- Can I survive the Redwood Forest in Minecraft? Let's find out. In this video, I try to survive and make my way through the redwood biome. This biome is both beautiful and treacherous for there lurks evil in the shadow, but also light. I will encounter many structures and creature along the way and will have to build a house to maintain survival in minecraft.

One thing that would be great is if the Obsessed's face changes based on how we react. Like for example if we look at it, it gives a wide grin. If we ignore it, it will look sad/ betrayed and if we attack it, it will scream in anger at you. :0
A relationship system is in place (I dont know how it works to be exact) but it does show various face expressions nowadays.

this guy has the perception of a prey animal, being able to see things that borderline dont even exist, but also has the survival skills of a rock

The lore is you used to live in the city but you began to notice someone stalking you, you don't know who it is, perhaps a former lover, or distanced admirer? no one else seems to see it but you do... Your pets start mysteriously dying, you decide to move. Sadly you can never find peace, the stalker always manages to find you, pushing you farther and farther away from civilization. one day a person you love gets killed, the killer was never found, but deep down you know who it was. In a last resort you decide to run off into the wilderness, maybe you can finally find a place where you can't get anyone else hurt and maybe finally escape whoever is ruining your life.

The obsessed is so scary because its so inhuman and unnatural while also resembling a human. The freaky way it appears and dissapears, like the only reason why you can see it is because it WANTS YOU TO, the way it slowly follows your tracks-- the way it can go from staring at you to a insanely fast sprint, the fact that none of us understand the workings behind this monster only makes it even more terrifying.. please I haven't been more invested in a Minecraft mod EVER. Not to mention it has a very simple and nice looking design as a little cherry ontop, 10/10

for a phycological horror mod. I would also not just focus on the entity itself, but the actual player like a hidden sanity feature that falls when events occur allowing the obsessed to do more sinister actions, once the sanity falls down a certain level (like a phases system), maybe add nightmares or sleep paralysis events showing that the obsessed is getting to the players head. Sounds that I feel would be great would be knocking on doors, scratching and tapping on sides of players houses. maybe you could also add a paranoia or fear effect that is inflicted when these sounds are heard or if the obsessed is seen, slight jittery screen slightly higher fov increases, sharper visions, heartbeat. just some cool ideas I came up with. I think phycological horror is the way to go. I have so many more ideas you could do.

add in ways to reverse it as well, like having pets, lighting candles, sleeping, having a sword or an axe in your inventory at all times, have golums guarding you, add a special golum thats sole job is to protect you that you can gift items to...................... what if the obsessed is something like that last one but something went horribly wrong and if you use that mob and leave it somewhere two things can happen either 1. you get another obsessed or 2. you get a yandere who is basically the worst case thing to happen, the obsessed with act like obsessed does whilst the yandere wont just stalk, no no no, the yandere will burn down villages, kill/steal your pets, break into your house, give you gifts more often, straight up build underneath your base if possible, steal items, watch you as you sleep, break your crap, steel your crap, takes your armor and weapons if their not in a safe location/on your person and will use said armor and weapons, will fight the obsessed. basically you could either get a second obsessed who might act differently and will fight the other obsessed or you get the yandere which is the worst case scenario but wait for this comment only you could also get number 3. the stalker, this one is probably the best case scenario and would probably have the lowest chance of spawning, as the stalker wont attack you, will protect you, will gift you stuff, will write notes about you as well which all three will probably do anyways, all at the cost of sanity, but don't worry the stalker will gift you things to help with that as that old programming is there just a bit skewed now, anyways i imagine the golum would be humanish, more then likely female in appearance (long hair, eyes, the works) but mostly androgynous looking, the obsessed 2 would well look like obsesses but sense you could give the golum items, it'll have em on them at all times possibly In broken or worn states, the stalker would look like the golum but possibly having vines or some dirt covering it with what ever items you gave it in pristine condition, and the yandere.... bloody, they would be wearing clothing that is clearly from someone else and is filled with some stab holes and worn like they went through fields with it or something, they will have items that you didn't give them at all, and they will probably be the loudest and quietest of the trio depending on the location and thing its doing, you can get rid of the yandere for a bit by either using a special statue that can protect your base but needs charging power this'll effect the other two somewhat as well or the more temporary solution, is finding their base if they have one under your own base and then break a specific item in there so that next you go inside it, it looks like it was hastily gotten rid of, certain items are smashed or missing or misplaced, stuff like that, basically the golum is something you shouldn't abandon unless you want the headache/heart attacks

