Hi Yvette, I know you didn't mention them but "Ant and Dec" grossly overrated. Don;t get me started on Keith Lemon. Any way I am glad that the cancer fund is going up in value as we get the word out.😊🧑🔧

Ant and Dec are the most overrated "thing" on TV, they've done nothing new for 20 years and when they did, it was rubbish, why did they get another BAFTA?

Black Cabs in London and other cities, I love them, I'd rather pay more for a ride in a safe, insured vehicle that has an annual test far tougher than an MOT and with a driver who knows where they are going without having to use a Sat Nav.
I also love 1920's houses, my Grandmother bought an off plan new house in 1921 with some of the proceeds of the sale of her late husbands businesses and the family home, it was a large 4 bed with lovely Oak panelling in the Arts and Craft style with a nod to the emerging Art Deco style. Not seen the interior since she passed in 1965 but judging by what has been done to the exterior I can only imagine that it is now ultra modern inside with no character whatsoever. It cost £250 then plus £50 after taking possession to build the road to council standards so it could become an adopted road. Road building charges are now included in new house prices by the developer. Current value at last listing 3 years ago, offers in the region of £1.75 million.

Wetherspoons quality is dictated by the area they are in. There are some beautiful Spoons and some rough ones. The salads and fish are always fresh and food is affordable for every day. Many pubs price their food as if you are eating there for a special occasion and charge ridiculous prices plus service charge.
Other reasonable pub / restaurant chains are Slug & Lettuce, Bills and Chef and Brewer who all do lower priced lunch and weekday menus.
S & L do cheap two for one cocktails and several sharer meals, making it very popular with ladies after work.
Black cab drivers have to know and pass the knowledge test, they aren’t like Uber drivers or normal taxi drivers. 😃
Black Cabbies deserve the upmost respect there the backbone of the nation like the truckers
l thought the small windows on new houses, was due to large windows have poorer insulation, so unable to meet gov Energy efficiency rating easily/cheaply

Beer is meant to be warm/room temperature; lager is cold. Wetherspoons and Greggs are so popular because they are affordable and offer good enough quality for your average Brit. Much like Nando's does. If you're drinking cocktails in Canary Wharf and shopping in Waitrose, it's easy to question what the fuss is about, but that's punching down on life for most Brits.
Beer should be cellar temperature, 12-14 C - although I do often say "warm, like God intended" to annoy denizens of less civilised cultures (USA, Oz, Germany et al).
I live in Florida we need ac. Here it gets very hot here. I hope you and your husband are doing well. In the UK your weather may be nice over there.

Personally I think Wagamamas is overrated. Guess it depends on whether you like the food.
Given that you're vegetarian, I can see why you wouldn't rate Nandos.
Also...you didn't go to the worst spoons! You went to Tooting Bec/Balham...the one in Tooting Broadway is much worse.
That thread and every thread like it... just full of misers. In fact, moaning about things being overrated is probably what my contribution to that thread would've been.
Weatherspoons is ok if you purely want to get drunk. Almost any other pub is better for socialising.
Britain is the most welcoming country, lots of great things to experience.

Wetherspoons is a con, small chain pubs like Joules are wonderful. I don't like stogie, food like Roasts, Black Cabs tend to be expensive due to the 'The Knowledge'. A very good review. Best Wishes.
Summer is often a touch too hot for me. If it gets above 20 degrees then its too hot.
When I was in Seville some years ago the temp. reached 45 c. Now that’s what I call too hot for me - lol.
I still think in Fahrenheit .I'm an old fogie, and anyway, it saves me having to translate when I'm describing our weather to my sister who lives in the US.
When it's even close to 20 degrees i can feel the wrinkles forming on my face.

Nandos is overrated, but it annoys me because, it's just chicken, it's a solid option for food. I love a Nando's but people get overhyped for what is effectively spicy chicken or vegan options. It's reputation precedes and ruins it for newbies because they expect too much.
Can't stand Dominos at all!! Pizzas taste like cardboard and are just rank!

Unless they’re built to a very high, meaning expensive, specification most new houses in the U.K. are far too small and quite frankly, crap. Places like Wetherspoons and Nando’s cater for a certain class clientele more interested in price than quality so only overrated by their adherents .

Sainsbury's: great store-baked cookies, terrible meat. Waitrose has the best meat I'd say.
