I agree, I love Puzata Hata too. Because of the current situation in Ukraine I wasn't able to go this summer, I am in Vilnius, Lithuania now and it is very clean and gorgeous too.
diego mx In Portugal and especially Spain there's a lot to do and life is exiting. Lithuania is more relaxing and very clean, but the people is still not up to western standards in terms of being open minded. Germany is just OK in my taste, but very clean and organized. kiev is not as clean and gorgeous, but I like that city more.
Thank you so much. My soul is crying - I miss this simplicity and joy. Currently I live in Colorado, USA. No people walking on the streets over here.I like here, but hey,Ukraine/Kiev is/will always be in my heart.I grew up there.I love it forever.I know the streets that you are walking on.I used to go for a walk there after the school. My school was not far away from Besarabskiy Rinok(Bazar). You are going straight to Maidan Nezalezhnosti (The Independence Square) I recognized every single building
I was in Kiev in 2011, very sad what is going on there. It is a beautiful city and I hope that it see's peace and much prosperity in the near and distant future. Your video capture of Independance Square is how I remember it, I hope it comes back to that.
Thank you very much for sharing this wonderful video. I was in Kiev long ago, in 1989 and it is a wonderful city. Its magic and friendly people make me strongly desire to go back someday. I felt as though I was there. Thank you again.
Thank you for watching, I just got back from Kiev last wee and I was in the middle of all the protests. I hope for my beloved friends in Ukraine that everything is resolved peacefully.
You're welcome. it really helps you in terms of orientation and where to go. I watched a lot videos from Kiev before my first visit and any time I visit a place I always watch videos, it really helps me before I travel.
thanks for posting this..I was in kiev in 2005 for two weeks in the middle of winter..the city was spectacular..i stayed in an apartment right on kratchysk street, it is in the video at 14:50..the building with the yellow facade on the first floor..
If you notice, one side of the Kretschatik (odd numbers) has newer buildings. It was completely ruined during the war and my mother worked there, cleaning the debris, making room for new construction. Thank you for the memories! I live in Los Angeles since 1979, but every few years I become home sick and come to visit. I think it's time...
Awesome. I stayed at that same Hotel.)) . The Partner Guest House, Kind of a scary shit hole across the street when that one is full. But I love the Lviv Bagel shop there. Thank you for the wonderful memories.))
I am Canadian of Black Welsh and Ukrainian heritage and when I finish school, I want to visit the countries of my parents. I like this video of Kyiv. You did a great job!
Thank you for uploading these videos. Great quality. I plan to visit Kiev, Ukraine sometime in the near future. It is great that American citizens don't need a visa. Just a passport. Russia still requires a visa.
I lie Kyiv very much also, and I've made that same walk 100's of times. FYI, those steps you mention thinking that they go to the subway are actually underground walkways to cross the busy streets in downtown Kyiv. Also down there are some very large , multi floor underground shopping "malls". The subway in Kyiv is called a "Metro", and they're entrances are marked with a capital M. On the weekends, Kreschatik street is closed to vehicles, and especially in the summer, continue
It's absolutely unbelievable!!! In the very beginning you show the building with the address "Basseynaya, 19" (Бассейная, 19). I was born there in 1947 in the 3-story building, which still exist, behind the one you see in the video (built in early 60's, I think) My father's very big family lived there since 1917 until my last living 2 aunts left the USSR in 1979. More...
Thanks for posting, Antonio! I am from Kiev originally, has lived in US for the last 20 years. It's great to see how Kiev has changed since I left! Where are you from, Antonio?
I am glad that you enjoyed it. I am from here from USA , but I go to Ukraine every 4 months. I really love the culture and architecture of your country.
Thank you and I am happy that you enjoyed the video. I love Kiev too and soon I'll be there again in Kiev and Lviv. Ukrainian women are very smart and beautiful, it's my modest opinion.
I love Kiev too, I am very impressed on how dynamic, sophisticated and progressive it is in downtown. I have not been to Budapest yet, but it is on my future plans.
My mother was born on the same street, Basseynaya 3, in 1917. Her parents and 3 older sisters, and a brother, lived there even before the October Revolution. Their story is very similar to my father's, except they were able to get only one room out of 4, when they returned home right after Kiev was liberated in 1943. More...
Kreschatik is closed to vehicles and becomes a large pedestrian "bazaar" with street vendors, musicians, concerts, and many other enjoyable outdoor festivities! Kyiv is great!
I agree with you. I am here in Kiev right now and no country in Western Europe has amazed me as much as Ukraine has. The architecture, historical places and pretty women are all over the place!
Right on, how do you like the people/women of Kiev/Ukraine compared to other countries of the region: balkans/Serbia/central/eastern Europe and nordic Europe. Fairly equal? Any favorite? (if you've visited all of them) I intend to visit in late August/early Sept., but only for 10 days, so I want to be amongst as much beauty as possible.
No, I thought it was British slang for BMW. we call them Bimmers here. Yes Kiev is very beautiful and has many parks and places of interest. I will be back in Odessa and kiev in 12 days to be precise.
I will be visiting in May, hopefully the weather will be nice and not too cold. I will just stay in Kyiv and maybe visit Chornobyl, depending on the situation... I would like to visit the churches, operas and the cathedrals. Female, traveling alone. How safe is it?
My recommendations to you is to stay on the city center around Kreschatik at night and during the day visit the monuments. Safety has to be observed by everybody, females or males equally. All cities have bad neighborhoods and please don't be carried away by the feeling that you are in a different country. Be careful and especially at night. I always walk at night around Kreschatik as there are many policemen and there's a lot of people, never walk on lonely places.
manzanaresantonio Thank you for the recommendations. I am planning to stay of course near the center along Kreschatik near maidan square, i believe? I will be with a trusted tour guide/friend during my entire trip. I appreciate your response. I also wanna eat at that famous puzata hata. :)
toxicwaste920 Oh nice, when are you going? I am planning to be there in May. Prices for the apartments and Hotels are dirty cheap now as the value of the Hryvnia and dollars has decreased. I want to recommend you to carry U.S. dollars with you as most ATM cards will not work in Ukraine as Western banks are afraid of your account being stolen and they will withdraw all your money, the bank is responsible for this, so they will always block your card. I always carry a good amount because of this.
Oh wow about the banks, I am of course going to plan to call them all to make sure they know I'll be traveling to Kiev. I have done it before with Philippines and the later is worst than Ukraine. I will be there in May 17-24, My flight will be on May 16. For the same reason as you, everything there is cheaper now because of what's going on. So far, the war ended.. or so we thought. But I've been assured Kiev should be OK.
toxicwaste920 I let them know 2 weeks before I leave an still my debit or credit card doesn't work. I have to be calling them in order for it to work. It's a pain in the butt. You don't want to be caught without money in a different country, it is horrible and scary.!
I told you)))))) LATIN FOOTBALL RULES. I am of Italian and Spanish descend, so I like both teams, but I am closer to my mother, so I am cheering for Spain!!!!
As you can see on my pronunciation of some of the places, It was my first walk through the streets of Kiev and I was very unfamiliar with names and pronunciation. My knowledge of the city was through me watching videos from kiev on youtube. By now I have completed my 4th trip to Ukraine and I hope to go back again in 4 to 5 months. I fell inlove with this amazing and enchanting country.
I have been to many places in Central/ Eastern Europe - Budapest, Tallinn, Minsk, Kiev among others - and Kiev is one of my favorites. Only complaints: weather is unpredictable and too many cars crowding everything.
This is not Train Station entrance, though it looks like one. If you stop the video at 03:20 you will read Biesarabki Center (Kbartal) which is a Mall. I went there with my wife Tetiana, I bought a french suburban car Renaul Kangoo Diesel, Manual tran for $24K year 2009, and I learned the few different road signs in Ukraine. Most signs are easier than in USA. Do not rent a car, because you will not have good insurance to pay it off, if it gets stolen.
I believe in freedom of speech and that's why I don't remove your comment, everybody has their own opinion of the world and I respect that. I will let the rest of the viewers judge your comments.
))) yes now I know it's not a train station entrance, but that was my first walk in the city of Kiev and I thought it was the entrance to the subway))) Now I know it's just a Mall. Probably I will have to do this video again on my next trip. I got more footage from Kiev coming soon.
First, the family owned it, than lived in one 5-room apartment in the 3rd floor, and then, after the war, could get only 3 rooms (my father took it by force when he returned from the war), because the other 2 were taken by some people, who stayed in Kiev during Nazi's occupation, while members of my family were either in the Army fighting, or evacuated. More...
Go to enhancements on the top of your you tube video and then it will ask you if you want to eliminate the vibrations from your hand, it makes a big difference. good luck.
Just returned from Ukraine last Thursday and I had another wonderful time with the most beautiful women on earth. My god these girls are so pretty, that is hard to imagine how a Ukrainian male can get married or be faithful with all the everyday temptations!!!!!
I have never been to Moscow, but for Westerners and Russians themselves told me is that besides Red square and the kremlin there's nothing else to see in Moscow, everybody recomended St. Petersburg. Kiev is full of monuments and gorgeous architecture!!!