This series is already off to a great start! I don’t really like how in this one it gets to “The obsessed part” that quickly, I feel like it’d be scarier if it slowly got closer and closer, (for example; on day two, it becomes slightly more noticeable when stalking the player) but idk.
THEORY THING PART1!1!1!1!!
The part where The obsessed just sits there is very cursed, and I think I know what it was doing. Basically, there was a weird looking tree, with spruced logs, slabs, and a (I think 1???) one fence. I feel like maybe the obsessed was building something for the player??? Idk. Also, from what I’ve seen and heard from these comment sections, this isn’t too far into development. So, it could just be a part of the map, since you seem to be using a mod for the Redwoods (gorgeous woods btw).
I am honestly pretty hyped for the rest of the series, and what’s to come for the mod (specifically the “Relationship System” thing. Also, “System”??? A coincidence perhaps???).
The thing is,. Nothing here in this video was 'scripted'' in any way. The Obsessed acts at its own accord and while I understand the 'build' up like the Manbear, I don't have that type of control with this mod nor should I. I'm just waiting and seeing what it does, didn't appear that much at all in 2 hours.
@@idk_someguyhere’s an idea: try and make some thing like the man bear but it uses a artificial learning thing to track what you do when it chases you and where you go when you are scared. Or you could add something like that to the man bear or the obsessed I’d say both just the man bear learns slower
@@idk_someguy I meant, like, the mod, but yeah, it wouldn’t be very easy to mod all of this to specifically be in that order (I also wrote the comment without using my brain to realize this was a fully edited video). Also, now that I look back, I was being a bit picky with that, and completely forgot editing existed. (Why did I think this was a full 21 minute long Minecraft gameplay? With nothing cut out?). Apologies if I did waste your time.

I would be super creeped out if the obsessed had a mechanic if it stood at a distance and when the player looks at it, it smiles in a nervous way and slowly waves

Obsessed is the scariest mod for me, unlike any dweller or scary mod which will attack you if spawn and seen, obsessed is just silent observing you, you don't know when he will grab you

What if in "the lore" the obsessed dragged him off somewhere else and somehow altered idk's memory to restart their "relationship"

The "Needless desire to explore" is one of my favorite aspects of minecraft. Just being able to see everything your world has to offer, until you find that ONE spot, that perfectly scratches your brain.

Yeah, exotic species are kinda just like that tho. They're rare to newcomers and the most common part of the country for others.
The Obsessed is so awesome. I love this mod on its own but Someguy makes this so much better!

There a low chance like 25% to find their house or whatever they live in out in the forest
The door is unlocked
When they grab player they take them to their home once they are near the door the screen black or show the player they take them to player room or cell that they had made for them
They put The player in their a cell or bedroom that they had made for them to make it look comfortable
The player can escape the room by looking in the room like find a button or something that can open the door
And once the player got out of the room
If they can look around there a few chest that haves one or two items from a player chest They had taken one or two items from a player cheat
They gonna have food in the chest or they will give player food which it improve the relationship only if they feed the player by animation or something
They will leave the their house leaving the player alone so they can hunt for food for them allowing the player to find a way out

I realized this now, even the pilliagers are afraid of the obsessed as they decided to (mostly, if not entirely) prevent anyone including themselves from getting back up. Could just be another mod aside from The Obsessed, if it's not though, thats one hell of a way to do environmental storytelling.

