I was a high school teacher in Atlanta for 8 years. This is a very apt way of putting it. Many ideas that I would describe were simply outside of the realm of their understanding, despite the fact that many of the kids had a sort of cleverness that I didn't at their age. Environment plays a huge role in behavior. It's funny that you mention the word "imagine." I would often let the kids free write with a basic prompt for an easy grade as long as they used complete sentences and displayed some writing skill like dialog or imagery. Many of the kids simply didn't have the mental capacity to imagine a fictional world outside their own experience. That always blew my mind since when I was a kid I had invented whole worlds and storylines for my toys/legos.

As a victim of it from July, still waiting on the class-action lawsuit money from the settlement with KIA. They were taken to court for several months at the end of last year and finalized the terms around February, and there were forced software updates and reconstructions for all the compromised models and makes. I would say there is a 3rd party involved, the schools/education system. Is there an alternative to normal high school in the US ? (I mean in the "free" system, not some private stuff) Cause I feel like a lot of people just don't fit into the "normal" school cycle, and if earlier , they had support from caring teachers, and were proposed alternatives, like maybe a more professional school, with a salary from the age of 16 (we even have it from 14 here iirc) they wouldnt be going to just quit and start to grow in this mentality of "fuck the world" asmon is talking about. Like from what i'm seeing from the US (and its a problem evrywhere in the world I think) is that you're kinda forced to just graduate high school, and if you can't, and feel rejected by your teachers you have a high probabily to turn to crime.

Naturally we pulled over and ran to her and this car was crushed. the window was open just enough to see that the woman and her kids were crushed, looked like they had been ran partly through a juicer. Fortunately our insurance company paid for most of it. Only a 50 dollar deductible, but they did over 10000 dollars worth of damage - how it wasn’t totaled I still have no clue.

So something interesting about PTSD and trauma. I recently had an accident. I had to swerve to avoid a head on collision with someone, and ended up hitting someone else.
Everyone was fine, nobody was hurt. I saved my own ass by swerving (despite the insurance company blaming me because the driver that caused the accident fled the scene)..but at the same time. It's SO hard to drive now. I'm nervous constantly. I'm overly cautious because I remember that moment when a car shot out in-front of me and I couldn't do anything about it.
Now, I still drive, and I won't call it trauma per-say. But it still has lingering effects. I cannot even imagine if your property was outright stolen (like a car!).

Naturally we pulled over and ran to her and this car was crushed. the window was open just enough to see that the woman and her kids were crushed, looked like they had been ran partly through a juicer. It wasn't like the movies. I'll never forget that as long as I live. I am out of therapy now and finally getting back on the road at 33. I am terrified of causing that accident or being in it, it's hard to not freak out while driving, but I'm trying. I still see her smiling at me.

Dang. I live right on one of the streets they showed in CT (can see it out the window). At least once or three times a week I hear cars ripping through the neighborhood I wonder what the hell is going on?. Its got to be the Kia Boyz. Crazy.
Dudes stealing cars talking about buying hoodies with the money. LMAO these kids are so cringe. "we come from the trenches" haha wow. too much Lil Baby

It seems a bit roundabout to me, why not just steal the hoodie?
@@memitim171😂 right? If all you want is $50 for a hoodie, most malls won’t even chase you
@@scarletsletter4466 Exactly, it must be a petty criminal thing, you can steal whatever you want but if you don't pay for your own clothes you're a scrub... 🤣
They act hard when they probably couldn’t even steal a 1994 dodge neon

