Give this man every award on the planet! Paddy portrayed Viserys so well that even George RR Martin acknowledged him & joked about rewriting the parts that involves King Viserys I Targaryen. Now that speaks volumes about how good he was in the role.
The make up was so good I felt sick watching him I started to search about the disease too. It was amazing , the hair loss the weight loss even his skin . Mind blowing. I’m currently rewatching it for the 3rd time before the new season comes . Viserys is favourite character .
@@Upsallauniversity123 omFg I just checked wikipedia and not only did he not win ANYTHING he didn't even get a fooking nomination... Mat Smith got one??!!!! whaaat the heck, what the the hecking heck. Not even a nomination. This is Angela Baset level of snub. Are there still awards to be given before the year ends? This can't be it.
Thank you so much for this video - I love behind-the-scenes stuff. I rewatched Season 1 just before Season 2 started and was still shocked and saddened by Viserys's physical decline at the end. Props to Paddy for such a phenomenal performance! Also to the makeup and prosthetics departments for their amazing work!
Was quite harrowing when you didn't see him for a while, then he's bald in bed with bandages all over. Reminded me of experiences in real life with elderly family members, where it's like suddenly one day they're not quite there anymore, and if they stay on the morphine for the rest of their life you don't see much of them again though they might linger for years.
I'm so much more impressed with this show now having seen the work behind the makeup. I thought they might have used AI bc everything was so amazingly done. So realistic. Just... Bravo!!!! 👌🏻 Perfection.
Paddy Considine was brilliant as vulnerable, sensitive and delicate King. Maybe Viserys was unworthy but he cared about his family despite his illness. And, of course, his illness portrayed by great artists represents King's mental turmoil
I wonder if they used "thin doubles" or something like that. He looks so skinny in those last episodes. His hand in that shot in episode 8 too, I can't imagine that being his nor cgi
I was eating cake while watching this hahahah but I think I didn't really feel grossed out because I was so used to Viserys and how grandfatherly he is in this scene, even if he isn't a perfect man.
Mmmm...I think he's a great actor and played a great character, too, but there were a lot of characters who didn't get recast. Daemon/Matt Smith, Rhaenys/Eve Best, Ser Criston/Fabien Frankel, etc.
@@LY43537 Lord Corly Velaryon, Lord Commender Westerling, Lord Lyonel Strong, Harwin Strong, Larys Strong, Lord Lyman Beesbury, Jason & Tyland Lannister. All these characters were not recast And the recasting was very necessary, it would've thrown many people off seeing Milly Alcock portraying a Rhaenyra who has given birth to 3 boys 2 of them already about to reach her age lol. It would've made no sense at all. The show did well on that & the casting was actually superb especially if one watched the show without hate or looking for loopholes.

@@HisameArtwork the timing wasn't good for hotd. All his performance got overshadowed by succession's actor
Paddy definetly read the books with the "Throne rejects you" line.

Great Tv character
Ah yes, I forgot this was about season 1. BRB need to turn the screen brightness up
Is Visery the singular form of Vizzy T?
best character because he's the only one that didnt get recast...
