Wow ... She was a massively talented and wonderful person with no ego. She taught me so much about singing .. I always think of Karen .. probably everyday. I was lucky enough to meet her in the early 80s when I was young and playing music in NYC and was based in Woodstock, NY. Karen was my housemate in two different houses! Karen and her Cheshire Cat smile. Her incredible talent. Her generous nature. She is missed but we are all so thankful to have known her and that this film has been made. 🕯❤🎶

@@PianoMeSasha Why the negativity? @Songs for Students was merely expressing their admiration for Beki's poignant anecdote. I saw nothing wrong in that and totally agree with what they said.

@@hauntological I think @Songs for Students was just saying that a better word should or could be used for my memories. They weren't being negative. (Actually, they were commenting on their own pre ious comment!) I can't find the words to describe having Karen as a good friend. I'd have to write a book! ✌😽

Looking forward to seeing this documentary when it comes out Oct 1! I was so lucky to get to be part of the Greenwhich Village folk music scene right before it ended... I was like a high school freshman around all the Senior Lettermen, both male and female (but mostly male!), working at The Gaslight in the Village from 1968-1971. Changed my whole entire life. What fabulous musical days those were! ❤ 🙂 ❤

I've been listening to copies of old Karen Dalton & Fred Neil albums for 40 years. They both played music for the love of music & not for the praise of critics or the adoration of groupies. There music continues to inspire me. She was the real deal. For the record, so was Tim Harden, who was a remarkably kind and thoughtful man...

Leaving a comment because the trailer for Karen's life story shouldn't be here without a comment. A true artist, and the insane world we find ourselves in kills the artists.

Karen Dalton's sound is mesmerizing. I don't find it depressing at all. It's evocative, soulful and hauntingly beautiful. Right where it needs to be. Not being marketable is not the issue. So what? Not everything is for sale. That's the beauty of her sound. It defies industry control.

Finally, a documentary about her! Her music is marvellous. Beautiful singer. And it's unfortunate that she wasn't as grand as the other folks' singers of that period. A female version of Nick Drake!

its amazing the degree to which the people talking about her, mostly americans, have nothing to say beyond the obvious cliches...the utter lack of intellectual tradition in USA in general, among the media and entertainment industry in particular. exactly why pop music yielded the saccharine hit version of tim hardin's song, done by the Carpenters in 1970, when Karen D's version was heartbreaking and moving. the business of usa is business, as calvin coolidge or one of them wankers put it, and business has no sincere feeling, its mathmatics and lust for money.

For someone all feel sorry for she chose her destructive life
So many photos of her, so hardly a recluse. A drug addict.
