I’m a barrel racer I dint rly do cattle as much but the other day I sent in a feild with cattle and my mare knows how to keep up with them she’s actually really good

@@depphead_edits9455 I don’t think what Claire did was on purpose or out of malice and I don’t think @Kate Lynch meant any hate towards Claire in her comment. I just know that for myself, out of a curtesy for our horses, it is nice to try to set the heavier saddles down on their backs. Just like how doing up a girth slowly instead of sharply pulling it tight is a curtesy. Just a little extra way to say thanks to our horses. :)
@@depphead_edits9455 it wasn’t hate. It was a little snarky tho because yea she definitely didn’t need to throw the saddle onto the horses back. This can hurt a horse especially if done frequently so no the horse wasn’t “okay🤣🤣🤣”

@@EquiEsti6194 okay girl chilll... western horses are VERY used to heavy saddles getting thrown up there. Claire did no wrong she does it how I do it lol (I’m a western rider) my horses are vet checked and very well taken care of.. there perfectly healthy🤣

I think you should try barrels, pole bending, western pleasure, and maybe just go to a fun/game show and try it there’s a TON of fun random patterns to do with your horse!!

This was awesome! I just do barrel racing and I didn't know there were competitions for this! The most I've done is herd and work cattle on my friends ranch for vaccines. It is always fun getting to try a new discipline, I rode english on my friend's horse for the first time a few days ago and it was like bareback with stirrups which makes everything y'all do in English so much more impressive!
This is bringing me so much joy Claire! You even gave me another teaching tool for tacking up with my students! My western rider heart is so happy! 🤍 And I can’t thank you enough for not tight girthing that sweet boy. Love your videos!

You should try extreme county racing. It isn’t talked about much but it is really fun. It is basically just doing obstacles but you are timed. I have never done cattle sorting but from what I can see you did pretty good!!!

I’m hoping to try sorting sometime! I do mostly reining/all around western, and there aren’t any places locally, but maybe someday. I really want to do working cowhorse someday!!
You need to place the stirrup on the saddle horn whenever you deal with tacking up, doing/undoing the cinch, and untacking.
You did well but was quite funny to see you try to do rising trot alot... on a western saddle 😜

AWESOME! I haven't sorted cattle on horse back in a while ( my heart horse died last fall) so I have to train my new horse to work cattle. So we use 4 wheelers and Jeeps for cattle LOL

Mounted games aren't really a huge thing in the US we have similar things but it's not really an event like mounted games. (Well rodeo kinda is but)
