It's really refreshing to see how people who aren't us react to these Films, and the reality of the situations they address. As a person who grew up in, and dealt with a lot of the Pitfalls of the Streets, it's crazy just how easily you can fall into it. It's just as crazy how hard it is to get out, without having to suffer certain consequences. Love you guys, and your reactions.
Thanks so much for your kind words. It’s really appreciated. I can only imagine how hard it was for you growing up in those situations. I only hope you were able to break free and make a good life for yourself, and like Charles Dutton said, stay alive. A wonderful actor and powerful performance.
Crazy how Kane constantly brought troubles to himself , he s actually been very lucky throughout the whole movie , great memories though and you guys are such an adorabLe couple ☺️☺️👍🏾👍🏾 much love and respect to you
Great review! Kane’s words “it’s funny like that in the hood sometimes,” ring in my mind often as violence strikes here in Chicago. The hood is a jungle and only the cautious survive 💪🏽
I wanted to see your reaction to when they visited Pernell in prison. The message comes together with that scene in my opinion. Plus the contrast between Pernell in the opening flashback and Pernell in prison is gripping. Glenn Plummer did amazing.
Great reactions and very insightful dialogue (I just joined yall channel fam). No matter how many times I see this film (I've probably seen it over 50 times, lol), that ending always gets me emotional... "Amazing-Powerful-Movie."
Thanks a lot. Glad to have you as a viewer. South Central is on our list. Next up I think is Higher Learning. It is set around the same time period and the same time I was at college.
within the first 1:33. everything was fine. you only have to pause every 30 to 40 seconds. but it's your channel, so you can do what you want. so, I'll give yall a sub to see what's next.
I wish I only had to pause every 30 to 40 seconds…..I could always make a patreon account and post the whole reaction, watch along style, with no worries about copyright. If there was enough interest I could do that.
Thanks very much. Thanks for the sub also. I wish I could make my clips longer. Some of our older stuff is longer but I kept getting hit with copyright and the vid is blocked. So I would go back in and edit some more and put the stupid transparency over the video like I did with Lethal Weapon and Wonderful Life. If I cut the clips shorter than 5 seconds each and try to cut up any music(which is hard btw), I don’t get hit with copyright and don’t have to put the transparency over the video. I really don’t know how some channels get away with longer clips. It’s kind just the luck of the draw when I upload. Thanks again for sticking around.
This was easily my #1 favorite 'hood' movie of all time. I think one of the scenes that bothered me the most was Kane's cousin Harold littering on his way out of the party house. LOL
She said tell the cops!! Hahaha 🤣 black people in the Hood don't call the cops. We call the homies strap up and go get our justice, it's called a eye for eye
You are right it's not, but that doesn't mean I don't remember what was happening back then. And it wasn't Orange County I lived in, it was Riverside. My Grandma lived in OC.
I love that one. Sorry she has seen that one, with me years ago, before the channel. Please, keep the suggestions coming. At 500 subscribers I get the community tab and I will do polls so everyone can pick what we watch next.
The sagging pants comes from the poverty, u dont have clothes that fit growing up cus u have to wear hand me downs from older siblings and fathers n uncles, then prolly cant afford a belt or the hand me down belts are too big, plus i prison u lose hella weight cus the food is shitty and u cant have belts cus suicide and they dont care so they dont give u clothes that fit, nowadays its a style, but back then it really wasnt it was the struggle, and yea u think who cant afford simple belts n pants, but thats really how poor ppl were back then, so technically they kinda messed up cus they obviously wore pants that fit in the movie
@garveydent most kids was sagging and wearing big clothes and never been to prison before cus they went to youth camps and juvenile facilities cus thats how it went back then so they had hand me downs and broke belts or no belts. Kids goin to grown men prisons is a newer thing, im talking before the 80s before crack and drugs dealing was a big thing, before regular pistols and automatics when all u had was a 32 or 38 or 25, IF u even had that, before kids and teens were dealers when it was a grown man thing and they wouldn't even let kids do it cus they had morals as gangsters not gang bangers and hoodlums, all that drug dealer ish and rap wasnt even a thing or a negtauve influence were talking 70s, 60s, and 50s and maybe before that..
I think by now, the 9mm has killed more that the .38, because revolvers have lost popularity fast in the past 15-20 years. personally I will always be a revolver guy
Cause It’s this generation young dudes only care about the guns that “look good” instead being smart & using a revolver, most of em’ don’t even realize with a revolver you’re literally taking the evidence with you 🤦🏽🤦🏽
@@Stanleyearl998 well, Im 44 and I have to admit my love of revolvers is at least in part aesthetic. To me, from the old west colt style to the classic dirty harry S&W 29 all of those guns have a physical beauty to them that most autoloaders dont(with the exception of the 1911, thats just a good lookin handgun lol)
For long period of time especially back in the '80s it was one way in and one way out out of the Jordan down projects and police never came in there unless they were deep serving search warrants.

Unfortunately stereotypes are that because they can be right. Southern California is heavily populated by Asians. Where I lived in Huntington Beach it was right next to Little Saigon a dominantly Vietnamese community

Y’all would love Poetic Justice starring Janet Jackson & 2pac. Also Baby Boy too. Both directed by the late John Singleton (who made Boyz n Da Hood)
Rest In Peace John Singleton. Great filmmaker. The Hughes Brothers did wonderfully with this one. We both really enjoyed it.

Yes, a little bit of naïveté