probably because it wouldn`t start thou 😉
You need a tow truck to steal one of those. You need a tow truck to move them in general.
If the parents are powerless, the courts should declare the minors to be emancipated by court order and treat them as adults. prosecute them, and stop protecting them from consequences.
Thankyou to the general media, I remember the good ol days before TikTok when you just left the car unlocked and no one would even consider taking it
What?! Rofl people couldn’t leave their cars unlocked long before tik tak! Some areas you can, but it was not the tik taks fault. Not everything is BTT & ATT.
I had friends in the 90’s that did the same thing breaking into cars. They didn’t think about getting caught and just liked the money they got from selling the stuff. It lasted a couple of years until they were busted and got hit hard.
Always does few stick there hands in the cookie jar and walk away.
I was still paying off my Hyundai and when I went to renew my car insurance this year they wanted $5k ($5000) for 6 months because of how easy they are to steal. I ended up having to remove the insurance that protects me from theft. If my car gets stolen, I'm fucked.
I've had progressive for like 20 years and they keep raising my rates even though our relationship is one sided, I give them money every month and they don't do anything. I called to bitch and the woman I talked to (really nice) told me that they weren't going to insure Kia's anymore and basically to partially thank Kia for building a car you can steal with no equipment. lol. I hope your car doesn't get stolen btw. Personally I'd install a hidden kill switch you have to use every time you want to start your car.
Honestly you should just get a different car
"How did I not know about this?"
...When car manufacturers, the governments and investment groups want to keep an obvious exploit under wraps.
Speaking a a Hyundai technician, this has been a problem for a while. Hyundai/KIA has been doing recalls trying to counter act this for years, doing BCM updates and even giving customers free steering wheel locks. They still find a way though, these kia boys are persistent for sure.
My elantra was broken into at night in February, they couldn't steal it tho because it's a stickshift. The guy(s) never got caught and I had to pay upwards of 500 to repair the window and steering column. They went through the whole neighborhood a bunch of others got stolen the same night. My neighborhood is middle class pretty far from the nearest ghetto, so it was quite alarming.

I looked into this as a 18 year mechanic. No key Antenna or key chip OR even a Alarm from Factory, its like stealing Hondas jabbings flatheads into ignitions. Very surprised Kia/Hyundia slipped on the most important part of a car LOL including their trashcan engines.
yes because kia is a shit brand that cut corners. No one else has this problem. Never buy a kia

Also that insurance argument doesn't really work. Some people may have personal insurance, but the vast majority of lower middle class people have just the mandated accident insurance. Which only covers the medical/mechanical bill of the OTHER person in an accident.
I thought it covered all damage not caused by the licensed owner, such as if someone steals it and crashes it, or if the car's electrical system shorts out and it bursts into flames and damages a nearby car, etc.
@@theredscourgethat is full coverage not liability it doesn’t cover theft unless you add it to your policy which at that point just go full coverage.
My wife's car insurance company would not cover her Kia if it was key start because of how often they get stolen, thankfully, its push to start. Surprised us when they asked.
Nice!!! When I have her over I use the pullout couch.
Behind most push to starts is a keyhole... if you look at your key fob it probably has a physical key that slides out the back when you pull a switch.

my moms kia was stolen, they threw away my sons car seat and drove drunk and crashed the car, it took us 6 months to get everything settled and we still had to pay the car off so the settlement from it went straight to the car, this kills me because no one thinks about the person they are stealing from, my mom just got that car.
They don’t care about anybody. Not even themselves or their own families….its terrible.
I live in the New Haven area and actually got my car (Hyundai Elantra)stolen, it was recovered the next day but deemed a total loss so now I’m car less.

It never ceases to amaze me seeing people commit crime and not seeing it destroy their lives. They understand how they will be restricted from society because of it, but somehow don't see the benefits of changing their ways. If you say they just don't care, I say they just can't really see it - I don't know why though and it bothers me. Their youth plays a part but that's not all of it.

The kids do this in my country, but they use the car to crash into a shop. They rob the shop and leave the car there. Seems like it could be a lot more lucrative than selling the car for $100.
Lol my man don't give them ideas 😂

But a lot more likely to have the police investigate the crime if someone gets killed when they crash the car into the shop.
We had an epidemic of this in the UK not long after Ford released the Sierra Cosworth, they would drive the car away though because it was so much faster than a police car. Almost every Cosworth in the country has been in the front of a shop at one point or another...
