I remember when this weapon was released, it didn’t have angle of attack like the bayonet did. You could’ve just stayed in 3rd person with shiftlock on and continuously left click to attack zombies. Though to hit heads, you must jump and attack at the right time. It was really hard to hit heads by jump attacking. Sometimes I miss when the Pike was at a static angle.

People saying that officee charge would make your hit insta kill is wrong. The reason is because if you try endless round 100+ with officer charge, the zombie wouldn't instantly dead
The Pike pairs well with the Sabre, Pike does not possess a side-swing, making it weaker at controlling crowds, but better at killing Zombies that are chasing the player in a line. This allows the Pike to work well with the Sabre, as the player can use them interchangeably to both safely dispatch crowds, and take out zombies that may be a higher threat to the player.
It's actually really good for crowd control if you know how to flick fast and there's this ability thing that the pike acquired called the hit regeneration wherein if you kill 1 shamblers you'll gain 2 more hits so it's pretty great
Tested this a while ago on Test zone, this simply isn't true. The Pike has the best wave clearing potential in the game, even without the flicking technique it's combination of Pen Regen, Range, Damage, and Attack Speed far outclasses every weapon in the game, it's only downside is the slow movement speed, which is okay since it's marginally still faster than Shamblers.
I prefer long range mele combat to close range mele combat, so the pike is a really good option as a main weapon for me, with grenades and a sabre or a heavy sabre i can still stay relatively in at least the middle range mele combat if i cant afford to pick the pike
Please, for the love of Napoleon, do NOT poke bombers with the Pike if your allies are right next to it. We can tell clearly that you're compensating for something.
1:29 this is wrong, when you kill one same with a thrust you actually gain 2 more hits in the same thrust, but it caps at that, 5 zombies hit IF you kill one
@@okaydoold wiki is wrong, ElectronicPerson (one of the devs) had to tell me that the stats listed is wrong 1 kill increases penetration by 1 also if the multiplier for charge was 5, the bayonet & pike would still one-shot shamblers by Round 84 but after testing, it doesn’t
Please, as a g&b expirienced player, could u tell people not to use the fife? All normal servers have at least one, and most of the time not even 4 people are reloading. Its a waste of manpower and could make a helpful change if you could spread this message
@@realhaterofbacon Fife is decent but it does deserve a small buff, either making the reload and hammer swing speed be 25% instead of 20%, or add another buff to it (yes that sounds insane ik)
Thought it could be buffed in 2 opposite ways, make it a all or nothing and have higher reload speed the more players that are affectted, and make you fight when less than 5 people are reloading; or make it better ar its worse, guiving a higher buff when less players are active, being thhe same when 6 people are affected, this would guive you an incentive to keep playing when less people are affected. It depends on what the developers want to go for, either a secondary buff tool or a primary weapon at all times. Also, a nice thing would be to have the metronome thingi be more difficult the more time u get perfect score, so it isnt so easy to do

Things to note as a mobile player: .... This weapon sucks on mobile... Like.... Really sucks on mobile....BUT it does have a use behind barricades and safe choke points. This can take a lot of time to master on mobile and the less hit box time doesn't make it too reliable when using the flicking method. If u want to use the pike i recommend the secondary be the saber or heavy saber. Sabre for side swings or heavy for flicking thrusts and more range allowing for safe distance. I more recommend the heavy sabre but the normal one works pretty much just as well. BE VERY CAREFUL WITH LURING BOMBERS! IF YK YK!!!
@@shimuza1154 As right u are fellow mobile player this is easier with the sabres because of their high end lag making the hitbox last longer than the pike. This is what makes pike harder to use on mobile same with the bayonet at times
@@skull_lee Yeah mobile just aint the same bro especially if u have to factor in ping or lag, than its too much for any to handle. With all those set aside i think it can be decent but mobile movement is a lot harder to get used to. Due to its larger skill ceiling compared to other weapons its not really fun to use for that reason. Trust me its way harder to master pike on mobile. But anyone can give it a shot if they please it just isnt recommended for mobile users.
What makes pike sucks is that its aiming system is like a gun. Unlike any other melee in the game, using shift-lock changes the pike's direction, which give you no better choice other than using first person. This may seems normal for PC players, but on mobile, it is very hard to estimate the distance between zombies and yourself, plus controlling thee screen and still be able to execute moves is basicly impossible. In short, pike is unusable on mobile and to some PC players due to the direction change no matter the view ur using.

I agree, pike is hard to use in mobile. The attack button can be very finicky on mobile especially when using the pike.