H e has no idea on how beautiful this women are, not only that there are lots of women all over the place it's amazing. Are you Ukrainian??
Eh-rm... Partially agree! But the both of these rulerZ do totally depend upon "our" dutch-german financial aid, don't they? PS Can you predict the score?
I stay by Kreshchatik which is the main avenue and I always go to bars and clubs in the area, otherwise I would recomend you to take a cab if you will be leaving this area as Ukrainians told me to be careful as there are always scumbacks try to get something out of tourists. On Krechshatik there's always people walking around and there's also policemen walking on this area... The clubs are awsome and there are always beautiful girls, they implement the face control at the entrance.
Well, The girls are mostly very attractive, thin or in shape, they are very classy for the most part, they really know how to dress(where do they get the money from? no idea), they are very sensual and use their femenine attributes, the clubs play real dance music, not trashy rap or top 40's(radio station music).
To be honest with you, I have never dared to drive in Ukraine. Driving there is very aggressive and I don't want to have an accident. If you drive with an experienced local driver that can give you suggestion I would try, but otherwise it will be hard bacuse the signs are different and the driving style is different.
Your country is very beautiful and you should be proud of it. most ukrainians due to their economic hardship have a negative view of their own country, but Ukraine is the most beautiful place that i have visited. I will never erase this video unless youtube erases it!! watch for my new videos of Kiev and Odessa.
...Kiev is beautiful...
..everytime i visit Kiev i love it more..!!..
...enjoy puzata xata...
..nice video..!..gracias Antonio...

