Something I love about this update (other than the obvious flower, of course), is that the Obsessed can be spotted before it spots you. It's not necessarily tracking you, it just happens to be in the same place as you. Maybe attracted by the noises of you moving through the forest, but not stalking "you" specifically. It only starts to exhibit its obsessive nature once it actually sees you and becomes intrigued by you. This mechanic, while seemingly small, does a great job of making the Obsessed seem like a more natural addition to the world! It wasn't "meant to be" (even if it will eventually have to see you because, ya know, horror mod), you just happened to venture into the same place that it lives and it just happened to see you. It gives it a "wrong place wrong time" sorta feel that really ups the anxiety, as you don't know *when* the Obsessed will see you. It's completely random! But you *do* know that it *will* happen eventually. You becoming its newest obsessed is a when, not an if.
I think being silly helps with the atmosphere, like at first its all funs and games, hehe hahas, but as time passes the obsessed gets more and more agressive so the transition from silly to eerie gives it that horror movie quality
I say just keep doing you, y'know? If goofing around is what you do naturally, just keep doing it. Don't try to force tension or scariness, because no doubt it'll happen on its own when the Obsessed shows up. The lighthearted joking puts the audience at ease, which will make the scary parts all the more terrifying because the audience won't be prepared for it!

alr, here's all the ideas from comments for updating the obsessed!: (some of them are new, some of them are old ones. ill keep updating this :) ) - he should kiss you goodnight at random when you go to sleep - Make it target your pets or anything that has developed positive relationship with you, including villagers with too high of trade level. It wants you all for itself, right? - Itd be really cool if when you left your home you could come back to see your front door open or your bed in a different position or a flower in your chest that you didnt put there. Just showing that it was in your home -If sound does get added, what about having Obsessed laugh? Like, echoey and far away, then one right next to your ear. - A feature that I would love to see is, if you are multiplayer the monster would get attached to someone random and start acting violent to the other players. That would be really cool, if you had friends playing with you. - ( For adding more sounds, maybe in the mod it would be a cool idea for tamed pets like Cats or Dogs to be able to do that weird thing with sensing or seeing the stalker before you can. Then they start to agressivly bark/ meow like pets normally do when they hear or see and intruder/ stranger they don't recognize inside or outside their owner's home. It would be like a natural indicator if the creature approaching. And people experiencing the mod for the first time wouldnt know about this sound cue until they/ if they got a pet in the game. And if they do eventually get a pet, they will wonder why its being so aggresive and noisy, but can eventually pick up on how the pet is warning them of the danger that lurks near. ) - ( It should have first phase, when he didn't pick interest in you, since you only arrived in the world(like, 2-3 days countdown); -It should be able to stalk you more, before actually engage in, i think, since it's not gonna build up tension in 1-3 days; -It can be scared of "illuminated" status, since it will expose him to a world, so spectral arrows have actual usage. But, you can also add a random event(small chance of happening), where he will start slaughter because of it, or you can make it build up; -As someone down here in comments said - it's gonna be creepy, if it will attack tamed animals out of jealousy; -Also leaning away from a tree to stalk you would be cool; ) - put flowers or notes close by your base - take/give you items - he can leave deceased animals around your house as a gift for you - maybe a lair where he can kidnap you after you trigger him somehow (like ignore him) - when you go to sleep, he watches you - he follows ALWAYS - whispers like "hello" like he's trying to work up the courage to speak to you + maybe even heavy breathing if he's unnoticed - he makes a little home in a cave nearby the players house - would be a cool detail if you can see its expression like changing depending on the level of its obsession. Like if it’s REALLY obsessed you can see it’s creepy psychopathic smile/smug and if it’s really pissed/unpleased you can see it’s frown/angry expression, it would probably be hard to make but a nice detail to see. - would be cool trhat the obsessed sometimes peek at you from behind a block, and when you look at him he hides completely and dissapears - Add an update where you get married to the obsessed if you gift them a diamond, and they start helping you out / cooking for you if a campfire or furnace is near, as well as occasional throwing a written book to you with love letters/poems inside. - in multiplayer it woud be cool if it only attacks those that are not the obsession. or when the gifts are added, tamed pets that you own are killed or an item that was in the inventory of a player it's killed (prioritising named items) are given to the obsession. - cool idea is in the end for you to be able to tame him in some kind of way maybe ( getting close to him without fear to show HIM that YOU want to be with HIM). After he is tamed he’ll just follow you and protect you like Minecraft’s dogs. - create more sounds to trigger for the creature under certain conditions. Such as: 1. Glass- hand rubbing against glass sound/tapping sound. 2. Planks- scratching sound 3. Door- knocking/tapping sound 4. Water- sploosh sound effect (like if the players nearby it quickly dives into the water)/ if it was in the water you can hear the water dripping from its form 5. Leaf/Grass- Rustling sound - What if after a while of stalking you, if your on low health while being chased by hostile mobs, the Obsessed will run up, kill the mobs and run off again. It makes sense too, it can't watch you if you die so it protects you for its own sake. - U should make him wisper stuff like „i love u“ and such yandere stuff. Like him placing roses around ur house or setting a chest with bloody Meet in it in shape of a heart or eye. Or just a pic of u in a map. Or if u interact with a villager that he kills him. - To make it more immersive, you could have it so the obsessed hurts or kills anything you show a lot of attention to. So attending the farm, he could ruin it as he wants to be “attended” to. Or for farm animals, if you feed them consistently, the obsessed might hurt or kill them in order to get your attention more. Same with dogs or pet animals. I think that would make it more interactive and definitely make you think about him and his presence more - it would be quite interesting if you were somehow able to like give into the Obessed's obsession with you. Like leaving out important items to give to it or interacting with it in some way. Obviously, this would also work in reverse, like rejecting it. - maybe leave an item in altar to make him passive and more loveable

