    Niko, hello from West Tennessee! I recently subscribed to your videos and found you stopped at kmkl (jackson tennessee). back when I was flying I did my 3 tower touch and goes there. I really enjoy your videos and learn from them. thank you for producing them. I hope to be able to get back into flying some day. Thanks and safe travels.

    Hey Niko, just discovered your channel a couple weeks ago. Working my way backwards and checking all your videos out. I really enjoy and this one was great because you landed in my backyard. :) I actually live 25 minutes away from Toledo Express but it was so cool to know you were close and yet it was 2 years ago. Anyway, keep up the great videos and safe flying.

    You sound like somebody who can teach. I would like to see you do some instructional videos. Filing IFR. Instrrument panel functions, radio communications. Various stages of your flights take-off, climb , enroute, descent and navigation. You would really make a lot of instrument training students very happy.

    Thank you for excellent editing and for capturing the ATC dialogue. You were very decisive on course deviation and gave us a good narrative. It amazed me that you were speaking of hot Florida weather and ultimately used the FIKI system on this trip. What year is your SR 22? How did you determine your altitude deviations? What is the best source en route to determine various altitude temps?

    • @NikosWings
      @NikosWings  7 років тому +1

      Todd Bravo Fox P'Pool it's a 2006. For altitudes it's a decision based on winds aloft, turbulence, clouds, temps. If you know your temps at a certain altitude you'll know what it will be higher or lower based on standard lapse rates. Thanks for watching!

    Hey Niko! Great video as always.
    You mentioned during your flight that you don't have full confidence in the plane's autopilot system. Is that something you would consider upgrading, or would you just continue to live with it since you know the quirks of this plane?
    Always look forward to your videos. You make it look so easy, and your explanations are concise and understandable. Keep your videos coming - you're my favorite UA-cam flying channel! 👍

    Hey Niko, somehow I missed this video. Watched it this morning and really enjoyed your planing and input of your flight plan in the gps to Toledo. When you mentioned how you didn't like putting in all the individual codes, it struck me to ask what your thoughts were on the new Perspective system with the bluetooth connectivity to mobile devices? I've seen they allow direct communication between Perspective and Foreflight eliminating the need for manual input.

    • @NikosWings
      @NikosWings  6 років тому

      I didn’t know that the perspective system talks to foreflight, if it does it would be awesome. I have not used the new perspective system though but I want to try it out one of these days.

      Thanks for watching! I record audio using my iPhone with a wire I purchased on sporty's. it's a pain to marry the video with the audio for production but this way I have both the ambient sound of the aircraft recorded on the GoPro and cockpit audio as well.

      Niko's Wings Niko: I have never owned an airplane with an autopilot, and as you know, it is an incredible workload to stay at altitude and on course during long cross countries flying by yourself. From what we see on the videos, the STEC 55 seems to do a pretty good job.

    Hey Niko,
    It's me, your political buddy. lol. Checking out your videos now.
    I'm thinking about getting a Cirrus SR22 soon, and that's what led me to your great channel. Question.. How is it flying with that side stick controller? That's the one thing that's kept me from buying a Cirrus. That seems so awkward to use left hand only control, single joystick, that's already tilted at an unusual angle, not a straight stick flyer.
    I haven't flown one yet.. I just really like all the features on that plane. Would you recommend one again if you had to buy all over ? Would you prefer a different style controller? How's the feeling of the side stick? I see you muscling that thing a bit more than usual on landing. I love the capability of the Cirrus, but they had to go put that side cockpit penis sticking out of the front dashboard and I just can't get use to the way it looks. I'd be grabbing for center column out of habit, or, traditional yoke. I just don't know how you handle using that .. I need to fly one I guess. Nobody around here owns one, so very difficult to try and fly it without knowing someone with a Cirrus local.

    • @NikosWings
      @NikosWings  7 років тому

      Poppa Bear hey buddy, she flies like a dream, fast, powerful, super responsive, great utility.
      I had the same thoughts as you before I flew one. I could not swallow the side yoke idea.
      When I have it a chance I was instantly hooked. It felt extremely natural to me. But I also had about 300 hours in Diamonds DA40 so I was used to the stick idea.
      Yet, the side yoke (not a side stick) rolls like a stick but pitched like a yoke.
      The way it's angled it is perfectly ergonomically designed.
      Go try it or when you are down in So. FL let's go fly. Feel free to reach out to me here and we will exchange numbers.

      I was in Boca Raton not too long ago. I worked with your local airport commission, and I was actually in, on and around the tower there. I flew into Boca and stayed a couple nights there and really liked Boca. Nice city. I ate at some place the first night, that was like an Irish pub.. Flannigans maybe? I forget now..
      Anyways, I put in the entire system around your airport there, for sound monitoring... lear jets were causing too much noise, so I put in a wireless system I designed, to scatter sound level monitoring microphones around the airport. Had a lot of people in Boca complaining about the air traffic noise.
      I also got to meet Jeff Gordon from NASCAR there in your local airport when he was jumping on his plane.
      Wife and I will be moving from California to North Carolina soon... I was just thinking about it, when you flew into Donaldson to refuel and stretch your legs, that you likely flew over my future home and business during this video. haha.
      I have a nice fishing boat. Looking forward to getting off this coast, and getting out there to NC. I'll definitely be closer at that point, and may be worth it to hook up at some time. Do you like fishing? I'm really looking forward to the bluefin and yellowfin tuna fishing there on the east coast.
      I've been driven off this coast due to radically failing politics, and one of my businesses I manufacture firearms parts.. Imagine this type of business on the west coast... not good. Look forward to checking out more of your videos when I get time my friend. Take care and hopefully talk soon.
      Not sure what you do for a living, but I'm an electronic engineer, specializing in RF design. I've developed and hold patents to some pretty cool stuff in the geek arena. αντιο σας for now!

    • @NikosWings
      @NikosWings  7 років тому +1

      Poppa Bear that sounds quite amazing! Yes, the west coast is gorgeous but too expensive and it's getting worst. I do go fishing sometimes, it's fun, but for me it's all about the time spent with friends on the boat. The fishing is secondary.
      I go up to NC quite a bit, when you move let me know.

    • @poppabear9279

      I will bud. Won't be long. My mom took off today to find them a place to live, likely in Tennessee... We are going to be making the move afterwards, to New Bern, or south.. somewhere around that area.
      I will let you know. I'm excited, yet scared, leaving everything I have known my entire life behind and making a new start on the east coast. I look forward to it however. This west coast truly sucks. California has been destroyed politically.
