Hi. I’ve been learning guitar coming up to two years now, self taught and have enjoyed your lessons. Thanks for the Sonics and Cure. I just became proficient enough to learn these and I appreciate all the material you’ve put on your channel. This lesson looks like the latest one, looking forward to the next one. Take care and thank you.
hey allison, just wanted to say that i am unbelievably grateful for all of your lessons, smiths ones especially, they are better than any others ive seen. just wondering where youve been and wishing you the best. hope everythings alright!
Thank you so much. I am 63 years old and have only been playing for under 2 months. I have looked at all the other tutorials on the intro rift and been unable to follow them but I can now play this after watching your tutorial. I am now retired and I am trying to keep my mind active by trying something new. I have however got a long way to go and my fingers hurt LOL.
Hello Allison, this is the best David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust guitar tutorial i found on YT! Just discovered your channel, nearly 4 years after you released this video, hope you are fine. Thanks a lot, Alex (from France)
I have to admit..... I played this video because of your physical beauty. I was just smacked in the face though of your great teaching ability. I only know a couple Bob Dylan songs but I'm going to try and learn this classic.
This is great, thanks. I went to high school while Bowie was still on the radio a lot and radio was still important. One of the guys in our social group was nicknamed Wiggy, and yes, he played guitar. So whenever this song came on we'd all scream at the end, 'Wiggy played guitaaaaaaaaaaar!'
I came across your channel through somehow coming across your "How Soon is Now?" lesson.. You're easy to follow and get right to the points that I want to know. Thanks for these!!
Just followed the Guitar Doctor's advice to check out your guitar tutorial videos, and I've instantly found some I like. Nice clear easy to follow tutorials, thanks for sharing.
Excellent lesson thank you. To me, the 'open D' to 'open E' at the end contains one of those guitar magic sequences as the final E is a lower pitch than the preceding D, but because linearly the E is fractionally higher than the D, your ear hears the obvious decrease in pitch yet your mind hears it as if it was climbing up in that linear way. The barre chord way doesn't allow this trick and doesn't nearly as interesting as the pitch of the E is indeed higher than the D. I've had those kinda thoughts in my mind for years but you've helped the fog clear and crystalized this realisation for me. Thank you.
Thanks so much. I'm still a beginner and never thought that I could play something that sounds a little bit like this piece of history. You are brilliant :-)
AWESOME! KEEP ON ROCKING these guitar lessons Ms.(Mrs.) Allison! 🤘🏾😎🎸 PS: PLEASE see IF you can do a lesson on Peter Murphy's classic hit song "Cuts You Up" on your YT channel soon!
I WATCH A BUNCH OF GUY'S FOR THIS SONG AND THEY WHERE FINE . BUT WHEN I CAME ACROSS YOU I THOUGHT " WOW " I WISH I SEEN YOU FIRST. SIMPLE STRAIGHT FORWARD NO UNNECESSARY RAMBLING QUICK AND TO THE POINT WELL EXECUTED LITTLE VID "BANG " DONE. THANKS ALLISON ; )
Just discovered your channel, really loved the How Soon is Now tutorial. FYI it is an A minor after the E minor in the verse. Thanks for all the videos!
Ojala no dejes de hacer este trabajo, yo entre por Wholl be next in line y la verdad es que todos los demas videos son igual de utiles. Exito & keep rocking girl
It's interesting, watching Mick play it. It surprised me to see that he doesn't play it like that. He always plays D by just barring 7th fret. Doesn't even play the root. Been watching it for 25 years, only realised recently. He also plays the Bm higher up.
I'm a 54 year old struggling player. She is easily one of the best, if not the best, teacher. She takes her time, explains things clearly. Love her to death. Not sure why she stopped posting videos but I support her whatever her reasoning is. We miss you Allison! @FooFighters; @Smiths
i miss guitar friend who knew all the best songs, pls come back
