- G’DAY OWFsquad and welcome to my 27th flight in 2020! On 25th September, I flew Virgin Australia from Adelaide to Sydney. It’s my first time flying Virgin Australia since they have entered voluntary administration. Flying has also since changed a lot thanks to the pandemic. In this video, you will see how. Hope you enjoy, feel free to ask me anything about my flight experience in the comment section.

I can hardly believe American Airlines first class was better than Virgin Australia. At least we got food, not snacks served to us, even if it was cold food. Glad you’re back flying again Jayden!❤️👍✈️
😝 hopefully it'll be the other way around soon haha. thanks Diane!!
Hey Jayden yay you're back flying again Virgin Australia airline keep up the good work bro have a safe weekend🌍🌎🛫🛬💯👍🤗🎥✊👊💖🙏😉
cheers Ricky :))
Good to see Virgin Australia clinging on - hope they survive this business. Feels like there is some hope but a very long way to go. Yay! Kewl new haircut sends bedhead mainstream
I cut my own hair the day before this flight😝
thanks Derek!
Great video, Jayden. Glad to see Virgin Australia flying again. Too bad the inflight service has been pulled back quite a bit. Hopefully, it will be back to its former glory before too long. Also, it's nice to see travel in Australia open up some more. I hope we will be able to do more international travel soon. Stay safe!
I’m sure it won’t take long! They’re just finalising is the deal with their new owner and will slowly bring the good things back :)
Australia-NZ travel bubble is slowly taking shape! People from NZ’s South Island can soon travel to New South Wales (Sydney) and Northern Territory (Darwin) but need to isolate when they go home Lol. A one way bubble
Virgin Australia Boeing 737-800 Economy Class: VA1141 from Sydney (SYD) to Ballina (BNK): ua-cam.com/video/rO1YwZelJYY/v-deo.html
YESSSSSSS!!! SO GOOD THAT SOUTH AUSSIES CAN NOW GO TO SYDNEY!! Love it mate!
some cases today and yesterday, hopefully that's it!
One World Flyer hopefully🤞🤞
Great trip report with VA! It's nice to see you flying again
Thanks a lot! :D
What a gorgeous approach into Sydney, I almost went this year. Good thing Virgin Australia survived (even as a smaller carrier). Hope with some time, they begin to grow again.
thanks for watching Genki! My first time to Australia was into Sydney, absolutely amazing beginning of a new chapter in my life for me!
Oh man 😅 that’s an expensive business class ticket.
But good to see you in the air again.
I cancelled my Swiss flights for October and rebooked them to non stop Lufthansa flights.
Not really happy about it because now I have 2 videos less but at least now a can avoid self isolation in the UK. (Transit in ZRH leads to 14 days self isolation in the UK)
lufthansa again hahaha😂 interesting, is there a reason why travellers from Switzerland will need to isolate when travelling from Germany don't?
One World Flyer
Yes, about 70 countries worldwide count as so called “travel corridors” which means you don’t have to self isolate if you spent the last 14 days in a “safe country” (Germany, Italy, Sweden,...)
Switzerland, France, the Netherlands, Spain,... aren’t in this list which means I can’t even book AF, KL, IB, LX flights to visit my family in Germany for now...I hope they change this rule soon so at least transit could be allowed.
Every video : "I'm upload a video every Thursday 12 p.m. Hong Kong Time"
(But today you upload a video at 09.20 a.m.) lol😂
Yeah, I'm still hope VA service is coming back just like QF. Great video and I think VA does so much cost cutting like the QF flights you took around 1.5 months ago. VA business class only get that muesli bar, so what do we get on their economy class?? The same thing or nothing?!
haha I made a silly mistake when publishing😂
Same thing in economy minus the wine. They'll bring back normal catering when the takeover by the US firm Bain Captain is fully sorted out!
Nice video.
That’s was me at 2.24 doing up my jacket.
The weather was horrific that day....
yup! I remember waking up at 6am and getting ready in the bathroom was painful. But it must've been tougher for you outside! Thank you for your service!!
