TRULY! A beautiful story! What a wonderful and remarkable child! I totally love the fact that she drew a picture as well! Host of Artistry in Jazz on Jazz 90.1 FM WGMC Rochester, New York
My husband's truck was hit one night, a little after 2 a.m. Our upstairs neighbor looked out and saw the guy in his white Tundra with a camper, who proceeded to drive his damaged truck away. Our neighbor drove around looking for him, but didn't find him. The next morning, when we realized our truck and another car had been hit and run, after our neighbor told us what he saw, we decided to drive around and look for a damaged truck. Our street is a freeway offramp, taken by people who know the area and find it more convenient than the main street. So we figured the person had to be somewhat nearby. We knew they could hide it in a garage or under a cover, but we also knew the truck was heavily damaged and couldn't go far. To make a long story with a lot of details shorter, we found the truck in a church parking lot, with the driver and his friend nearby. We called the police, who came and got the info. but he wasn't charged with a DUI or a hit and run. Anyway, we eventually got reimbursed from his insurance, and we gave our neighbor a pie for his help. If he hadn't have seen the type of truck, and been the type to look for it, we never would have known who hit us. Oh, and the guy who hit us is an elementary teacher at that church. Of all things.
Why do Steve Hartman's stories always make me tear up? Damn! :)
The note was too cute. She's a smart girl.
Must've been an awkward bus drive the next day.
Very nice. Integrity is a beautiful quality, as is honesty.
Your community needs more of you. don't stop
This young girl is teaching us to live a courageous, holy life. ☮️

I thought Andrew, whose car was hit, was going to wind up engaged to Zaira’s mom, Takara. 💝
Me too. We're such hopeless romantics.
Loved it!
