London: Dusk at Kensal Green station
Вставка
- Опубліковано 2 чер 2017
- After a bit of a break in publishing material, there is a new film of Kensal Green station, which is shared by the London Underground Bakerloo line and the London Overground Watford DC line.
The station is situated along the West Coast Main Line, one of the principal railway lines in the UK, running from London Euston up to Glasgow in Scotland. Besides Tube and Overground trains, one can therefore spot Virgin Trains and London Midland services out of Euston, including Class 221 Super Voyager and Class 390 Pendolino high speed trains.
The film shows the station and some services around dusk, which makes for a beautiful atmosphere.

0:31 the train now standing at platform 1 is the Bakerloo line service for all stations to Elephant and Castle
4:34 the sparks
Reminds me Train Sim World 2
The commentary is the best part of these videos. Perfect use of the captioning system so it's optional. Thanks.
The train now standing at Platform 1 is the 17:55 London Overground service to Euston. Calling at: Queens Park, Kilburn High Road. South Hampstead, and Euston.
Love how Emma says ‘is the Bakerloo Line’
Thank you for this, I remember back in 2007 took the London Overground on the first day of service from Queen's Park to Kensal Green, who remembers the old trains with stickers of London Overground? :)
Oh my...
I CANT BELIVE THEY HAD STICKERS UNTIL 2010 LOL
Beautiful video. Thank you.
4:28 That is the biggest and loudest spark I have ever seen
6:57 another big spark
I remember when I was at Wembley Park Tube station (Metropolitan/Jubilee line if I’ve remembered the correct lines, from Leeds so not 100% on lines and stations) and I thought the train was sparking a lot and everyone else was just not bothered by it lol
Where is it
The lo little more a
4:30
So many sparks.
Nice video!!! Thanks for sharing😀😀
Good old 72 stock. Nice bouncy seats, and nice bouncy ride.
2:28 ilove that chime
The reason it says all the London Overground stations is because it is a mainline service whereas the tube isn't, plus the tube has to many stations to announce them all
I do get excited when another of your London videos come out. Something I see every day but you capture it so well. Your photography, Videography, and captions make for a really nice youtube video
Ethano williamo Thanks, I'm glad you like my videos :-)

Wtjnhttqhgeneltĺ,
I like the bakeroo line
I have been surprised since the beginning that Overground train Can circle thorough underground tracks. This is an effective way to make interconnections easier
Maybe the southern service can aswell
Great video.
I remember seeing a train spark at Wembley Park and was thinking “that can’t be safe” but it was nothing compared to some of the sparks in this video.
Amazing video
Yes
I just see a London underground every leaves stop at platform 2 is just like has fire on it
Wow those sparks
I think I like this video and it is because of the overground and underground
얼마나 긴 시간을 지나야 저도 모르게 친근감을 느끼며 웃음이 났어요
I'msorry
Underground! 😍😍😍
The electric shock kind of scares people if there is fire
Good video, keep up the awesome work!
You make some of the best quality videos keep it up
jpgm2015 Thanks :)
Great video on trains mate 😊👍
the first station reminds me of the brighton beach line because its build in a trench
My local station.
Watch from 4:28, Look at the sparks. It’s impressive
I've saw a flash electric light between the track and the train wheels!.
@Andrew Gomez because of the electrified 4 rail, if it's using overhead wires, then the wires will flash with the pantograph
That's because electric trains collect electric power from the third rail. If underground trains or subway trains use a pantograph, then they would occur flash lights above
Brilliant! I very much appreciate your filming techniques, including boarding and alighting scenes and station scenes, similar to my work. You clearly show the warm, semi - rural atmosphere of the station and its train traffic. Thanks to you, i remembered the sleek, elegant lines of the 1972 stock trains and their impressive electric sparkling action, from my time in the UK.

I wonder, what's the exact word for a station such as Kensal Green where you can witness National Rail trains pass-byers who travel outside it? And how many of those are in London?
Great video
3:04 sooo cuuuuute
no looks concerned and old
Note: The third rail is electrified with about 300 volts of electricity. That's why you shouldn't step onto the tracks.
great train
4:49 notice how the smoking announcement activates as the bakerloo line sparks produce smoke.
after a virgin train and London midland service and is this is a departing London - bound bakerloo line
train
1:44 lol sometimes the overground goes on the bakerloo line
Yes
The first station reminds me of the Brighton Beach Line because it's build in a trench
The London Overground train is almost the same height as the Bakerloo line train or are they not the same height
At 0:26 the blue light above the doors indicates that de-icing fluid is being sprayed on the tracks.
cool
No. It's collecting electric power from the 4th Rail. That's why they spark. If they are using overhead wires, then they would spark above. No De-icing facilities
4:33 JEEZ
0:07 what does cc means?
I get quite interesting at this video
Cool vid
Stunning! I didn't know that London Overground and Underground can share the same track. Are there no problems with leakage currents?
The middle negative conductor rail is bonded to the running rails to accommodate London Underground's 4th Rail system and Network Rails 3rd rail system for London Overground services. 11kv three phase power is distributed from 10 substations along the Watford DC line giving the conductor rails a compromise charge of 660V.

.😗
Prachi Londhe What?
metr0p0Iitain I am disgusted by the fact that Underground trains and Overground trains are partly running on the same lines because of the difference in speed.
Waleed Arif overground trains go at the same speed of underground trains even if they are capable of higher speeds
today it stay we are at kensal
green station
i went there
There should be traffic lights outside Kensal green station
And the bridge above the Freight tracks heading uphill towards the Kensal Rise area
6:55 oh shit
Sparks as there is a break between conductor(3rd) rails
We are going to Waterloo station to see the jubilee line
Atmospheric
Well, London Midland run to Crewe, which isn't exactly shorter distance.
a lot run to northampton which isnt too far from london
In my next video I travel to Kensal Green Station: ua-cam.com/video/oXd-KMlvXw4/v-deo.html
Kensal Green station looks like an old chapel!
Do tube and overground rail services use different third rail configurations ?
Some of the overground railways use pantographs.
Underground use 4 rail system 630v DC, whilst National rail services use 3rd rail at 750v DC. Not sure what voltage they use on common use tracks
660v I believe, slightly overvoltage for the tube (but within limits) and while 3rd rail is officially 750V National Rail trains happy run on 660V. Main difference is the forth rail is neutral on the common sections and is electrically bonded to the running rails (the return path for National Rail)
Parts of the District Line is in the process of being boosted to 750V and that should be going live soon now the last D stock is out of service as S stock was designed for 750.
Voltage is set at a compromise of 660V for safety reasons regarding the age of the Bakerloo 1972 Stock electrical equipment which can operate at a maximum of 760V but due to fluctuations in current ect. the current fed must fall comfortably under this threshold.

Is the London Overground shot electric
Well, there are no overhead electric wires on the London overground and underground tracks, but they are on the mainline. So, yes, Overground trains on the Euston Goblet line do get shot using the 4th rail
Why does bakerloo line have lots of sparks
This is the train to Euston 🚉

I already been on those trains, even from my childhood, and they Stink really bad, Outdated and slow. And really old.
They may be old but they don’t smell, that’s bullshit, it may be your opinion but that’s just bullshit.
@Zachary Johns they will in the 2020s