Good to see you renew your relationship with Virgin Australia , but business class not quite the same with that level of catering. I hope you enjoy the long weekend Jayden, and I look forward to your next flight.
thanks Pierre! It was nice waking up on Monday morning and not going to uni😝 I cannot wait for Virgin to open up their lounges!!
Thanks for the tip, I just looked closer at my itinerary I am only getting a refreshment in business class for QANTAS and a full meal for Virgin on return. The prices are similar to what you quoted (Q $850 Vs V$650). Cheers Tim
hmmm should be the other way round - full meal on Qantas, refreshment on Virgin. What you said could be what they advertise but in reality, it's the other way round haha. thanks Tim!
I was relieved and glad to see that Virgin Australia haven't give up considering how tough the current conditions are. Nice video as always, Jayden!
same here, thanks Boria :D
Poor guy... the sparkling water was unloaded so you were forced to drink a good chardonnay instead :D I'd go for the white wine no matter what! haha
😂 thanks mate!
HEHEHEH 8 seconds before uploaded! btw I reached 1.5K subscribers!
Nice work mate, flying to SA on Thursday hopefully the Monarto safari is open in SA, have you heard much about it. Cheers Tim
I've been to Monarto with school before, it was heaps cool! Yep they're open, I think it's best to book your tickets online ASAP because of high demand and capacity restrictions inside. Thanks Tim!
12:36 Great scenery on approach. :)
Disappointing there's no meals in VA business class. Hopefully that will change soon (particularly given they're still charging a lot for business class).
A bit confusing about those arrival announcements. I would have been a bit worried / annoyed when they (incorrectly) said you were going to the international terminal for screening! But in the end it all worked out. Keep up the good work!
Yep I was glad nothing happened at Sydney Airport haha! But yeah sadly no food and lounge yet, and we still haven't been given a date yet. Hopefully soon! Thanks Adam!
Thanks Jayden, it's good to see a Virgin domestic flight. Row 2, a great place to watch those engines hum. 😄
A pity such a small snack in business class, but at least you were offered seconds !
You're welcome Heather! Yep I love the engine view from the front, especially on a 777 and 4-engine ones🤪, but for now 737 will do. thank you!
I think the approach into sydney is one of the best. Was so looking forward to visiting Sydney and other cities in november now postponed until either november 2021 or february 2022 depending how things go with the virus
indeed, the waters surrounding Sydney are so clean and nice. Thanks for watching!!
Great to see another great video Jayden!
cheers Neil!
Another cool upload 👌 you and your coat hooks 🙌 lol ☺
Thanks mate 😆
Hope they come back in full form very soon!😁
I hope so too!!!
Thank you for the trip report again! It is good to see that Virgin Australia has weathered the storm amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The portion of the food and beverage offered on board was a bit small. Is it normal? Enjoy your weekend and I am looking forward to your trip report next week. By the way, here in Hong Kong, we have a long weekend this week because of the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays.
nope, totally not normal! Normal for economy sometimes but minus the wine. Business is usually a full hot meal. I think they lost their contract with the catering earlier this year that's why everything I received onboard was disposable. No proper chinaware and glassware, and hot food. We have a long weekend too because Monday is Labour day😝 中秋節快樂!! 😆
I have a adl-bne flight coming up and have enough points to upgrade it. It would usually be a good deal since we have a 30% discount going on. However the lack of lounge and in flight meals are deal breakers for me and I'll probably keep my points
I would not upgrade too if I was you. Mine was a business reward so I paid extra 5000 points really just for the seat, economy was 11k, business 16k. How much is the upgrade to business for ADL-BNE?
@@JaydenWong 12.2k for the upgrade. Hopefully things will work out for virgin and I can use their points someday.
Great video. Stay safe. Take care there in Sydney 👍
Thank you! Will do! :D
Well hope a new Ruby Princess won't arise, great to see that although Virgin Australia is suffering money wise they still managed to make the flight COVID safe, a lunch box would have been better but being Virgin Australoa that is understandable
I'm sure sooner or later they'll bring back the normal service onboard and at the airport. Can't wait for that!!
