    good variation, but the last movement is risky in undergoing de ashi barai by uke

      There is no such thing as risk free judo.

    Do you have the combinations from the dan grade skills examination form?

    Would you be upset if I started a UA-cam channel called inefficient judo or it's just me failing to doing all this stuff that I learned online cuz I'm a UA-cam Ninja

    I have NEVER seen this in any competition (lapel business). Can you link a competition video where anyone at all uses this, like, ever?

    Hi sensei ...
    Can harai goshi works well against a very taller opponent in o-goshi grip?

    • @EfficientJudo
      @EfficientJudo  6 років тому +1

      Yes - using the O-goshi grip for Harai-goshi is a good way for beginners to start, as it is easier for tori to control uke and find their balance using the grip around the back. Regarding its use against a taller opponents, Harai-goshi can work well, as long as you are able to get the lift with the hips, the modified grip may help this to some extent. If you struggle to get any sort of lift, you may need to use a non-lifting throw (e.g. Tai-otoshi) to throw uke.

      Sensei ...
      I asked this because i do mma and i love the hip throw but i find the classic o goshi to difficult against much heavier opponent ...
      Harai goshi is quick, smart and doesn't require a lot of strenght
      But a i listened that in judo this is a tall people technique...
      In a no gi situation the things changes because the harai goshi is often used from o goshi grip and often the short people use harai against tall people.....
      So is the grip the difference?
      Thank you very much for all

      Harai-goshi is a good throw for tall people in Judo, because they can more easily use a high collar grip to attack the throw from there - that doesn't mean it isn't a good throw for the shorter person. Just make sure to set up your opponent for the technique, you need them moving on to you.
