Rhinoceros Hornbill Maliau Basin

The Rhinoceros Hornbill is possibly the world's most spectacular hornbill due to its large orange casque extension, the function of which may be purely for display (sexual selection) or it may perform a secondary function in amplifying the call across a pair's breeding territory. This male, filmed from the Canopy Walkway 'Sky Bridge' at Maliau can be heard calling towards the end of the video - the call sounds vaguely reminiscent of a Greylag Goose!