Im flying DRW to PER in VA Business next week, looking forward to it.
amazing! It's quite a long flight
@@JaydenWong i regularly fly between PER and SYD, ez pz
Wow its amezing cabin and the video was speechless for me .keep making of airlines .
thank you for watching :)
Ur welcome
Wonder if VA will ever join an alliance.. hopefully with Star.. that would even things up for them
Like how there is a full height fixed panel separating business and eco
agree I want to seem them in star alliance!! Thanks mate!
A very comfortable and civilised experience, it must feel fantastic to finally be back in skies with VA! Do you prefer Qantas or Virgin when flying domestic? Thanks once again for sharing!
Definitely QF now because they've reopened most of their lounges and they've brought back catering onboard. But VA is much cheaper because of that LOL
thanks Nacho!
Your videos are always great. You’re such a good host and you have the most amazing smile and lovely manner. 😊
thank you so much for your kind words :D
Another great vlog Jayden !
It is a good thing Virgin is back up and flying
Yet again no wipe down of the seat area Jayden ?
You have become lax young man
🤭 oops busted again! but thanks for watching Ted!
The REX 737 Review will be amazing when that happens :)
1st of March first flight
indeed! I look forward to that!
All the best for Virgin Australia and their staff
thanks for watching mate!
Lol post soo early, btw happy mid autumn festival Jayden 😆
thank you buddy! 中秋節快樂 :D
Awesome video One World Flyer
thank you Melvin!!
Great video! Aloha from Kaua’i 🤙🏼
thanks for watching! Greetings from Adelaide!
How do you travel so much? 😂 any A350 trip reports soon?
I'm using points for most trips within Australia now :)
no A350 within Australia :(
One World Flyer Ah I see and no worries got the A350 haha
hey jayden how are you doing today bro ? :) did you enjoy your flight with virgin australia ? :)
I'm very well mate, great to see you back here, haven't seen you for a while😝
YAYYYYYYYYY VIRGIN AUSTRALIA!!!!!!!!!!!
😝
Nice flight! Man, I lucked out and got to take the flights on VA to Australia right before the lock down and bankruptcy... I am sad that I picked VA over Delta's own flight on the 777 and now Delta is dumping the 777 and I never got to fly the renovated 777 :( But VA is an excellent airline.
I've always wanted to fly them both to LAX! Virgin there, Delta back :/
Now the opportunity is gone :(
@@JaydenWong I tried but couldn't, I went from LAX to SYD, and then came back to the US from MEL. Delta doesn't operate a MEL flight :( Delta's LAX to SYD flight schedule was't aligning with my work schedule. However, I did enjoy VA's service onboard the 777. The ice cream bar was the best!!!! :P
Nice to see SYD from airside again, and a new VA trip report. Seems like an ok way to burn velocity points at the moment, poor value for cash purchase.
indeed, and also 30% off for business rewards😝 my main reason for travel. Thanks Kent!
Sweet engine view on takeoff 🤤🤤🤤🤤. I hope Virgin Australia will return to New Zealand again someday.
Absolutely! The AU-NZ travel bubble is slowly taking shape and hopefully Virgin will join Qantas and compete within the bubble!!
love your videos mate i watched them up until my flight and it honestly helped me feel a lot more calm and positive about the flight :D i am flying again to sydney again with jetstar at the end of the month
Thanks so much for watching! That's good to know and I'm glad you're flying soon :)
Happy moon cake festive Jayden 😁
thank you! I wish you a happy Mid Autumn festival!
Nice to see VA flying. They will be very small I think, a big reset in operations. I do like the half wall behind the last business class seat unlike QF 737.
hopefully one day they'll fly wide body and long haul again, cheers Dave!
Your first trip back to Sydney for awhile and Sydney turned on the big chill. Couldn’t ask for better timing.
😂 it was lovely and then BOOOM
Nice to see you again flying
Samsung charger for your iPhone, haha! Thanks Jayden for your flight report,I miss flying so much。
Haha I've been using that Samsung plug for years! My last Samsung phone was a note 3 in 2012!!
