I feel like my college algebra teacher was a reincarnate of Bill’s. Mr. Merser constructed the most complicated looking equations, with the simplicity of a kindergarten instruction making everything seem so fun and easy as 1-2-3… then he told us to do it and our brains melted! I think Bill will be more forgiving of my results than Mr. Merser was.

If mr. Alexander makes you feel better then by all means
Treasure his gift to you! But, poor artists like, let's say, Viktor Yushkevich, may never sooth your soul like Bill does, but DAMN, HIS PAINTINGS WILL KNOCK YOU TO YOUR KNEES!!!
Hopefully you are able to see the difference. I'm not a hater. I just want to give ARTISTS the praise they deserve for their hard work and sacrifice, even if they dont put their ideological, ethos on front street.
Btw, for the highlites to be the way they are presented in this painting, the light would have to be coming from all directions at the same time.
      Just sayin.

The best thing about Bill is the variety of his work. He was so varied in his subjects and the moods they evoked.

Where are all these “new” videos coming from?! Know what, it doesn’t matter. I LOVE his passion and his paintings!! The original! The MASTER!

The Magic of Oil Painting had 9 seasons with 13 or so episodes each. Then there was some stuff after that.

Namely: Bill’s second series “the art of William Alexander” which began around 1986? and lasted into 1993
Eventually that series would be titled as “and Lowell Speers/Robert Warren/Sharon Perkins/Buck Paulson”
I remember there being a show called “Friends of Alexander” - all Bill’s protégés in a 13 part series [1994?]
Then Bill did one final series “Bill Alexander is Back” around 1996

Thnx, I will try to paint this tomorrow, but I will change the light source completely to right side and maybe change the sky color too , cuz that’s how bill would have wanted it , he never want us to copy his work but rather get inspired by it

      Mike Ivy,
"Wet on wet",(alla prima), has been used for the last 5
      Centuries, maybe
more. Its amazing how Mr. Alexander,
and Bob Ross, have at least one entire generation of non
artists thinking they are, not just Masters,
but innovators of some of the oldest, techniques that exist in the world of serious art.
Please, won't someone go to a local school of art, or even just a little art shop on line, and ask about calling these 2 men ahem, masters!!!
Just look at some of the work other artists have done with whatever device you are using. There are landscapes that will take your breath away!!! Please, give them the same chance you have given Bob and Bill.
      You will be VERY
      PLEASANTLY SURPRISED!!!

These camera angles their jumping between make it look like 3 different paintings

      Dog gone it Zachary!
They were only asking $100 for this painting! Now that you made this comment they're asking $300!!! You're right about the angles. Light is coming from all directions. It makes it look like a Japanese
      battle flag. BANZAI!!!