I think one of my favorite aspects of the mod is that we don't know just exactly WHAT the Obsessed it. Is it a person, making it one of the most realistic horror mods out there, or is it some sort of nonhuman entity that has all the hallmarks of being a human yet "wrong"?
There's potential in both outcomes. If the Obsessed is human, then the mod tells a story that many unfortunate people have had to deal with before, giving Minecraft players a horror experience that could **actually happen** to them. It's appearance can easily be explained away by the player not wanting to acknowledge them as a person, and mentally "editing out" any human characteristics until all the Obsessed looks like is a featureless monster. The Obsessed might have mechanics in where it takes pictures of you (in game-wise this might be achieved with flashing lights off in the distance), leave you gifts (perhaps of an item that you craft a lot, or something that's hard to come across like a rare flower), or leave you threatening notes. It has every capability of turning what was once a peaceful Minecraft playthrough into a horrifying nightmare in which there is no one "right way" to go about things.
On the other hand, there's plenty of evidence that points to the Obsessed being non-human. Assuming the player sees it for what it actually is, then the height, too-long fingers, the fact that smoke spawns around it, glowing eyes/teeth, AND the fact that it's skin almost looks like it's meant to blend in with dirt and trees easily points it to being a monster that lives in the woods. That, and the line "it saw you"-- "it", not "he" or "they". This time, it begs the question-- for a creature with inhuman motivations, can you ever truly know what it is thinking? Can you ever truly gauge its intelligence, or know how to appease it? It's not a person, it's reasoning for doing one thing can be entirely different from our own. So when it does something that almost seems *too* human, such as leaving you gifts, building (or at least attempting to) build things that you've built, or knocking on the door...
...do you really think you'd be smart enough to escape it if you tried?
I'm literally in love with these mods, both manbear and the obsessed have such lovely looking models and their behavior is honestly so intriguing. I'm aware you aren't the coder for these, but since they are your ideas and you're probably actively affecting development, would you/the coder ever consider making a video on the making of the mods?
I'd love to see the process of how you come up with these or an explanation of how they work! Keep up the great work too, your reactions are super funny especially to the patooties!

i have an idea for the obsessed, but im not sure if itll be hard to code. but i was thinking you can make an animation of him peeking behind trees and building's when he is stalking you. idk it just seemed like a good idea to me 😅
At the 6:13 mark when it went underwater i immediately thought of a mod idea that matches your style. Imagine a mod based on the urban legend La-Larona “weeping women”
In the legend, she constantly sings near rivers and long bodies of water singing at night, looking for her children who drowned. However get to close she will mistake you for her children grabbing you to inspect your face, only to realise it’s not her children and ends up drowning you.
Can you imagine just fishing and you didn’t realise the time and as you prepare to leave you hear eerie singing and as you run she chases after you. Or another versions would be that she lives in the water, but when you are about to leave she jumps out of the water and grabs you pulling you in and drowning you.
I love the videos about this mod. The concept, the setting in the redwoods, the sightings of The Obsessed. This mod becomes greater and greater with each update. Can't wait for the next video!

Idk how to explain it good-..like it learns from how you act, something like that. OR it would steal your things like from your chests and sometimes he would give you little gifts out of nowhere like berries, like you turn Arlo and you would see random drop.. idk If I made myself understood correctly 😅

Quick tip. You don’t need a lead for animals to follow you, if you hold the food they eat they will follow you. For example cows and sheep will follow you if you hold wheat.

you could give him animation that makes it so he just stands outside of your build and slowly peeks from behind a wall or glass waiting for you to notice for a while then just runs off.
Would like to see how the obsessed behave in a much more open area like the plains biome, or even mountainous areas.

I've watched this I don't know how many times, but I've just noticed: at 21:02, idk is getting CARESSED by that thing. It made my skin crawl. I'll never unsee that. What makes this worse is my own freaking imagination: just lying in bed, nearly asleep, then feeling a finger gently brushing against my face... NOPE. NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE.

Funny Suggest; The Obsessed would have a rival that actually doesn't just hunt the player, but the opposite, it tries to protect the player from the spooky tall guy, just a thought.

What if the obsessed would leave you some more, some less creepy presents? Got the idea by the randomly appearing horse that looks like the obsessed colour-wise. Any present the obsessed leaves would have a black and white colour scheme.

If you get eggs, and give them to the Patooties, you can tame them and at 12:49 it's a bluejay i believe and it you feed them glowberries and give another glowberry to your patootie, it will ride on it's back :)
It doesn't tame the bird so be careful if you want to take the bluehay off of the Patooties back because it will fly away i believe. (you can take it off of their backs by give both glowberrys again.

I really like this mod! But i do have some questions and what could be consider horror especially with multiplayer.
Maybe whenever in multiplayer, the obsessior chooses a single player. But depending on the player who interacts with a certain friend. I do see the obsesser kinda killing the friend but what if they try to mimic the friend?(Kinda like giving certain items the friend always have, stalking the friend and you to learn the behavior, and maybe..maybe be able to transform into the friends form to get closer if the friend isn't around?) its just a random thought.
Also I wonder where the obsession would take you too, many say a cave but I wonder which one, maybe each time you escape, the obessor takes you to a deeper cave and one you don't know to prevent you escaping?
i cant wait to romance the Obsessed