The plant being a wither rose is also a lovely touch-- flowers are used as a sign of affection, but the wither rose hurts you if you get too close to it. Adding the fact that it is unremovable unless you do something like, say, *burning it* (or probably removing the block that it's under too), it can easily be seen as a metaphor for the twisted love that the Obsessed has for you. Wonderful!
The reason I love your Minecraft horror mods is because they don't make loud obnoxious noises exposing themselves, and are stealthy and set the tension beautifully in their environments. Super excited for what's next and hope you do well!
I have a feeling you burning that withering rose was a mistake, the obsessed is probably going to be decently pissed. On the other hand, i love the humor in this video! The only reason why it feels different is because in the first season/ before the world got corrupted the obsessed was immediately a threat, however this series has a little more buildup. Just keep pushing on!

I really love the way you construct the tension and made real horror moments, you can create a paranoid in our heads with the soundtrack (the way you put the music and then you shut it all down in, like, seconds). You really is an horror artist, man
Horror tends to have comedy moments so when things do get scary, they tend to hit harder due to the disparity between the highest points to the lowest points. This is why horror in non-horror games hits EXTRA hard.
I say do your own thing. I like how you do the videos now. You’re being yourself and not forcing horror. The change of music when it’s not spooky to literally a change in a second when it does get suspenseful and then immediately changing it back to normal is how I like it. I love your videos!

Idea: with any rejection of the obsessed many gifts of failing to appreciate it in a way that's impossible, it will harm you, like, make it fluxuate in its feelings, it WANTS YOU all to itself, so it gets more hurt when you reject it in any way shape or form that is impossible, it will get ANGRY, then if it hurts you it gets SAD, but over time it might get ANGRY enough to kill you.
If you want the horror atmosphere to return, just cut a few jokes. It is important to have comedy in a horror thing to make the scary things even more scary
Maybe you should add a functionality that the Obsessed will kill any tamed wolf or pig with a saddle. It wants you all to itself right so its gotta get rid of the competition.

Nah, this style is pretty good! You do your thing, be silly, crack jokes and have a good time :D Monky piggs and pattotis all the way! Then BOOM, whiplash, we feel the tension with you as you get scared or paranoid with the creature approaching.
You should add a bunch of pressure plates surrounding your house, so if it's near and you are in your base, you hear the plates clicking. PS: You should do an animated series. Try and get LaserQuaser to do it. I think it would be perfect.
I love these minecraft horror series! I also love the kind of funny and silly atmosphere, but also the eerie and scary vibes.. Like the silly goofy durning the day but as soon as it turns night it's all scary and eerie? That is the best, or it could get progressively scarier as the obsessed becomes more agressive (by my opinion)
I have another idea for it! :) Like it like place flowers you've passed by or something or give gifts and stuff or take things to like keep because its so obsessed it wants to idk have your sent or whatever stuff with it. Another idea is where it just randomly looks at you while you sleep during the short time period where it changes to day bc i think it'll make it look cool. My last idea is that he watches you through your window(s) but when you look at him he moves out of view. I love the obsessed and your videos :)

