This is me taking on the accent tag challenge with my Belfast/ Northern Irish Accent. Also throwing in some Belfast Slang explanations for those who can't understand me!

It’s not “fis”, it is “face” that she says, but the Irish hard “a” is softer than the American or Canadian hard “a”. It’s similar to the way Jamaicans pronounce vowels. A little different, but still valid English.

In North America, trainers are called sneakers, and slaters are called roly-poly bugs. I’ll try to put in the rest of the North American equivalents of the rest in the morning, after I write down all you listed.

I’ve always found the Belfast accent slightly more Scottish.... other places in N. Ireland like Derry/L.Derry have a stronger “Irish” accent

I’m from Ohio in the US: it’s called toilet papering, the bug is called a Rollie polie, pop (for fizzy drink), we call gym shoes tennis shoes, shopping cart for grocery cart, we also use the word clicker for tv remote.

A lot of people don't get "sun shower". I'm from New York and we say that. I wonder if people in other parts of Ireland also say sun shower or if it's a Northern Irish thing. Btw, "toliet papering" is technically correct, but it's always shortened here to just "TP'ing".

Ireland and Northern Ireland are two different countries mate , Northern Irelandis part of the UK,Ireland isnt despite the fact we share the geographic Island of Ireland

I think you did good lass. Seeing as studied with at Uni with Irish students from Norn'Iron and the Republic. I would think Belfast hast the sexiest accent but I would vote for Fermanagh. Though you don't have a strong Belfast accent. I have been over a few times since and Pandemics permitting I hope to go to New Horizon next year in the North.

I like your accent because you use slang words that we never hear in America. Each country has their own slang words but Northern Ireland has some pretty cool ones, especially when a pretty girl is speaking.