I hope too, for all the well being of my Ukrainian friends.
I love this video of Kiev streets, iv been waiting for someone to post something like this. My favorite place ever! And everyone is dressed so nice!
I would love to visit this place this place is pretty cool it something attract me I do have to visit this place.
Thank you very much for sharing this wonderful video. I was in Kiev long ago, in 1989 and it is a wonderful city. Its magic and friendly people make me strongly desire to go back someday. I felt as though I was there. Thank you again.

manzanaresantonio you're obviously very brave. Any trouble for westerners in Kyiv now? I miss Ukraine!
pnojazz No, everybody was peaceful. Putin is making the biggest bullshit about Ukrainians hating Russians, goodness everybody in Kiev speaks Russian.
+manzanaresantonio That isn't true. The young people are speaking more Ukrainian so the city is actually very bilingual.
This video is a very good idea. I want to go there, and it give me a very interesting point of view. Thank you very much.
Thanks, I added this video to my favorites. Please do not delete it, it remembers me my motherland. After watching this video I want to go there.
You're welcome. it really helps you in terms of orientation and where to go. I watched a lot videos from Kiev before my first visit and any time I visit a place I always watch videos, it really helps me before I travel.
I was walking here after school sometime. I know this place very well. This is my motherland. I remember almost every building.

5:56 sign is in Russian with Cyrillic alphabet? Well you are half right. The alphabet is Cyrillic, but the language is Ukrainian.
You're welcome, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I love the winter, right now Kiev is full of snow.
I am Canadian of Black Welsh and Ukrainian heritage and when I finish school, I want to visit the countries of my parents. I like this video of Kyiv. You did a great job!
Thanks for the video. I always wanted to know what's it like on a normal day on the street of Kiev.

Moscow is a wonderful city. Very big. I went there 8 years ago so i am sure it has grown even bigger today.
I agree with you. I am here in Kiev right now and no country in Western Europe has amazed me as much as Ukraine has. The architecture, historical places and pretty women are all over the place!
very cool. you do a good job keeping the camera steady. I am wondering, do you use some kind of image stabilizer?
Nice city....looks like Belgrade, Serbia !