I just had a really interesting idea for a horror mod, or well, more a feature for one since it's not that great on its own. If there was a feature where you could "spot" one of these horror mobs before it notices you, maybe chasing some other mob only to fail by flowing water/small gaps/etc other stuff you would expect normal mobs not to get through, only for it to then overcome them easily when chasing you, showing that it knew you were watching it and faked weaknesses to lure you into a false sense of security.
I'm thinking that a nice detail would be that once your really far into the game, (there's a setting that shows how many days you've played) say that your nearly dead, 2 hearts maybe, the mob that is attacking you suddenly dies? The reason for it suddenly dying could be that The Obsessed could have killed it in some way- shape, or form. It could leave some a little confused since The Obsessed doesn't show itself. Just an idea!

Really cool idea is to switch and take turns in both pov's. The stalker can watch you from far away, while creepy text messages pops up on your screen and then switches back to you.

Idea if you're gonna update him again: When you are sleeping like say in a house or so, there's a possible chance that the Obsessed throws a rock with a letter at your window and breaks it only if you have one
I think it would be really cool if there were optional amounts of the obsessed
Example:
Opt 1: server host will choose this opt and leave it so that obsessed randomly chooses player
Opt 2: server host will choose the player that gets stalked
Opt 3: server host chooses certain amount of players to get stalked therefore more obsessed entities will spawn and the thrill of not knowing who’s stalker it is ads to the fun
Opt 4: Server host has all players targeted making it so a mob of obsessed entities will snatch you
Also for the multi obsessed entities I would like to see how they would interact with each other. Would they be able to know who is who? Would they be hostile or friendly to each other?
This is just an idea I think would also be cool to see in the mod.

with any rejection of the obsessed many gifts of failing to appreciate it in a way that's impossible, it will harm you, like, make it fluxuate in its feelings, it WANTS YOU all to itself, so it gets more hurt when you reject it in any way shape or form that is impossible, it will get ANGRY, then if it hurts you it gets SAD, but over time it might get ANGRY enough to kill you.

I love these minecraft horror series! I also love the kind of funny and silly atmosphere, but also the eerie and scary vibes.. Like the silly goofy durning the day but as soon as it turns night it's all scary and eerie? That is the best, or it could get progressively scarier as the obsessed becomes more agressive (by my opinion)

Like it like place flowers you've passed by or something or give gifts and stuff or take things to like keep because its so obsessed it wants to idk have your sent or whatever stuff with it. Another idea is where it just randomly looks at you while you sleep during the short time period where it changes to day bc i think it'll make it look cool. My last idea is that he watches you through your window(s) but when you look at him he moves out of view. I love the obsessed and your videos :)

I just had a really interesting idea for a horror mod, or well, more a feature for one since it's not that great on its own.
If there was a feature where you could "spot" one of these horror mobs before it notices you, maybe chasing some other mob only to fail by flowing water/small gaps/etc other stuff you would expect normal mobs not to get through, only for it to then overcome them easily when chasing you, showing that it knew you were watching it and faked weaknesses to lure you into a false sense of security.
I'm thinking that a nice detail would be that once your really far into the game, (there's a setting that shows how many days you've played) say that your nearly dead, 2 hearts maybe, the mob that is attacking you suddenly dies? The reason for it suddenly dying could be that The Obsessed could have killed it in some way- shape, or form. It could leave some a little confused since The Obsessed doesn't show itself. Just an idea!

2:50 I think a big reason many people came to the channel was the eerie vibe with the man bear. For me comedic is fun to see more of your personality but I think that from a UA-cam standpoint the target audience wants eerie

Really cool idea is to switch and take turns in both pov's. The stalker can watch you from far away, while creepy text messages pops up on your screen and then switches back to you.

Bro i watched a minecraft alien short film and it got me thinking. IdK someguy could totally do that. It would require quite a bit but it would be so cool. A xenomorph (many or just one) stalks you around a starship or on a planet. It would plan when to attack and would be super hard to kill........ My brain thinking about it is soo cool!!!!!!!
