power brakes. The harder you pushed, the better they worked. Basically they sucked. And if you drove through mud, they wouldn't work at all.
Used to enjoy going for rides in a model A, the owners belonged to a local model a club. These cars are now being sold for half of what they used to be worth 30 years ago. so it's a good time to buy them now

@@VoloMuseumAutoSales sounds good as long as you don't compare speed. These old cars like tractors navigated the whole country on cart tracks etc. I bet this car has more clearance!
@@VoloMuseumAutoSalesyou would be surprised at how well this car would do. These old flathead engines are basically tractor engines. They just keep pushing forward. It was about torque, not horsepower.

The guy that was giving me the driving test was staring at me driving a 3 in the tree standard. I was explaining to him how a 3 speed column shift works, while he was testing me on driving skills. I passed, by the way. And I still have the 1964 ford f-100.
Yeah I guess I don't know who redid it or not but it's a nice car but you still can't drive at legally with no seat belt so I guess that's on me if I buy the I have to pay someone to add seat belts and put them in their security someplace I guess I mean you get stopped by the cops you're going to going to say hey the car's n1931 it wasn't made with seat belts a couple say okay go ahead you're fine I don't think so I don't know why people don't think about all that kind of stuff it's you know it's not original if it got seatbelt oh my but you can't drive it legally if it doesn't please everyone believe me when I say this I never liked seatbelt I only wear them now because if I don't have one on I can't afford to pay the freaking tickets that's why I wear mine I came up with some of the cars had seat belts and some of them didn't but then most of the time I never took the time to put one on hand because I flipped my 66 Plymouth fury III convertible with a 383 cubic inch motor in a 4-speed on the floor with a bench seat come from the factory like that and I flipped it end over end five or six times almost died and I would have died if I would have had my seatbelt that's what the state police told my mom and dad but I guess they're safer did not happen
@@mrknotthall Lloyd seems to only leave comments on cars without seat belts, about them not having seat belts. And we have tried to get him to acknowledge what you are saying before. But we are pretty sure you are generally correct. But should caveat it by saying it likely varies by state or even county/city here in the US, and at a federal level could also be different but.... At least here in IL, you should be okay. (625 ILCS 5/12-603.1) (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 12-603.1) (a) (b) 5. (a) Each driver and passenger of a motor vehicle operated on a street or highway in this State shall wear a properly adjusted and fastened seat safety belt. (b) Paragraph (a) shall not apply to any of the following: 5. A motor vehicle with a model year prior to 1965. Now I don't think anyone would argue that it would be smart & safer to have them but as Lloyd has said that "but you still can't drive at legally with no seat belt" simply isn't true.
@@mrknotthallno your not, I had to install seat belts in my 1949 Hudson. Seat belts, turn signals and backup lights have to be installed. It sucks, and you have to alter the car. But you will get a ticket every time your pulled over. This was told to me by a judge when i tried to fight it. And it's a insurance requirement as well.

In 1931, 45 mph was flying. No one had roads you could run that fast on. This is a beautiful car. Exactly as it should be.

I used to make parts for these when I was younger. That thing is in perfect condition it appears.

I think you’re grandfathered in if a car didn’t come with seat belts.