According to ur Q/A, you're the citizen of sky!
haha true!!
Love your vids during this time have you ever flown to Perth AUS?
yep I have flown there but never visited Perth, just the airport :)
I did Qantas Adelaide to Perth, and then Malaysia Airlines to Kuala Lumpur last year :)
Nice!
Have you flown on rex Airlines? If so what is it like?
yep it was pretty good! I got a video here :)
ua-cam.com/video/lpXz9NvCcU8/v-deo.html
1:44 Strange that VH-VYA has both the old and the new logo (the new logo can be seen on the engine)
yep I noticed that too😝 it was like the QF A330 from a while ago too
First of all, nice haircut! 😁 Great trip report. Looks like things are very much more relaxed with social distancing and masks in the airport, speaks volumes about the COVID situation there vs. here in the US. I particularly loved the shots of the cloud formations out of the window, that always makes the skies we fly in more interesting. It seems like the ticket was VERY expensive for a one-way, particularly given the level of service, lack of onboard entertainment, etc. Nice you got the extra snacks with no trouble, though. Really no biggie they were out of sparkling water if you got wine. 😉 And there at the end, taxying in, a view of your recent new friend, the SF340B! Thanks for your great work!
thank you😝 I cut it myself the day before the flight. Yep there's almost like no restrictions now. All venues in South Australia must clearly state the maximum covid-safe number of people allowed inside, and it's absurd😂 A lounge will be like max 1000 people allowed when normally it fits only 400. Yep lots of nice clouds when reaching the cruising altitude! Our border just opened to New South Wales so people were so eager to book haha. I think some flights have more people than seats because a lot of babies sitting on laps onboard😂 Many haven't seen their grandparents before in Adelaide and Sydney. It was quite emotional to see many reunions happening at both airports. Thank you Britt!
Nice flight 👍
thanks for watching!!
your so lucky you can fly to other parts of Australia... i live in Victoria, so have to wait longer. you said business class cost you $699 was that a return ticket? Also you mentioned your British Citizen? so you have a UK passport?
yup I have a British passport, it's cheaper to travel with that passport haha! Business was $699 one way!! Very expensive, I used points and paid $38 tax. Can't wait for the day when VIC records 0 cases!! Almost there I think!!
@@JaydenWong i too am still on my british passport. therefore i must pay for a *resident return visa* which only lasts 5 years, as you would know. Do you know if we can be compensated in any way, like have an extra 12-18 months added to our expiry date on that visa because we are not allowed to use our british passports and travel overseas whilst this covid19 is around? id love to know. its so unfair if we cant, the return visa is not cheap for just 5 years
@@pommydiva1 Sorry I don't know much about that. I've heard that the visa is expensive! But I've never lived in the UK so I have never applied for that visa. You only need that visa if you're going back to live permanently. If you're visiting the UK all you need is your passport :)
@@JaydenWong if you have a British Passport but live in Australia... you would have to get a *resident return visa* to allow you back into Australia. Ive been here 50 years now, but i still MUST buy a resident return visa (which costs around $400 for only 5 years). im a permanent resident of Australia. I heard on the news that it could be 2022 before we can fly overseas again, so that would mean almost 2 years wasted on the 5 year visa.
@@pommydiva1 Oh sorry I misunderstood! The resident return visa is for Australia? Well I guess I've already paid for a student visa here so I don't need a resident return visa. With my student visa, I'm a temporary resident and it expires 3-5 months after I graduate from uni.
Wish I can fly to Sydney very soon, miss Australia so much
Australia-NZ travel bubble is slowly taking shape, hopefully they'll include your country soon😝
@@JaydenWong Don't think we can fly in the near future
Have a nice weekend and 中秋節快樂
Did you chasing the moon ?
thanks mate! In Australia we have long weekend too because tomorrow is labour day :) Didn't really chase the moon haha, but it is nice and big here too
Enjoy your long weekend!
Jayden, have a happy Mid-autumn Festival. 😁
thank you mate!! I hope you ate plenty of moon cakes😝
Left hand side , right hand side ,Jeng 😂
😂 when I said it:🤪
I'm so glad to hear this.
thanks for watching!
