    Just wanted to say thank you for doing these videos. You've been really clear with your description and you've helped me so much already. Beautiful voice and songs too!

    This video was SO incredibly helpful and as s vocalist, I am SO looking forward to doing the live vocal looping in Ableton , but that SONG though! 😳 when the soaring harmonies came in… you took me OUT with that! 🙌🏽 SO good! Im a fan! 💯 Amazing!

    That was awesome! You have a great voice, made me excited to hear the set all the way through. Tutorials very clear I like how you mentioned the possible hazards in the set that could go wrong and getting backup tracks as needed

    Excellent video and great musician skills! You have definitely shown that it is still possible to produce emotional and meaningful music using computer tools. 👏👏👏

    What a cool overview - I really liked what you covered here. I'm looking to get into Ableton Live & maybe get a Push 2. I would be curious if you are still using the Push 2 since this was from a year ago.

      I am yes! I’ve had no reason to get the Push 3 yet :)

    Great tutorial and a great song. I loved it, thanks for sharing. Would love to see pt. 3!! I do have a question though, how did you trigger the harmony when it first comes in?

    • @AlannaMatty
      @AlannaMatty  2 роки тому

      I recorded the melody to the looper plugin the first time I sang it, then on the second time I hit the blue plus to add another layer and sang the harmony on top of it :)
      So glad you enjoyed the video!

    I've been looking for someone who can actually walk through a proper singer songwriter session as a live performance. Beautiful song to exhibit this way, and incredibly informative. Thank you!

    Hey I love your videos they are seriously so helpful and make it so easy how to visualize my own set up. Do you have a video on setting up Ableton cue to a separate output so it can't be heard by the audience?

    • @AlannaMatty
      @AlannaMatty  2 роки тому +1

      Not yet! Generally this depends on your interface; if it has multiple outputs you can choose which go to the audience and which go to you but if it doesn’t there are some virtual tools (loop back on mac and asiolinkpro on PC) that can create virtual outputs for you! Definitely something I’ll look at covering in the future though

    I know you can use a looper to record with follow actions, but can a follow action trigger session record? So they record the actual midi notes not just the audio in the looper?? Please

    How did you make your loop stop automatically after a certain time when you were making the loop of your acoustic guitar?
    Please help if anyone knows.

    If you’re going through an interface what is your setup for live performances if you’re going into a soundboard? My guitar has audio up until you plug the interface into a soundboard and then there’s no audio.

    • @AlannaMatty
      @AlannaMatty  7 місяців тому

      I go from my focusrite through the main 1/2 out into the soundboard
      If you’re not getting signal I’d check that your output is set to the right outs on the interface but also that your output is turned all the way up on the interface itself. I’ve made that mistake more that once lol

    Learned a lot, thanks so much. I can see how I can set up some 'emergency' scenes and also move in and out of them easily. Was so cool seeing you perform with the setup, lovely song. I feel so calm after listening to you...

    Another great vid, your workflow is so similar to mine (except vocal looping). Took me ages to figure this out myself. I wish I saw this video 2 years ago. Your teaching method is so clear & accurate. and to to point. Thank you

    awesome songs! how do you set Live so that you don't need to press stop to stop recording the loop? when you recorded your guitar you only pressed the record button to start and then it just knew it had to stop at some point. how?

    • @AlannaMatty
      @AlannaMatty  2 місяці тому

      It’s a setting that’s (unfortunately) exclusive to the push, you can set the number of bars to record before it loops

    Your content is amazing Alanna, and very much appreciated. I hit so many roadblocks in ableton, trying to create pieces that aren’t all EDM (which seems like the majority of ableton users are making lol). And your videos have solved a bunch of my biggest problems, so thank you for that!!