Soon I will be posting my video from Odessa, I am here right now, visiting these Slavic Beauties.
nice city thanks for the ride iam from cali and i don't like the winter
hey which month was this when u were walking around?
You're welcome. Thanks for watching.
Business should be very good in Ukraine, it has a lot of potential.
Good luck to you with your new business.

Try Minsk, Belarus. Another one of my favorites right now =)
Just returned from Ukraine last Thursday and I had another wonderful time with the most beautiful women on earth. My god these girls are so pretty, that is hard to imagine how a Ukrainian male can get married or be faithful with all the everyday temptations!!!!!
Most of the time yes I walked alone, why??
Thank you for your advice. I usually stay with the city cnter limits, unless I am out with many Ukrainian friends.
What time of year was this?
What's wrong? can you translate for us, what he said??
do most people speak russian or ukrainian in kiev? or is it about the same
Thank you. I agree with you, that's the reason why I never visited Russia yet. But next year I am planning to go to Russia.
I have never been to Moscow, but for Westerners and Russians themselves told me is that besides Red square and the kremlin there's nothing else to see in Moscow, everybody recomended St. Petersburg. Kiev is full of monuments and gorgeous architecture!!!
You are right, Kiev looks a lot better than a lot of western European cities.
Many thanks!
Even other Eastern Europeans have told me that the closer you go to the east towards Russia the more attractive women are. These are mostly nordic people, but you will find brunettes in Ukraine too, with gorgeous green or blue eyes. without a doubt that I found people in the Czech Republic very attractive too!
Do you know Tigran Akopyan
I've been there 3 times and I never felt like I was in danger, as long as you stay away from the bad neighborhood just like in any big city!!!!!
There are a lot of policemen everywhere in the center of the city.
Is it american slang 4 BMW?
What distinctions do you find unique to the people of Kiev/Ukraine, say compared to the people of the U.S., in general? Not the language, but just characteristics of the people, physical attractiveness, health, character,....
Kreschatik is beautiful place with beautiful girls
No, actually my hand is very shaky from drinking Vodka, it's the image stabilizer from you tube that makes the video look steady)))
Thank you
I agree with you, it depends where you go just like any major cities. there are areas in Kiev that not even Ukrainians can go to !!
this is August weather? ?
April, still very cold.
They don't suppose to, but they do!!! you just have to be careful they don't run over you.....
Where are you from??
you walked alone around Kreschatik
Well I am born and raised in Kiev, Darnitsa.
@jewlzik I know kiev is such a beautiful city abnd I agree with you something that caught my eyes was how well people dresses. Somebody made the comment about ukrainian women been overrated??? H e has no idea on how beautiful this women are, not only that there are lots of women all over the place it's amazing. Are you Ukrainian??
@rrromanowsky by the way I am in Kiev right now, I am enjoying this gorgeous European city and all the beautiful women of course ))
Now that sounds like a deal!
The NL. (We play in Kharkiv, Group B u no and, of course, every dutchman hopes we'll get final in Kiev. So, I viewed it just out of my curiosity! :DD)
That ****in' jealous of u! Take care! :D
I take that as a compliment.
I am sorry to tell you ahead of time, but Spain and Italy will play in the Final match ;)
(Well, in fact the way u reacted on briton comment looked a bit strange 2 me!). But to the point: sidewalks as the parking places is simply bizzar!
Really, is it that dangerous and bad???
)) gracias.
klass!!!
Eh-rm... Partially agree! But the both of these rulerZ do totally depend upon "our" dutch-german financial aid, don't they? PS Can you predict the score?
well Moscow is big u can see old things ok i dont remember how its called but kiev isnt bad
No, I don't have an i-Phone, this a regular HD camera
I stay by Kreshchatik which is the main avenue and I always go to bars and clubs in the area, otherwise I would recomend you to take a cab if you will be leaving this area as Ukrainians told me to be careful as there are always scumbacks try to get something out of tourists. What do you mean BMW's ????
At the end of May.
To be honest with you, I have never dared to drive in Ukraine. Driving there is very aggressive and I don't want to have an accident.