Always a pleasure supporting our roving journalist. My kind regards to Mum also who I know is so proud. Wishing you a safe, enjoyable rest of the year
I'm still wondering how you're always flying here and there without going broke. 😂 I flew to Sydney for our family trip in Jan but with Jetstar. Haven't been on Virgin for quite sometime though. I'll make it into Business Class someday.
haha I'm now quite broke because I'm not earning as much here on UA-cam, so now I redeem points/miles most of my flights within Australia :)
your hair is so good at its current stance
haha thanks!
super flight report mate
thank you!!
i miss watching your vlog!.
More to come!
Hi from Barbados love video on point
Thanks Peter :) greetings from Adelaide Australia
Beautiful scenery
It really is! thank you for watching!
So Australia is locked down to international flights ? No one leaves or comes I
correct. Only foreigners can leave. and only Australians can come back (number of arrivals are restricted) some people cannot come back until 2021
Border has restrictions, and is not 100% closed. Australians (citizens and permanent residents) can leave, if granted an exemption. Apart from Australian citizens and permanent residents, their immediate family members can enter Australia freely, as can New Zealand passport holders - if not a dual AU/NZ citizen (and their immediate family) - if they usually live in Australia. People transiting via Australia can also enter.
W Essjai what international airlines are currently allowed to land in Australia other than repatriation flights. There are no commercial flights correct?
@@Perfectlyhonest22 Others might be more knowledgeable, but I am aware of commercial flights by Cathay Pacific, Delta, United, Air New Zealand, Japan Airlines, United, Qatar, China Airlines, Singapore, Air Niugini, China Southern.
What made you decide to study aviation?
I love planes and the business behind it :)
Korean airlines business class review
Thanks !
No problem! :D
2A my favourite seat
I like sitting at the back and left hand side usually gives you good view when landing into Adelaide, Sydney and Brisbane👍🏻
Great Video👍👍
thank you!!
@@JaydenWong You're welcome☺
thats interesting you dont have too wear mask in the terminal
nope only if you're arriving from overseas, and you'll be escorted to a bus that brings you to your quarantine hotel😵
How on earth do you manage to fly so much!
I'm currently using the points that I've saved up in the past 6 years haha!
I am watching your video in a ship
wonderful😝
‘In 2001 I was 1’ 😭😭😭😭😭 I am so old 😭😭😭
😂 don't say that
Finally
Anyone spot on 01:04 a guy throwing ball on the counter
not until you mentioned!
Clip was informative please if you can give me ticket price business as well economy Adelaide to Sydney thanks
Sure thing, I mentioned that in the video too. As of booking, economy was around $300-400 one way, business $1199. Very expensive, but now they've added more flights and prices have fallen a bit :)
What were you doing flying here and there in Australia? 😆
mainly visiting new places and catching up with friends😂
believe it or not, this is my first proper trip in Sydney! Last time was in 2012 but only 30 hours with a tour group lol
Jayden is getting cuter
haha thank you!!
Aaaa you posted this early
yup, by mistake😂
Wait, I thought Virgin was gone?
Virginia lol spell check (fixed)
almost gone! phew!
Do you know there are many more airlines in the world. 😅
Do you know we can't leave Australia atm as it is forbidden ? Some of our state borders are still closed. So Jayden has limited options for trip reports.
good to see you flying any trips to Darwin or Alice Springs in the plans
yes I actually was looking at going there but it's too expensive :(
Can you answer questions from YT comments?
for the Q&A? I'm still answering questions that I got from May 2019 so I'm not taking any new ones at the moment :)
Ok
Always nice when you can sit in front and in front of the wings. Good to see Virgin Australia back there. Hope they'll be flying out to LAX soon. Nice video as always, Jayden.
thanks for watching too! They have that in their long term plan, with new planes :)
@@JaydenWong When that day comes and you're on that flight to LAX, if I'm not busy, I'll catch the flight landing and record it for you.

It's been a while dear..
