It has been heavy on my heart the past couple of weeks. Trying to piece this build and video together was one of the hardest things I've done. He was an absolute legend. Abiit sed non oblitus. 🫶
Sorry again for your loss, it’s never easy to lose someone who means so much to us. I really hope this helps you to remember your love for your grandpa. Much Love! 👊
I lost my grandfather nearly a decade ago and it still breaks my heart when I think of him, they're huge parts of our lives , condolences to you and your family ❤
I am so sorry for your loss. I know how hard it is to lose such a beloved family figure. I'm sure your Pappy is looking down and is happy with your build and your tribute to him. Once again my condolences to you and your family.
Hey I could hear the love and respect you had for your grandfather in every word you spoke in this video. Reading every fact about him I think he was a man that I would have liked to know. Carry on, sir 🫡
Very nice, Thomas. The emotion in your voice nearly killed me. No doubt Pappy is proud to have felt your love for him. Thank you for sharing that piece of your life with us.
I've lost several family members recently, and it never gets any easier. It is one of the few constants in lfe. Makes you appreciate every moment a little more. Thanks for the kind words
Thanks so much. The great thing about creativity is that the more you use, the more you have. Creativity inspires creativity. Being open and raw for the world to see definitely makes me vulnerable and self-conscious, but mentally, I feel a release that makes it worth it.
Hey, I'm so sorry to hear about you grandfather, amazing job honoring him in this way, keeping his spirit alive and his service in the force, I loss my father on April 25, 2004 and I'm still trying to find a way to honor him as a Carpenter and you have given me an idea of how to make something that would honor him well, so thank you so much for the video!
This makes me so happy to hear. This video was extremely hard to piece together and very personal to share. My hope was to inspire others to use creativity to work through stuff. Let me know how it goes if you do decide to build something. I would love to see it.
I know the pain and heartache you're going through all too well - my maternal grandmother passed away April 1, 2022, and my father passed away September 29th of last year. My grandmother was 97; my father would've been 73 in October last year. We had a celebration of my father's life in November. I made a cover for the plastic urn his ashes were in; I built it from EVA foam, with faux tiles and faux wood panels on the sides - he was a tile setter, and he loved working with wood; cutting and splitting firewood, building a log hunting cabin, hunting, or just driving his four-wheeler through the woods. On the top I added his name, dates of birth and leaving this plane, and a phrase he said often - "No more job talk."
I have lost several family members this year and I know as I get older that it will happen more often. Doesn't make dealing with the loss any easier. We just have to cherish the moments we have and be present with our time together. Thanks for sharing your creativity to commemorate your loss as well. We need those reminders.
I'm truly sorry for your loss Thomas... That is a beautiful commemorative badge, your pappy would be proud of you... That guitar your pappy played, an early 50s model Gibson F model, yes? My dad, now me, had had a 1934F guitar. He sorta taught me to play guitar. Now I'm back in to try playing guitar, banjo, and ukulele... My dad was also in the navy, Korean conflict in the mid 50s... God called him home in Sept. 2011... I miss him too
I was always entertained seeing my grandfather pull out his guitar and harmonica. He was also a really good singer, too. Realizing that he never learned how to read music and was able to do all of it from memory just blew my mind. Just a few of his many talents. Thanks for the condolences, my friend. Here's to our legendary kin.👊🫶
@@MuchProps my dad had an ear for music as well.. he could listen to a song, fumble thru the notes and then start playing right along with the song as he watched the band on tv
He actually lived over by the airport, and we live in Duncanville. I was pretty young but still have found memories of time with him in Dallas before they retired and moved out into the country. Thanks

Could you make a faceless mask from the anime Chigiro's Journey?
Can't make any promises, but thanks for the suggestion.
