What it's Really Like to Crew on a Race Boat

- This is a point of view video showing what it is like being a member of a sailboat race crew. Watch to the end to pick up pointers and decide if this is a sport you would like to try.
This was the sixth race from the Bluffers Park Basin Summer race series held August 9th, 2023.
Ross Eddie and the crew of Seascape, a C&C 27 MK V sailboat, easily won this race with a corrected time of 1:09:46.

Yes the start can be unnerving.
This felt pretty familiar to me! Looks like a good time. One suggestion, you seemed to have a lot of trouble with the whisker pole. Could you attach it on deck to the toerail and not have to wrestle it down below?
I think you are right about that. I pretty sure I have the part to do that with in my bucket of stuff. So I will mention that to Ross.👍

On a race boat the tactician, helm and skipper are three different roles.
@@Lightw81 Don't let the hat fool you. I left my regular white cap at home and had to grab the only hat I had on my own boat labelled "Skipper". I am just the grunt that does as he is told. Usually I am just rail meat shooting video.
